Building the Website

"Oh Mom, I thought you were going to work late tonight too, what happened?" Jian asked as she placed the bag down on the dining table. Jessica smiled opening up her arms as Jian walked towards the kitchen.

"I did, but the client rescheduled so I could leave on time, how was the park?" Jessica asked after hugging Jian. "It was fun, but I walked too much today. We went to the lake and John took a lot of good photos, I will show you tomorrow once I finish editing."

Jian then continued to explain the photos they took and Jessica asked her questions about posing and the lighting during a natural photoshoot.

That night the two spent time on the sofa talking while Jessica was braiding Jian's hair she asked, "So what about your job, do you want me to take you to work tomorrow?"

"Oh I don't have a photoshoot till Friday so tomorrow I will finish up the project, and hopefully perfect it by Thursday and you can help me evaluate it too," Jian said. "That's good, do you want to go to a fabric shop on Thursday then, we can try looking for different types so that you can gain more experience," Jessica asked finishing up the braid.

"That would be perfect, we can also eat out then and get some mother-daughter time," Jian said as she got up. "Alright, then off to bed, you have a lot to do tomorrow and I am going to work in the afternoon," Jessica said as she walked towards the kitchen to finish cleaning.

The next day Jian woke up and got straight to work on the research for sizing and the different charts that were already on the web. It didn't take long for her to find a few different charts she liked and use some of their elements to create her own chart. She was able to finish around 4 in the afternoon and by then John had also sent her all the photos from the day before.

She then worked on creating the website and choosing which photos to use where, and with what font and background. It was more stressful than she had originally anticipated she put the finishing details on it around midnight, getting just the right colors to balance each pattern and design of the outfits.

The website looked complete as she pressed the view button to view it from a consumer's point of view. It opened with a simple title page with a basic plain white background and on it in black was the name "Jewels of Fashion," Then the background shifted after a few seconds to the photos of Jian in the park.

The first photo was of a simple blouse and pencil skirt. Then a photo of a flower bush and a flower-printed circle skirt with a white t-shirt. Then some red roses and a photo of the red and black off-the-shoulder dress. She scrolled down after a few more pictures of the products themselves. They went from tops, bottoms, and dresses.

It was a simple website with little variation of colors to help the bright clothing stand out on the polka-dot jewels background.
