Chapter 624: The Big Transformation of the Wild Boar

Translator: Abyssruler Editor: Lucas

Oli instinctively looked at Wang Zheng. In her sub-consciousness, Wang Zheng was her first friend here, a reliable friend.

Wang Zheng nodded, "Go ahead, they will not eat you."

"Tsk tsk, are you serious, Oli, you have a fiancé, don't flirt with other men."

Ai Xiaolu this big mouth, almost made Wang Zheng want to kill her. Snow Li was laughing at the side; in her heart she was impressed. Xiaolu's move was impressive, 2 targets with 1 shot, reducing one of her competitors.

Actually from the start, Snow Li felt that something was wrong. This Oli was the typical type who lacked love, and Wang Zheng this guy emitted a warm and reliable aura from top to toe. This was too much for girls. Besides, Oli and Olivios had close to zero interactions. This was too dangerous!

"Senior Xiaolu, are you asking me to pay!"

"Aiya, now all those in debt are big guys, but, your big sister me, I'm not afraid of debts, who is afraid of who!"As she said, she straightened her back, showing off her ample bosoms, her aura strong and confident.

When women were in a group, they became more daring, but Wang Zheng could not just ignore all the rules.

Then Oli was brought away by a group of girls like that. To do what specifically? That was a mystery.

Yan Ge did not join them; they were 2 types of people. You had to admit that the girls' clique had clear boundaries. But they were quite capable too, they obviously could not get along yet shared a table without any change in their expressions. Anyway, Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan were already numb to these.

They had physical education class in the afternoon.

The so-called physical education class, to Wang Zheng and his group, was most likely a lesson on fighting techniques. The higher end the mecha, the higher its demands for the pilot. Actually military school from various countries had all specifically developed their own styles of fighting, whether it was military fighting styles or various culturally unique inherited fighting styles. Except, the students did not know how the physical education class here was going to be like.

When they reached the lesson venue indicated by the Skylink, Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan kept their cauldrons. Now the 2 of them could use it very skillfully. Without cauldrons, it was too inconvenient in Inner Roland, it was like not having horses in the ancient times.

Except… this place did not look like a place to fight at all.

Their classroom was ordinary, except that there was a human skeletal model on every table in the classroom. Surrounding them were enlarged human skeleton models as well as various models of organs. There was a large analysis chart on the wall.

"F*ck, is this a classroom or a haunted house. If we come here in the night, even if we don't get scared to death, we would at least be scared half to death. "Zhang Shan said. After a while, Zhang Shan suddenly had an inspiration. "But this is a good place for a date. Maybe it will be quite exciting."

Wang Zheng really wanted to kick him away. This guy was in heat for too long.

Students streamed in gradually. Was this physical education class actually pure theoretical? Perhaps they were going to analyze the human structure?

This seemed too normal, as a warrior, there was nothing wrong with understanding the body structure but at the Elites Academy X, this was a little too rudimentary.

However, they realized that the people here were all very serious. Also, Snow Li and the others were attending too. This was a compulsory class, which was obviously very important.

At the Elite Academy X, theory classes were usually carried out as lectures or tutorials. Those who have missed the classes could watch using the teaching records. What was being discussed all depended on the tutor's mood.

Very quickly, the classroom was almost full. … Obviously some people did not belong to this class yet they actually came here to listen.

Zhang Shan directly lay down on the first row of seats. This guy definitely was a dead pig not being afraid of boiling water. Very clearly, he was here to occupy seats!

Yes, to occupy seats!

To occupy seats for girls was honorable, to go to lengths for girls, you had to give it your all!

Actually if not for seeing Wang Zheng who was sitting beside him, Zhang Shan might most likely be lying in the infirmary now groaning away. However, seeing Wang Zheng's calm face, no one even questioned him.

Even a pig-head would know that this Wang Zheng was not one to be bullied. If not for necessity or for fame, they had better leave him alone.

This was a person that Olivios wanted to handle. Why bother to attract trouble.

At first they thought that Snow Li and the others were going to be late, then there were crashes coming from outside. One after another cauldrons crashed to the ground.

Melodious laughter came from outside the door. Snow Li and the others had arrived. Wang Zheng was also puzzled. Don't Ai Xiaolu and De Fulei have their own classes to attend? Why were they following Snow Li the whole day like her left and right hand generals?

Everyone's eyes brightened with the appearance of beauties. Putting Snow Li aside, who definitely was a gold level goddess, the other 2 were seniors. One did not provoke seniors, this was the basic rule of survival in the Academy.

While snatching seats from seniors were not that good, but who cared. Besides, they were 2 big beauties.

But at this moment, another girl walked out from behind the 3 of them.

Instantly, a stifling feeling rushed towards them. Where did this flower-like exquisite little Loli come from?

"Who is this, I only occupied 4 seats." Zhang Shan was stunned. This little Loli was really cute, especially her pair of big cute eyes. How could he describe, it was like a cloud of mist, difficult to let people see clearly, yet had a very pure lively feeling. It really made her very lovable.

"This is… Oli…" Zhang Shan finally realized.

Oh my god!

Suddenly, Zhang Shan started to be jealous of Olivios this asshole. F*ck, why did different people have such different lives. She was such a beauty and she was the one pursuing him. He heard that there were even more. What kind of world was this. He should just blow up the world with explosives!

Little Oli was not used to this type of short skirt. You had to admit that Ai Xiaolu had an invincible fashion sense. In the past, Oli dressed like a guy, now she changed into a sky blue mini skirt, and a rice-colored royal style top. On the sides, there were detailed stitches of roses and her hair had obviously been taken care of. She still had her fringe but it was slightly puffed up neatly, cute and delicate like a doll.

Instantly, many male comrades had a different look in their eyes. A Little Loli with that uncomfortable and fearful yet shy look appealed to the wolfish nature in that group of men.

Then Snow Li took Little Oli's hand and sat her beside Wang Zheng in front of everyone.

"Here, returning in a whole piece, how about it? Cute right!" Snow Li laughed. Everyone's ears stood up immediately.

F*ck, why did this Wang Zheng have such a good life, this pervert might have realized little Oli's beauty early on and developed a relationship on purpose.

A**hole! Insidious! Sly!

——Let me do it! This was perhaps what everyone else was thinking in their hearts.

Wang Zheng rubbed his nose. Why did this sentence seem to ignite fierce debates so easily?

Snow Li did not care; happiness and excitement filled her eyes. "Zhang Shan go sit by that side."

Zhang Shan originally wanted to sit beside Wang Zheng but upon hearing he could only shake his head helplessly. As his brother, how could he block his own brother's romance, but why did he feel like kicking Wang Zheng?

Chapter 625: The Beauty in Violence

Translator: Abyssruler Editor: Lucas

To be seated between Ai Xiaoyu and De Fulei felt not bad indeed… There was a faint smell of sweetness wafting.

"Could it be that this guy saved the Milky Way in his past life? Could the legends be true!"

"How did Snow Li fall for such a guy!"

"F*ck, to think that they were in each other's embrace. The thought just infuriates me!"

Zhang Shan silently thought that they might not be able to take it if there knew that Oli was Olivios' fiancé. This Wang Zheng was indeed very bold.

Wang Zheng honestly could not care less. The Professor was here already

Was he considered Elite Academy X's longest standing Professor?

With a beard like Confucius, he also possessed snow white eyebrows.. It should not be dyed right?

This old man was full of energy. His face flushed red and looked like he was in great physical health.

He looked around at the crowd of students, there were quite a number of new faces. "Let me bring you through the physical education class today."

He wrote a big "Qi" word on the board. This was an ancient word with origins from Earth. Apart from those from Earth and the Solar System, many did not know this word. Meaning, only Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan could recognize it.

Even though Zhang Shan studied physics, he was passionate about calligraphy. He himself had also enjoyed practicing it in his free time.

The rest looked blank, oblivious to this word.

"This was the first step which mankind had grasped to realize the power of mysterious energy. " Li Poshan said while point at the word.

"Humans are unique creatures, who can control two kinds of power – the body and the soul." Li Poshan pointed at his head, obviously not talking about the brain.

"Atlanteans originated from Earth, but they chose another path, which was to concentrate on the development of the soul. However, they finally realised it was a dead end, and fortunately backtracked on their path. The nourishment of both the soul and body is required for one to develop to the pinnacle. The transcendence of the spirit is illusory. Only the transcendence of the body is truly real."

Li Poshan made everyone feel muddle headed the moment he started speaking….. What had physical education have to do with all these semantics?

Nonetheless, Wang Zheng knew too well what he was trying to express. In other words, he finally found a true Professor.

Atlanteans were supreme in their development of their spirit and soul, but why were they still unable to communicate with the universe?

Their bodies could not handle this evolutionary step. This unique ability had long disappeared from their genes, similar to the lost natural instincts of an animal. Their power had been rechanneled through scrolls instead.

Humans were different. Although spiritually lacking compared to Atlanteans, they were able to communicate with nature. That was also because of their genetic abilities to utilize Ability X.

How strongly one could communicate with the universe was related to one's physical strength. With spiritual enhancement came physical enhancement, due to a heightened sense of motivation. One's ability to tolerate and become at peace would also increase to attain a natural inner balance.

To be able to attain inner balance meant progressing down a path to becoming a true god!

Now, Wang Zheng was lacking the determining factor — he did not have the training methodology to do so.

Standing on the stage, Li Poshan was explaining the existence of Qi. "The more you believe in its existence, the more apparent it becomes. The human body's first step of progress towards the peak is to practice Qi, and that is exactly what I am going to teach."

"Professor, are you being serious? We have to be accurate and fierce in battles. Whatever you call Qi, what has it got to do with our Ability X? We just want to strengthen our Ability X!"

Someone said, apparently baffled by Li Poshan's logic, especially after hearing that it originated from Earth. What era were they in… to fish out ancient teachings from Earth. What a worthless place this was.

Li Poshan smiled faintly, "why don't I just demonstrate."

Casco stood up and moved forward. This 2.36 meter muscle packed man would have been even more unimaginable with Ability X. What he craved was real power, Qi was just for child's play.

Li Poshan retrieved Casco's statistics on his professor skylink. Casco said "Sir, is it alright if I speak freely right, you won't kick me out of your class just because I challenged you right…?"

Although he was extremely well developed, he was not stupid and could tell that the professor was threatening him.

Li Poshan laughed, "What? Of course not. To question is the most basic skill any student should possess. Now, I have a volunteer to demonstrate the existence of Qi with."

Casco was stunned, "What? You want to fight me? Nah then I'm not doing it. I can't afford your medical bills if your old limbs break."

Li Poshan exploded in laughter. "Of course not, how can you fight an old man like myself, just stand still and try to fend off my attack."

"Haha, okay you can take your frustration out on me, just don't faint from exhaustion."

Casco lifted his hands. Shaking his head lightly, Li Poshan went forward and pushed his palm outwards, his silver hair shining.

Bang…

Casco shot outwards like a round being fired out of a cannon, creating a gigantic hole in the wall:

Everyone was left speechless. A small portion of the audience was not too alarmed. How else could he have become a professor? For him to strike without having practiced in a long while, he was ruthless. The only thing was that his logic behind Qi was difficult to understand.

With dust clouding his face, Casco quickly made it back to the classroom, bowed at Li Poshan politely and returned to his seat.

Without Ability X, he could send Casco flying at this old age… what the heck was he actually teaching?

Could one immediately become stronger after learning to control this strange power..

Wang Zheng could immediately sense the energy waves coming from Li Poshan. It was indeed Qi. Even though it was not considered a high level of mastery, it was immaculately applied.

"This is the power of Qi, it will not lose to Ability X if you can fully grasp it. Moreover, there will not be a clash of these two abilities. Instead they complement and strengthen each other."

He was able to convey this much more convincingly after the demonstration.

Wang Zheng lips curled up into a faint smile. Listening to Li Poshan's explanation on this difficult topic, the concept sounded foggy to others. Wang Zheng was fooled by his father when he was young, Li Poshan was much more knowledgeable in comparison.

The others were frantically taking down notes, they could not immediately figure out all the questions in their head after the demonstration.

Just like those who had been raised to understand western medicine, there was no way they could fully understand traditional chinese medicine just like that.

Li Poshan was very patient. His textbook was enlightening, it depended on fate whether one could understand what he was talking about. Like Ability X, these were not easy concepts to comprehend.

"Look at your body, I will now show you the eight acupoints. These will be the source of your Qi," Li Poshan said while pointing to the graphics.

These eight points were largely similar to what Wang Zheng's Dad had pointed out in the breathing methods which he had passed down. This adjusted breathing methods would be used to channel Qi.

The longer you sustained the breathing technique, the better the results would be, it was the basic foundations of Qi mastery.

Maybe… he really did save the Milky Way in his past life.

Everyone else in the classroom was frowning, fully wrecking their brains. Zhang Shan looked nonchalant. He was an Earthling and was not new to these concepts. Many humans still preserved these ancient teachings and techniques.

