Even if Dale promised to take one day at a time to build whatever relationship she got with Ed, she never thought that each day would bring hardship and conflict to her life. Each day she would receive threats and harsh words from Kylene and her gang. Ever since Kylene saw how close Ed and Dale is she started to bully Dale non-stop. But Kylene would make sure that Ed is not around each time they would gang up on Dale. Just like now wherein Dale had to change with them on their locker room for their upcoming dance class.
"Look who's here girls. Our favorite playmate. Do you really crave Ed's attention that much that you don't really want to stay away from him even though I already told you too many times?" Kylene asked this while grabbing Dale's hand tightly.
"I told you already that we're only friends and Ed is just being friendly with me," Dale is trying to get rid of Kylene's hands to no avail.
"I don't care if you and Ed are just friends. What I'm telling you is to stay away from him," Kylene then pushed Dale until her side bumped on the sink and Dale felt a sudden pain that all she could do is cry.
"I have been warning you and you are still not listening. Don't wait for me to lose my patience because you won't really like what I will do to you," Kylene said with hatred.
"You only have until the end of this week or else you will regret that you went against me," Kylene went out of the room after punching Dale in her stomach while she is being held back by two other girls from Kylene's group.
There was nothing that Dale can do except curl into a fetal position on the floor while supporting her stomach where the pain is centered. Dale know to herself that she can't avoid Ed even though how hard she'll try. She can't think of any excuse to stay away from Ed that he will accept. And ultimately she does not want to lose whatever she have with Ed. Dale decided to fix herself and go out of the locker room as well thinking that Ed might look for her if she would come late to their dance class.
