The Picky Merchant

One difference between a tourist and a player is the way they travel. Players can only use their feet, ride a horse, other beast, or use the fly skill. But tourist can simply buy any machine, use teleport scrolls or buy the teleport skill.

After taking all the treasures in the boss skeleton's cave, I have been running straight to the capital. By the way, this kingdom is called Tex. One of the small kingdoms in the eastern continent. Tex area is small compared to other kingdoms with only 15 cities.

From notan city to the capital, it would take a week on horseback. That is if no monsters attack you on the way. If you want to survive the travel to the capital, you would need a minimum of 12 knights with an average level of 150. That means it will be a while before anyone from notan city can go to the capital.

The capital is a gigantic city enclosed with 50 meter tall walls. Many soldiers can be seen on top of the walls and dozens of knights riding griffins can be seen patrolling the skies. Theres several long lines on each gate. I picked the line and waited my turn to enter the city.

"ID."

Although this soldier is rude he is rude to everybody who isnt a noble or armed to the teeth. That is why I ignored his tone and gave my ID.

I gave him 1 gold coin and then added another 3 gold coins. That brought a smile to his face. So he gave me a map and an advice.

"If you plan to sell stuff, sell it at the adventurer guild, that way you wont be charged with taxes. If your planning to buy things you can only buy what your personal inventory can carry. As buying more than what your inventory can carry would incur taxes. If you still plan to buy then i suggest you register as a merchant because that way the taxes is lower. Good luck."

Heeding the advice of the soldier, i entered the adventurers guild and sold everything except for my potions. The amount of gold and silver in my possession is increased significantly. It seems that even if the boss skeleton's level is a bit low, the amount of treasures he got isnt a joke.

"Can you recommend a decent and cheap inn?" I asked the guild receptionist. For some reason i cant see any signs from any npc. I think its because i dont have the required level to accept any quests.

"This guild has an inn and its quite cheap. 5 silvers a night and free breakfast. How long would you like to stay?" The cute elf girl replied in a sweet voice.

"Just one night please." (Archie)

I gave them my adventurers ID card along with 5 silver coins and waited for my room number and key.

"Heres your key sir archie. Your room number is 12, third floor. Theres a public bath behind the guild and a pub in front of the guild. Enjoy your stay."

She returned my ID card while giving other information. I noticed that she was looking at my name and level. Well, it cant be helped. An archer with the name Archie is pretty weird. Not to mention that i was able to traverse a monster infested area with my current level.

Typically, during such a situation most would try to explain. But why should I explain to her. I simply took my card and headed outside to look for the inn.

My destination is the marketplace. My slime evolving stopped my plans to create an intelligence guild. I really thought that I can continue increasing my speed until it becomes a cheat. But theres a posibility that as my slime evolves then its ability will be changed. Ive got to prepare for that.

The items that can be bought in the capital will be remarkably stronger and better than those available in notan city. I can certainly make lot of money that way.

I found the an alchemy store and went inside. Theres many different potions like the blaze potion. It can incinerate any ice attribute monster below level 40. Costs 5 gold coins. The potions that gives weak buffs are cheap and not sold in notan city. This will be the stuff that I sell back in notan city.

Theres lots of cool stuff in the capital. From the artifact store I found a ring that can disguise me as an npc merchant. The disguise will be removed once I attack someone. This is perfect. Although it costs 25% of my total coins. Its worth it though. I also bought many ring type artifacts that has no level restriction.

After ive used up all of my gold and silver coins im down to copper coins. I bought bread with my remaining money and even if its price is increased with tax I can still afford it.

I went back to the guild and slept. When morning came I ate, took a bath in the public bath and started my long run back into notan city.

I entered some caves on the way and managed to pick up a couple of eggs of strong monsters. This will sell for a lot. Monster eggs can be tamed by a beast master or I can just auction it.

When I reached notan city its time to log-out. I entered an inn and dreamed of selling my potions and artifacts to cute girls or any guild that is hostile to Tudor guild.
