Chapter I

Eyes half shut and the sun kept bugging them, that's when she knew her going back to sleep was not an option anymore.

She got up and started her never-ending trip, going through life the same as days go by, simply.

The school gates were waiting for her like they were some kind of distant relatives, you've known them for as long as you can remember but yet they're still "distant".

The same old faces colliding with new ones were crawling down the hall like ants, she tagged along because as they had their business for the day, she had her own too.

Some small red head jumped out of nowhere screaming :

- Aelin, there're muffins on sale on the coffee shop near our dorms, wanna' join me after classes?

-Becka, you sure you don't teleport yourself sometimes?

-Sure as hell but you missed the question or the answer? She said to me with the upper-eyebrow expression plastered on her face.

-I guess I can show up for an hour or two..

-Great! Me and Josh will be there at seven, same table in the back.

-See ya' loose-screws!

-Bye old man!

As she saw her red hair flowing through the halls like some kind of fish she laughed to herself thinking of what an airhead she can be, yet glad that she's her best friend.

Aelin went out of school as soon as the bell rang and the next think she knew was that the muffins were damn good and that she just missed the buss that could spare her some walking ,thus now she goes by foot to her home. Simple day, simple life. Little did she knew that her entire existence would end up far from simplicity.

And it started when she met a man. On a dark street, 11 pm , a man fell down with his blood flooding the ground like a river and another one stood up, put his hands in his pockets and stared as if it was some kind of a movie.

Aelin was not sure if the smirk on his lips was because he killed the guy for sure or because he just thought that her walking down that street at the exact same moment was such a bad move.

The only think she was sure about was the fact that her legs almost gave in as she kept on running, her heart was pounding madly and that it was just their first encounter.
