Chapter II

Days were going by as if time stopped, they were hard to cope with merely because she felt frozen, like a hard piece of rock that had no purpose other than existing. But when the light started to fade and the dark joined the view it all comes to an end. The fear was crawling like claws on her mind, she was no longer frozen, she got agitated, terrified of the unknown.

The fact that she was not able to tell what could happen in any second made her want to hide even from her damn self.

It was 7 o'clock in the morning, the sun was up and she could finally calm down a bit. There were like 50 minutes left until the buss comes. She got up and took a long cold shower to cool herself down and clean the sweat that covered her entire body like a second skin.

The buss was full of noise but she felt reassured about it, at least she was not alone. Her first class for the day was English History the clock was friendly enough to allow her to get to school in time. The dean came in and started to talk about some kind of project involving Italy. That was the only thing that she could get out of the whole thing because the view outside the windows got all her attention.

It was a dull sky that day, the sun slept under the clouds like some kind of old man on a summer afternoon, the clouds were gray with dark ends like paint, it was going to rain, she could tell.

Suddenly the whole class got suspiciously noisy pulling her out of her daze and by the time Aelin strolled her eyes up front it all came crushing down like a storm of pieces of broken glass cutting through her thoughts and mind madly. She started to tremble, heart beating fast as a horse on its biggest race, the sad part was that the horse was not ready for it, he didn't even wanted to be there in the first place, but she understood that when she walked on that street in that night she just crossed the starting line and it was no turning back. He was gazing at her with the same smirk on his face, the whole thing that happened that night went through her mind like an old movie. She parted her lips unconsciously, eyes staring at the person in front of her as if it was ready to disappear any time. He winked at her like he wanted to make himself seen, he knew that she recalled him and Aelin knew that it was their second encounter.
