The Wind Dress

"Mom, we're back," Jian said as they entered the living room. Jessica smiled saying, "Wonderful, the chicken should be done in a few minutes, I will call you two when the food is ready." Jian nodded as she walked towards her room after grabbing a water bottle from the fridge.

John spent the first few minutes folding and placing all the fabric away while Jian finished up the hem. Once he was done he sat down on the bed to take a break. Jian glanced over at him before she got up and moved the dress over to the dress form.

"John what do you think?" Jian asked as she looked at the now complete dress. It was a white chiffon dress that had long flowing sleeves that reached the floor connected to a row of braided fabric that created a plunging neckline as the fabric unraveled from the braid.

The top stopped around the waist with another row of braids pulling it towards the back, where the two sides connected to each other and the bottom portion of the dress. The braids had intertwined letting the white sheer fabric after them in long rows as the fabrics in the back were longer than the ones in the front. The front was similar to the back, but it held double slits at the legs that remained closed as the fabrics overlapped one another.

John looked at the dress tilting his head as Jian slowly turned the dress form showing him the barely covered back. He smiled saying, "It's good, it looks like your sketch so that's a plus." Jian nodded as she sat down next to him and he looked at her frown asking, "Is there something you don't like?"

Jian nodded saying, "It's too simple, I feel like it's missing something." John smiled glancing at the other sketches as he got up bringing them to her.

"What's-" she paused as she compared the designs and she laughed before saying, "Oh, I got it, thank you Johnny." She said her and he smiled reaching for them back as she got up searching through the bag of supplies, they had gotten.

She sighed she couldn't find anything to enhance the dress and John smiled asking, "How about using white gold?" His suggestion took a few seconds for her to design, and she nodded saying, "That's perfect, but we already placed the order." He sighed saying, "Jian did you forget, you have me, just tell me the type and length of chains you want, and I'll get you a price."

She nodded getting ready to measure when they hear Jessica call them, "Jian, John lunch is ready come eat before getting back to work." Jian pouted and John smiled saying, "How about you measure, and I'll get you a plate ready." She nodded as he walked out, and she got to measuring.

The rest of the day flew by as Jian gave Johnny the number of chains she required, and he soon left to get them while she started to work on the other dresses.
