White Gold

John returned a few hours later with a small bag and Jian smiled as opened it up to reveal the small sparkling white gold. "Thanks John, how much was it?" Jian asked and he looked away.

She frowned looking up asking him, "John, how much was this?" He gulped and Jian sighed, "Johnny, tell me the price." He looked down at her cold eyes and he smiled saying, "Don't worry about it, you can pay me back later."

"Johnny," Jian said her tone cold as he sighed replying, "It's not plated or coated metal, so it was a bit more expensive, it's about $700." Jian blinked looking up asking, "$700 for 10 feet of chains?"

He nodded and she blinked at him before saying, "Johnny all the other chains combined didn't cost $700, how can you expect me to use this for one dress." He laughed as she glared at him saying, "You think this is funny?" He nodded and she took in a deep breath before asking, "Were these the least expensive chains?" He glanced around the room and Jian sighed placing the bag down before going to sit down.

"Johnny what were you thinking," Jian said as she runs her hand through her messy hair. He smiled walking over to her saying, "I wanted to get you the best one, and don't worry about the money right now, I am sure once the fashion show is complete you will get tons of clients."

He reached for her hands as he knelt down asking her, "Was it really too much?" Jian looked him her heart was beating faster than ever before, and she couldn't if it was because of the stress, the anger, or John's expression.

She huffed out a breath reaching for his head smacking it gently before saying, "Just this once, and you probably won't get your money back until a few months later so fair warning and thank you."

He nodded and she smiled letting go of his other hand as he got up. John moved the dress form while Jian got the chains from the bag. She started by pinning the chain to the different areas on the dress before stepping back to take a look.

"It's gorgeous," Jian said softly looking at the added chains on the waist of the dress the created small scallops. John nodded as he smiles, and a question popped up on his mind.

"Jian, how is the model going to get into the dress?" John asked and Jian frowned as she looked at the dress form. "The measurements of the dress match hers and the openness of this dress makes it easier to wear so I thought it wouldn't need closers," Jian said turning to the back of the dress form he nodded suggesting, "you are right but why don't you hold up to attach the chains till the fitting has happened."

Jian nodded saying, "That seems like a good idea, and I can also finish up this pattern for the corset." He smiled asking her, "Anything I can help with?" Jian nodded saying, "I need to make a petticoat for this ballgown dress so I would love it if you could cut some tule for me, here let me show you how."

She explained to Johnny what she wanted and soon he got to work as she continued to create many mockups of a corset to find the perfect shape. The two worked till dinner and afterwards they spent the evening working some more.