To hear about ancient earth civilization in Roland Garros really made Zhang Shan a little proud. This was glory felt for his mother star.

Li Poshan was pleased with the students response. This was teaching attitude, he was not afraid of being questioned, but wanted his students to have the heart to learn. To have seven or eight in a hundred to be able to grasp his teaching would have satisfied him. Breathing techniques could help sufficiently in foundation building and speed up the learning of higher level techniques, and even propel gifted individuals onto another level.

But…

In this strict classroom environment, there was a lad whose mind was elsewhere, smiling to himself.

Li Poshan elaborated more on the breathing technique. It might be difficult at the start, but could be mastered with persistence. To practice breathing everyday would drive away fatigue and enhance mental capabilities.

Wang Zheng no doubt believed in this. His acceptance was strong and the breathing technique he learned had been a direct reason for this. How else would he have understood the Old Merchant's strange teachings. All of this was because of fate.

The others got more muddle headed as the class progressed, although their desire to grasp these concepts were very strong.

However, Wang Hao noticed Oli did not seem to be entangled. She was a habitual hard worker, and did not see this as an obstacle in learning.

Thinking about Oli's strike, this was not just a usual fighting routine, it was not possible without underlying strength.

Although Wang Zheng was young, he could be considered a master in Qi applications. In terms of concepts and understanding however, he was a rookie. Bonehead was not the best teacher and would also hit him if he did not understand.

This was learning based upon violence!

Chapter 626: The Ceiling is Really Flat

It seemed that barely any time passed but the class had already ended. Li Poshan tried his best to answer all questions.

"Damn… this concept is too tough… To think that being a human did not help!" Zhang Shan shouted in frustration.

Even with all the panic, someone with Ability X would find it easier to accept Qi than others, but to cultivate and internalize it was too difficult, especially when it came to something so natural like breathing.

"Zhang Shan, don't worry, Professor Li's class is famous for being difficult. Maybe only seven or eight in a hundred could understand. Those who could get it would at best reach an amateur level, " Xiaolu said.

"Senior Xiao, can you give me some advice?" Zhang Shan asked.

Xiaolu's face reddened, "I don't understand it very well too, or I would have entered Xuan Class-1 already."

Oli soon forgot the awkwardness that came with cross-dressing, restored her natural self and kept shaking her head.

"Oli, my head is dizzy," Snow Li said.

"It's weird, it's different from what I learnt," said Oli. "My family members usually start training something similar when they are three to five years old, but the acupoints and method seems different."

"What… you mean I can't even compare to a three year old?" Zhang Shan thundered in agitation.

Oli shook her head. "No, we used electricity to help open the Qi channels when we were young."

Zhang Shan's jaws dropped, "So cruel, what if you accidentally die?"

The crowd glared at him for his audacity to ask such a thing.

Oli seemed indifferent, "Casualties are inevitable.."

It was no wonder the Arbiter Republic was so fierce. This was definitely not an ordinary way of thinking. Even Oli might have the heart of a monster.

A suitable level of electric current was indeed a way to open acupoint passages within the body. In our times, it was extremely difficult to create an environment to channel Qi, apart from that it required considerable skill and could cause permanent damage if not executed well. It seemed that only Arbiter would do something like this.

That said, Oli was definitely one of the best.

Although the class was over, everyone was still struggling, but were not willing to give up albeit the smallest bit of enlightenment.

In a World of Saints, there were many methods that could be employed to train oneself, it was as easy as using a card. Once the Qi passageways had been established, no fool would waste time training. Although the barrier was not set too high, the simplest path could be quite problematic, even to geniuses.

Someone once asked Li Poshan how he viewed the cultivation techniques in the World of Saints. Yet he opted not to comment and mentioned that only what could truly be grasped in one's hand was what was truly real.

Many wanted to find inspiration in the World of Saints. Some might have found what they were looking for, while some others might have failed to. Only one thing was certain, everyone kept it to themselves.

Wang Zheng felt neutral. He likened it to the faithful waiting of a loved one. The inheritance of ancient civilisation was not built on one day. To be accurate, it was present in three planets within the solar system. Achilles, Lear, Lie Xin, whatever they might be doing, should feel the same way as him.

They did not eat dinner together. Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan were on their way back. Zhang Shan could not stop practicing his strokes. "Wang Zheng, I think I get it. But I am not so sure. How do I put it, should I ask someone to guide me?"

How could anyone understand Zhang Shan, Wang Zheng barely understood him too. Despite that, Zhang Shan's talent was impressive.

Wang Zheng smiled, "Your thinking is correct."

"Oh?" Zhang Shan's eyes lit up.

"The breathing method is actually a way of cultivating Qi. There are thousands of way to go about it, but you've got to find a suitable rhythm that works for yourself."

"Ohh.. the professor said that this thing should not be tampered with or it would cause internal imbalance."

"It should not be too big a problem now. You can just stop whenever you sense issues."

Wang Zheng laughed, the 8 Point breathing method was actually the simplest and most basic method with no special features. It was used to strengthen the human body, but the effects may be more obvious in Ability X users.

These things still depended on Zhang Shan's self exploration, which was a valuable process.

There was a simple truth in this world: What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

Zhang Shan found strange comfort in Wang Zheng's smile. F*ck, why was he getting so worried for nothing, they were already in Elite Academy X! Going back a few years, he could not even dream of entering such a place. Here he was now, alongside the next generation of leaders of the galaxy.

But where were the opportunities?

Along the way, Zhang Shan did not speak and was still struggling with his breathing technique. Wang Zheng did not disturb him any further. Today had been an impactful day, and the best time for Zhang Shan to gain enlightenment. He might carve out an opportunity for himself today.

The cultivation of Qi depended on one's rhythm. One hundred people's cultivation would result in one hundred different results. Contrary to what Li Poshan said, this was something mighty and dangerous, but one needed to approach with caution or suffer lasting damage.

Although he was walking, his consciousness was elsewhere.

Wang Zheng was stunned. Geniuses. He had seen plenty. He himself was a super genius, but he was still left speechless by Zhang Shan.

To enter an epiphany while walking was a bit unbelievable.

Generally, one would receive an epiphany when meditating but Zhang Shan was walking. Wang Zheng heightened his sense of alertness. It would be a pity if Zhang Shan was interrupted and he might even get injured.

Ah… this guy was walking astray. Wang Zheng had no choice but to speed up his pace and he directly removed a street light from Zhang Shan's path.

Zhang Shan was like a huge calligraphy brush when he was immersed in the World of Saints, drawing the wild plants that he was so passionate about. Stroke by stroke, the various acupoints lined up in sync one by one.

To excel in martial arts was to be self-aware. It was good to be hard working of course, but talent was key.

Wang Zheng did not know whether to cry or laugh. This guy was really something. He was completing his first Qi cycle after listening to his casual words. Moreover, in a public area and in such a flamboyant manner.

A person's personality largely determined the characteristics of his ability. Whether it was spatial movement, or the state he was in now, it had to be consistent with Zhang Shan's personality.

… A tree in front was blocking Zhang Shan's path. Wang Zheng sighed. Just as he was prepared to break the tree into half, there was a change in atmosphere around Zhang Shan.

It was impressive he was still partially conscious of his surroundings despite being in a state of enlightenment.

Zhang Shan finally finished the first cycle of his breathing technique. His pupils were obviously brighter than before.

Wang Zheng looked at Zhang Shan. "I think we should be on our way."

There were signs of flying from the distance, and it was the student union in the form of flash.

"What is with this vandalism, it's tooo unethical!"

Zhang Shan's face laced with innocence. Who was this unethical person, and what had it got to do with him.

Wang Zheng could not help but kick Zhang Shan…. this scumbag had left him to hang!

Back at the dormitory, the room looked much simpler after the new renovation. Anyway, Wang Zheng did not really care about his living conditions, as long as he had a roof over his head. Class was interesting today. It seemed that the emphasis on physical skills still existed, probably even more than it was on Earth. Although it was inherited in the Solar System, it was more useful when used in Arbiter. Although the techniques were cruel, there was an eighty to ninety percent chance they originated from Earth.

The Interstellar Voyaging Era was like the migration of an ant colony, spreading the traces of earth civilization with it. Whether they admitted it or not, no planet could eliminate these traces.

The basic exercises did not interest Wang Zheng. Although Li Poshan might know much more, Old Merchant's words were still nagging in his ears. The Rubik's Cube was his biggest secret and he must never reveal a trace of it.

At this time, the doorbell rang to Wang Zheng's surprise. Did Zhang Shan decided to ask him out for dinner?

Nah.. this guy should be immersed in an epiphany right now and would not be bothered with anything else tonight. Then who could it be?

Opening the door, Wang Zheng was stunned by Snow Li's warm smile.

"Snow, do come in, don't mind the small place."

"It is indeed quite small, don't worry I have prepared something for you," Snow said while checking out the room.

At this time, Wang Zheng noticed a big suitcase at the door.

It was filled with daily necessities. After paying for the rent, Wang Zheng was surviving on the cheapest necessities.

Snow Li started unpacking the luggage by herself. Wang Zheng felt a little embarrassed.

"You don't have to do it, let me do it. I have a favour to ask of you later." Wang Zheng found it difficult to intervene, "We are all friends now, how would I ever reject your favour."

"It is only right for me to do something for you in exchange, don't be so polite." Snow started making his bed. To be honest, these kind of detailed chores were more suited for girls. Snow's back faced Wang Zheng. She was wearing hot pants, the kind that showed off her straight fair legs, and accentuated her moving butt.

Wang Zheng felt blood rushing to his head. He was lacking in self-control recently, and his impulses were roaring like a beast.

He quickly shifted his vision towards the ceiling to distract himself… The ceiling was really flat.

After Snow's tidying up, Wang Zheng's room looked like it was actually a space fit for living. The fridge was filled up, the windows were opened to allow for air ventilation, and the place had a whole new fresh feel.

A good environment always brought about a better mood.

The current state looked quite pleasant.

"Snow, so what was it that you wanted to say?" Wang Zheng smiled.

Chapter 627: Overnight Dormitory Room

Translator: Abyssruler Editor: Lucas

Snow Li did not beat around the bush, and her expression became very serious. "I can't understand the technique Li Poshan taught that day. Can you teach me instead?"

Wang Zheng was nonchalant. Instead, he looked at Snow Li with great interest. "Why do you think I understand?"

"Because… you are Wang Zheng!" Snow Li's eyes were full of tension.

This reason was a reason, at least one which Wang Zheng was willing to accept.

"This body refining technique was actually derived from the Earth, or the Solar System. We have a certain foundation in this so it is not too difficult to understand. First of all, what you have to do is to believe in the existence of Qi and that the human body is truly mysterious. With that you can better understand the foundation of learning this. However I do not agree with this saying." Wang Zheng said

In his opinion, this practice was more like a development of human wisdom, but was not supported with technological development in the same civilization.

"I am willing to accept that, but what I can't understand is why the human body can enhance its strength through this kind of methods while some others fail to." Snow replied.

"First of all, Qi is an invisible force and is always present in the human body. It is not only power, but also life. There are many factors that can affect Qi like physical conditions and mental strength. Mastering the breathing method is to help cultivate your Qi into an optimal condition. For an example, will someone that eats well grow faster than someone that does not?" Wang Zheng explained.

Snow Li nodded, this was still understandable.

"I still cannot feel the breathing method, can you help me with it?"

Wang Zheng smiled and extended two fingers. "There are ways. One is that I forcibly open your acupoints for you, which I don't recommend. It is always better to achieve this yourself. The second is self-understanding. I will give you some assistance, but this depends on chance and luck."

Like Zhang Shan who could not be described with just lucky. It was not the first time this guy impressed him, his speed of learning was amazing and he always strayed away from the conventional path.

"Then let's get started with the second method!" Snow Li said with great enthusiasm.

Wang Zheng coughed. "I will declare this in advance. Not that I want to take advantage of you, but I might intrude into your spiritual space later, and you cannot reject me. This is something you should consider clearly."

"Come on." Snow Li smiled. "I have nothing to hide."

This was not a good thing for him too. He would rather not know at all.

"An epiphany is the body spiritually guiding you. This is the superior method for one to learn this technique. Whether it is to refine your strength or Ability X, they are interlinked. Some people rely entirely on their instincts, while others have to go through a technique. You can start to try the technique Li Poshan taught, but try to follow your own feelings as much as you can. Don't be afraid of mistakes. Sometimes your body and soul's connection is more important.

Snow Li nodded quite decisively.

"… but, it's best for you to change your clothes, they are too tight…" said Wang Zheng.

He really was not thinking of anything else, but could not help but feel premeditated.

"Ah, I didn't bring extra clothes, can I borrow yours first."

Snow Li took Wang Zheng's T-shirt and ran into the bathroom to change clothes. Wang Zheng could not help but think that he was overthinking things. It seemed that Snow Li was more open-minded. He was the only one who was feeling awkward.

If Xiaosu knew about this, he would definitely be mocked. Nonetheless, he could not help but to fantasize… Snow was a girl who was hard to resist.

After a while, Snow Li returned with new clothes and a very serious expression.

"Now, start with the mind, sink into your body and free your body from it's physical form"

Snow Li closed her eyes and tried to focus on Wang Zheng's guidance.

Snow Li's situation was indeed much more difficult than Zhang Shan. Things like one's soul and one's genes would evolve over time. After human beings carried out the interstellar navigation, some evolved from the separation of thousands of light years. Environmental changes had great impact on internal changes, less so on physical changes.

Like this breathing method, it was very simple for the people of the Earth to accept. Like Zhang Shan who was enlightened when he was walking. Something even the elites of Elite Academy X could not achieve.

For Snow Li, the super genius of the Ice Cloud Alliance, born during the Year of the Dancing Ice Dragon, this obstacle was like a mountain.

Wang Zheng's spiritual force gradually guided Snow Li, but Wang Zheng kept his distance and did not really wanted to enter Snow Li's spiritual world. It was not just the matter of her privacy, but also his as they would inevitably have certain linked thoughts.

The opening of each acupuncture point consumed a great deal of physical and mental strength, but the captain of the Ice Cloud Alliance remained strong, her expression unchanged. Deep inside, Wang Zheng knew how uncomfortable her current state was.

Snow Li's frail face was no longer fair, but pale. Her body was unconsciously soaked in sweat, drenching even the newly changed sheets.

Time felt longer than it was. The longer they persisted, the harder it got. Snow Li's mental strength was enough, but she was lacking physically. Wang Zheng could provide her with the strength she needed, but the scenario now was the tipping point that would be best broken through by Snow herself. The effect would be completely different, and could create better self esteem for any warrior if achieved alone.

Wang Zheng also wanted to see Snow's limits.

Snow Li did not disappoint Wang Zheng. This stubborn girl had obviously exhausted her physical strength and still insisted that the last acupuncture point to be opened.

When that moment came, Snow Li opened her eyes and she knew that she had succeeded. In the current Ice Cloud Alliance, no more than five people had succeeded. Within that five, only one achieved this within one year of entering Elite Academy X – her.

Snow wanted to say something, but she was completely out of strength.

Wang Zheng smiled. "You don't have to talk, take a break, it's okay."

After hearing that, Snow's heart eased, and relentless fatigue swept through her.

Wang Zheng did not know whether to laugh or cry. He carried Snow to the bed and lay the blanket over her. To think that this girl was the first to use those clean sheets.

Wang Zheng was not too bothered. There was not a sofa around, he sat on the floor and was quickly in his own world. His surroundings was never a problem for him, but sleep had always been one.

When dawn came, Wang Zheng did not felt an inch of soreness although he had been sitting through the night. Although he was not fully recharged, he felt pretty energized.

Snow was still deep asleep on the bed, as sound as an ice princess. Her sleeping posture was adorable. Wang Zheng who was appreciating from one side was in a good mood, especially with such a view early in the morning.

However, Snow Li's eyelashes quivered. Wang Zheng smiled. "You've awoken, Snow. You might want to leave soon, before rumours start spreading."

Snow Li opened her eyes, and gently bit her lip, "I don't really care what others might say. Aren't you the one that's concerned?"

Wang Zheng offered no explanation and just looked at her with a smile. Snow Li felt a little embarrassed. Her cute nose twitched a few times. "What's that smell?"

"Heh, you finished the first cycle yesterday, so naturally, a cleansing of your body would occur… you should take a shower first, otherwise your image as a goddess would be affected"

Ah~~~

The icy-calm student Snow no longer stay composed and was visibly affected. Not only was she drenched with the smell of sweat, her appearance just upon waking up was completely revealed to another person. That was a girl's at their lowest state of beauty after all!

She practically bounced into the bathroom, and the sound of flowing water soon followed. Wang Zheng, on the other hand, was preparing breakfast. He was practically presenting the Buddha with borrowed flowers, since everything was provided for by Snow Li after all.

TL Note: Idiom meaning to win favor or influence using somebody else's property

Snow Li finished her shower very quickly, and radiated with health and vigor. The moment of enlightenment she experienced yesterday seemed to already have a cleansing effect, for upon changing into her own clothes, Goddess Snow now looked rather dazzling.

"Do you want breakfast?"

"Of course!" Snow Li replied determinedly.

Wang Zheng laughed, but at this untimely moment the doorbell rang again. The door swung open, for there was another person who knew the entry code – student Zhang Shan.

