Companion

After recieving the compensation from the manager, he thanked and bid them goodbye.

He looked over the quest once more and was surprised of the Developers generosity, even if he deserves it. Not being able to get quests from normal towns is a big disadvantage to the point of crippling. Well even if it was deserved, it certainly isn't going to be easy.

He remembers obtaining a tool that can help him find materials for either forging or pill making. He took it out of his inventory and saw a golden eye hovering above his hand. He read the description and it did not disappoint.

Grade: Divine

(Originated from a Fallen God that was known for his ocular powers and perfect combat style. Can be equipped. Cannot be dropped. Only usable once infused with user.)

Main effects: Can be used to find a flaw in your opponents. Can shoot lasers from your eyes that's as hot as the fire of creation. Helps you locate materials for forging and pill making.

Additional effect: Sheilds your status from blessed and non-blessed people's appraisals.

After reading the description, he felt weird because he thought he received an entirely different thing. It can still do its purpose but seeing the description, the material finding thing can be said to only be a bonus effect and not its main effect.

....

Somewhere in a building, a big and gruff 30 year old man wa sweating buckets.

' That item was supposed to be obtained on a quest, not as compensation! If the bosses find out about this, I'm gonna be yeeted out of my office IMMEDIATELY!' But then he remembered the properties of the item and relaxed a little. Since nobody can find out about the eye neither in game players or developers can find out about it. He only hopes that nobody finds out.

....

After reading that he needs to infuse it, he dropped some blood on it and magically, as if it was alive, the golden eye melted and entered both his eyes. At first nothing was felt until he started to feel heat in his eyes as if they were being melted and poked constantly by sharp metal needles.

The torture lasted a whole hour and afterwards, he started to feel comfort around his head as if he was being massaged by the most beautiful angel in the world. After opening his eyes, he was surprised to see everything so clearly. Additionally, he was able to see through things as if he has an x ray in his eyes and was able to see things as far as 10000 meters as if he can zoom in and stuff. After 10000 meters it starts to get blurry. As for how he knows that? Let's just say he's a smartass.

He remembers he can shoot lasers from his eyes! He immediately tried to use it and , a buzzing sound was heard as the tree that he was staring at was cut in half as the bottom part catches on fire. He just instinctively tried to use it and he never thought it was that easy.

After a while of experimenting, he remembered what his purpose was in the first place. He activated his eyes once more and instinctively tried to use the material finding aspect of the item. After a while nothing happened so he gave up but immediately afterwards, he saw a green hue in the distance and curiously went that way immediately. After a while of walking he was near the green hue when suddenly, a blazing lion presented itself before him.

Instead of a normal lion confronting him, it's mane was instead on fire or rather it's mane was fire. Other than the fact that it's tail end was also fire, the lion looked exactly like a normal lion. He stares at the creature, careful not to show any aggression towards it. He looked at it for a second before deciding on what to do. He can kill the lion and get whatever it was protecting, or tame it and get whatever it was protecting. Of course, he picked the latter, other than the fact that he can gain more by doing this, it's also awesome to have a lion as a companion. But doing it isn't exactly as easy as saying it.

He remembered the taming system in the game from the forums, it was said that in order to tame a beast, you need to either befriend it or defeat it. In this case he needs to defeat it before communicating with it verbally or telepathically and convince it to be your companion thorugh a soul contract.

After deciding on what to do, he smirks and says out loud, " here goes nothing!"

It responds with a bestial
