After year he had read everything that he deemed valuable in both the Ninja and Civilian Libraries, he had identified the Beings eyes as being Rinnegan and somewhat related to the Byakugan and Sharingan, With the information he had obtained he was able to speculate that the Sage of 6 Paths had a connection to these beings, and they may be his descendants, to gain any further information he needed access to the other clan Libraries and the Hokages personal Archives which would be impossible through legal means so right now Shikamaru was training himself for Infiltration and information gathering.

Using his masters Yin release he is now able to scan a book with his spiritual Chakra and due to his Eidetic memory he would be able to retain the entirety of the book or scroll in his mind, and using his high yin natured Chakra he was able to access his mindscape and rearrange it to be a clear blue sky filled with layers of clouds, each cloud was a bank of information categorised by subject and the higher they go, the more in importance they gain, and his memories were all above the layers of clouds in the night sky and each stay contained a memory sorted by date in an order only he can identify. This meant that he wouldn't need to spend months to read the books.

With his high affinity to Shadows he had been able to invent a space-time technique which allows him to appear in any shadow felt by his Shadow sense, and now he could sense all shadows that he could sink and come out of standing up and he can gain a general description of what the Shadow is reflected from.
