Chapter 4

Yuwa city was full of hustle and bustle in the early morning with shopkeepers setting up their stores and people walking to and fro to do their daily tasks. This was quite a small place so people here were quite familiar with each other somewhat.

Being close to the forest, there were also many powerful adventurers using it as a place to rest and buy things they needed.

Walking towards the city, Shiro felt like everything was quite novel. This world didn't seem as developed as her original world and the people around here all looked different from one another. Many had a variety of skin colours, heights, and sizes but all of them were happily mingling together creating a warm atmosphere.

While convenient, it had to be mentioned that the language the people of this world spoke was not the same as the ones spoken in Shiro's original world. However, that useless God that had sent her here had conveniently given her the ability to speak the language.

Seeing the strange signs and certain similarities Shiro could basically determine that she was most likely not the only person to have ever been sent to this world. So many things bore similarities to her previous world including the way the houses were built, the roads and other small details like the way the guards were dressed.

Most likely one or several others like her had been sent here in the past due to the same reason or for other reasons influencing the way this world developed. This was not necessarily a bad thing since it had given them well thought out methods of making their lives better.

Shiro curiously asked Mika who was standing next to her, "Is this where you guys live?"

Mika smiled at her and said, "Yeah, this is Yuwa, it's a small place but everyone here is friendly and the beasts from the forest usually never go out so it's quite safe."

There were several guards stationed throughout the outer area of the city and also a barricade but everyone didn't look very worried or anxious about attacks so Mika was likely right.

Shiro glanced over at Rock and Alexis who were busy talking with the guards.

To enter the city, an identity card had to be shown, Shiro didn't have this so she had to get one made. Rock and Alexis had volunteered to do it for her but Shiro was personally confused as to why. Although she hadn't shown her ability to teleport in front of them exactly, they should have had a guess in their heart.

Anyway, Shiro was content as long as she could find something to eat. An identity card would probably be useful for that...probably...

Seeing Shiro unconsciously drooling and knowing she was likely thinking about food again Mika couldn't help but smile. This strange girl seemed to love her food very much. To be honest, Mika was still shocked that a little girl like this had such power and could have grown up on her own inside the forest. How did she even survive until now? Also, how did she appear at the place they were at before when fighting the Flaming Boar. However, she never asked, after all, they hadn't even known each other for that long so it'd be wrong to pry.

While she was thinking about food and other matters, Shiro felt the air tighten around her. She immediately looked up and saw a huge shadow in the sky. It wasn't just her, many other also saw a huge shadow. To be more precise it was many shadows grouped together.

The ones creating those shadows were a group of large winged beasts. They had the heads of eagles and wings on their backs. Those were Griffins.

"G-Griffins!"

"Look there's people riding them!"

"You're right and they're dressed in armour too."

"Ahh it's just the Griffin Squad of the kingdom you lot, have you forgotten they come to the forest to collect herbs and hunt once in a while."

"Well yeah but..."

Listening to the people clamouring away about the Griffin Squad passing over on top of them. Shiro looked at them and thought to herself, "Griffins huh, I haven't tasted that before but they don't look all that nice..."

Shaking her head to stop thinking about food, she then looked closely at the armoured people riding the Griffins. These people wore shiny armour with a crest on their chest. They were all carrying lances or swords and looked serious. Although they were quite high in the air, Shiro could see their expressions quite clearly, they seemed to be a bit worried about something...

While Shiro was immersed in her thoughts, up above within the Griffin Squad, the leader flying in front was serious. The man's name was Mikel, news had reached the King that there was a powerful aura coming from this forest. A powerful Spirit King who sensed this fainted when he sensed it and immediately notified the King when he woke up.

The Griffin Squad was immediately mobilised in response to this aura because it could be that a powerful beast had awaked or evolved. This was quite dangerous since the true forces of the kingdom was quite far from this forest and wouldn't be able to reach in time if that beast started attacking.

But there was also speculation that it could have been a powerful warrior or treasure. Either way, the King wanted to know.

Mikel was worried about it being a powerful beast. It had to be known that in this group of his, he was the strongest and was merely an early stage Spirit King. Each of these cultivation levels could be divided as such. The Spirit King who sensed the aura was at the peak of the realm and could almost breakthrough. If someone that powerful fainted merely from sensing the aura then it didn't need to be mentioned how powerful that being or thing was...

Being a trained warrior, Mikel immediately felt a stinging sensation coming from below as if he was being observed. He subconsciously looked down and saw...a white-haired girl with deep red eyes looking at him. As if she could see him looking back, she smiled. For some reason, Mikel's back felt cold and even the Griffin below him started to get agitated.

That smile seemed to be a normal smile so Mikel didn't know why that happened but his years of training told him one thing. That girl was dangerous...
