Aelin found herself struggling to keep it up with the pace of her own life since he set foot in her class on that day. The world seemed to go on doing just fine without her . She could no longer catch up to sleep, school, friends and pretty much anything else that was a part of actually living.
First class for the day was Chemistry and she was sure that she failed her last test with glory since all she could thing about during that test was how fast can she get home after it, so she turned her paper sheet as blank as her mind when she got in class and saw him sitting beside her seat.
Aelin stood still in the door frame feeling like the classroom got smaller and smaller, one breath at a time. He was gazing outside the window, the lazy sun made his hair shine with gold reflections, his jaw line sharp as hell with his dark brown eyes lost in the view outside.
On a far away note, he was beautiful, she admitted to herself that he was handsome to a dangerous degree, but leaving the physical appearances aside, the mind mattered most, and his was a dark place to wander around.
- Care to share what that pretty little head of yours is thinking so deeply about?
His voice snatched her from her thoughts like an electric shock, and as his eyes locked hers, shivers ran down her back.
Her throat was dry, she swallowed hard, trying to maintain herself from running away. He must have felt her fear since his lips curled up in a cheeky smile. He amused himself based on her reactions, she could tell. He knew how much it takes for her to be able to even stand on her feet in front of him, he knew the amount of power he had on her from the first moment he laid his eyes on her on that dark alley.
- You know.. When someone asks a question, it is polite to answer to that someone, don't you think? He spoke again with that soft yet hard tone of his.
- Kind of hard to take etiquette lessons from someone not quite polite himself. The words rolled out from her tongue like water, not being able to take them back was what lit a small spark inside of her.
- And why am I being called rude for? He spoke sarcastically with that smirk still plastered on his face.
- I could name a few things here and there.
- Be my guest Aelin. He winked at her like it was some kind of inner joke.
Her name. He said her name. It felt so strange to hear it from him, like a curse or something else. It was terrifying to hear it from him, yet she remained calm.
- How did you..
- I know a lot more than that and we both know that you know more than you should have. His smirk vanished and his cold stare hit her like a full blown attack.
They stood in silence for what felt like ages but the bell rang and as the students came in another one went out, running as far away as possible with his damn smirk lingering in the corner of her eyes like he was following her even though she was sure she left him behind in the class.
Here comes the 100 points question:
