"Goodbye, everyone! Take care!"

Hua Meili stood inside the gates as she waved the group goodbye.

Despite the bad premonition, she could feel inside her heart, she let the group go anyway.

As a book wearer, she still believes the plot a little.

No matter what had happened during the past months, she believed that it was her own bad luck and good luck in working.

As the main villain in the story, nothing bad could possibly happen to Jin Hua since he was born with good luck.

Only when meeting the protagonist did his good luck turn into bad luck.

She believes that nothing would happen to them, the plot was still in the early stages and it would not possibly advance without any proper explanation, right?

After Jin Hua's group left, Hua Meili quickly ordered Du Hexi to close the gates and went inside.

Going quickly inside doesn't mean she wanted to follow Jin Hua and his team, again.

She is not going to play today because she wanted to relax (eat), it's been a while since it's been so peaceful like this.

There are no stupid sounds, no sounds of guns, no shouting, no bickering, and most of all no people.

"Sigh.... Such a nice day!!"

Hua Meili ate another slice of pizza leaning on the sofa watching Doraemon.

"Boss Meili!!!"

Pingjun Dao silently sneak a surprise behind her breaking the silence and peace that she just had, her soul almost flew out when he showed up suddenly!

"Sh*t! I forgot about this other idiotic person! I forgot about the most idiotic one!" Hua Meili cursed inside her head.

She almost forgot that the most idiotic and denser than lead guy was still hanging around the mansion.

Who can blame her for forgetting about him?

He had been hiding in his room ever since Zhongcheng Qingren beat some sense in him the other day for being too close to his ChenChen.

This event left a deep trauma in him so he hid inside his room meditating, and doing his best to strengthen his body.

A day would come when he would not be beaten till he looked like a pig by Zhongcheng Qingren!

"Oh, Dao, are you done meditating?" Hua Meili sternly asked.

Hua Meili discovered that Pingjun Dao had been keeping a stash of ZC crystals he had collected from the Mutants his previous teammates had killed and some were his kill.

Pingjun Dao doesn't know the use of the zombie crystals but he was sure it was pretty useful so he kept them with him all this time.

Pingjun Dao from the start was not an evolved human but maybe because of his contact with the zombie crystals, he was forced into his half-state.

Yes, half-state.

Pingjun Dao wasn't exactly an ordinary human, he was half of both.

After using the zombie crystals and some other torture means especially devised by Hua Meili, Pingjun Dao finally became a Phase 1 evolutionary human.

This event only strengthened Hua Meili's belief that even ordinary humans could evolve and develop abilities that far exceeded humanity.

After all, all the humans on Earth had contracted the virus. Some just awakened them and some don't, how to awaken their abilities is all up to them.

They just have to be careful while awakening because instead of awakening as an evolutionary human, they might awaken as a Mutant.

That will be a laugh for a whole century!

"Heheeh... I'm still not done. I still have 10 more to go."

"Then, why are you here?"

"Well, I was hungry. Tehee!" Pingjun Dao coyly said.

Seeing a grown muscled man acting coy in front of her, Hua Meili does not know whether to vomit or punch him in the gut.

Hua Meili looked at him with a deadpan expression.

"Dao... alright, go eat your fill and meditate after. Don't slack on your training. Soon, I will be sending you out for training."

"What?! Are you sending me out there? Nooo!! Boss Meili! I won't slack off anymore just please don't send me out there!" Pingjun Dao pleaded almost getting down on his knees.

Hua Meili rolled her eyes seeing him cry out so exaggeratedly.

Sometimes, she could not believe how there is a living human like him living in this world.

"Do you expect to live inside this mansion your entire life? You need practical training so you can become stronger. Don't worry, you will be going with Hexi. He will be there to be your guide and also your trainer."

Realizing that she was not going to throw him out, Pingjun Dao immediately brightened up recovering from his sorry state, as the overcast dark clouds above his head had cleared away.

"Yes, you are right! I will go out and become stronger!!" Pingjun Dao said fired up and quickly went upstairs not even eating before leaving.

"You should. My group only consists of strong people." Hua Meili said to the disappearing back of Pingjun Dao.

Dark clouds passed her eyes before they disappeared like it was never been there.

She got back to eating her mocha-flavored ice cream and watch Doraemon forgetting Pingjun Dao altogether.

It's been an uneventful day for Hua Meili and the tv was her only saving grace, she turned off the tv bored of watching cartoons.

She stood up and stretched her body.

Looking up, she saw Du Hexi carrying some sheets and pillows in his hand.

Upon closer observation, she could see that it was hers!

"Where are you taking my beddings?" Du Hexi stop in front of her and gave his usual smile but this time she could feel that his eyes were colder than usual, or was she just imagining it?

"My lady, I'm taking it for laundry."

"You just changed them, why are you changing them again?" Hua Meili incredulously looks at him.

Du Hexi's smile deepened.

"They need washing. It seems that an unaware animal dirtied the beddings so this servant is taking them out to wash."

Hua Meili wanted to question him further but seeing that there seems to be something wrong with her black shadows these days, even today, she just let him be and took a walk outside the Mansion to breathe some fresh air.

Awoooooooohhhh!

Upon stepping out of the Mansion, a sound of a dog could be heard from a faraway distance away from the Manor.

"What could that be?"

It had been a while since Hua Meili encountered wild animals ever since the Apocalypse started, and her interest was peak hearing a distraught animal sound.

"Should I go find out? I'm bored out of my wits anyway, I'll just entertain myself then!"

Hua Meili disappeared from her spot in an instant, her speed was too fast that she had already reached the outside of the Manor. She was already 10 meters away from where she previously stood.

What was awaiting her outside was a cute…secret.