Zhang Shan rushed in like a gust of wind, "Wang Zheng, you're truly awesome. I feel as though I've been born anew, it's amazing! Let me treat you to…"

Zhang Shang stopped in his tracks, and so did Wang Zheng and Snow Li. At this moment, Snow Li's hair was wet and she was still wearing the same set of clothes from yesterday. The bed was also in disarray, and still had sweat stains on it.

"Ahem, Zhang Shan, don't be mistaken."

Zhang Shan showed a smug and lewd smile, "I don't think I've been mistaken, I'm a well-behaved youth after all. Aiyah, it's just that I really want to keep my mouth shut, so I wonder if anyone is willing to treat me to breakfast. Tsk, I don't think one breakfast would suffice. A month's worth seems more like it!"

Wang Zheng helplessly swung his hand, "Don't mind him."

Snow Li did in fact ignore the warrior. Her little tongue swept the bread off her lips in a single lick. Stroking her chin, she said, "Wang Zheng, I really want him to misunderstand, what should I do?"

"Stop fooling around. It would be alright if there was really anything, but since there wasn't it's really not worth becoming a scapegoat."

How about we do it again?" Snow Li teased.

"Really? You won't be so lucky next time."

"Alright, I can't stand you two any longer. Spare a thought for how others might feel, will you? Seeing as to how you're able to flirt so early in the morning, you've clearly finished your body technique training, classmate Snow." Zhang Shan was not entirely an idiot and was able to infer the situation from the conversation between the two.

He also knew Wang Zheng well enough. If Wang Zheng really did it, he would definitely fear nothing in Heaven or on Earth, and would certainly not care about what others might think.

"We're in the same boat."

Upon seeing Zhang Shan's energy, Snow Li immediately knew what Zhang Shan was excited about so early in the morning. Sure enough, Earthlings seemed to have an advantage in this area.

"Don't start worshipping me. Actually if not for Wang Zheng, I wouldn't be done so fast." Zhang Shan remarked.

"This guy truly is capable of something else entirely." Snow Li teased.

"Haha, it's not just something. Let me tell you, Wang Zheng will eventually change the universe!" Zhang Shan grandly proclaimed.

This time Wang Zheng's face turned red in embarrassment. Was it really necessary to boast so loudly?

Snow Li smiled silently, "You two take your time, I need to make a move first."

"Pretty girl, take care." Zhang Shan politely sent Snow Li off. After he closed the door, he practically leapt back to Wang Zheng.

"What a shame, you don't even take a bite when a pretty girl is literally presented to you. This is practically a waste of resources." Zhang Shan cried out in great pity, " Wang Zheng, you might as well change your name to Liuxia Hui and call it a day."

[1.TL Note: A famous person who couldn't be tempted by anything, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhan_Huo."]

Wang Zheng smiled as he took a sip of water, "The emperor is calm yet the eunuch is anxious."

TL Note: Idiom meaning that surrounding people are more concerned than the primary person involved, similar to the concept of 'back-seat driving'. Lots of Idioms today…

"Yep, continue being bullish all you want. Even if I'm the anxious eunuch here, what exactly are your plans? Don't tell me that you're going to live your whole life being intent on Aina? I'm not saying this just for your sake, but you're great at everything other than your indecisiveness when it comes to relationships!" Zhang Shan couldn't help but burst out, for he was not willing to see Wang Zheng continue to waste his youth away.

The very mention of Aina still shook Wang Zheng's emotions. He was completely unable to control this. While he was able to be as calm as still water even in the face of death, he was unable to do so when it came to Aina.

However, things were different from before, for even Meng Tian was in the picture now. In the past he felt like he was hurting Meng Tian, but after the round of explanation from Zhang Shan, he realised that he was already headed towards a dead end. However, when it came to other girls, he did not know why he could never take the first step even if there was obvious attraction present.

"Look at you go, overthinking things again! It's actually really simple, if you like someone, just go for it. If you fail, just try harder. If you fail again, just change your target. It's not as if it's the end of the world. Let me tell you if you continue your ways, sooner or later, you will experience a huge reversal!"

"A huge reversal?"

"Yeah, a huge reversal in your sexual orientation. For example, you may start to be attracted to animals…" Zhang Shan guffawed.

Bam…"Aiyaya, that hurts, a gentleman uses his mouth and not his fist! You bastard, don't be so unreasonable, do unto others as you would have them do unto you! Aiyo!"

After a short while, the disheveled Zhang Shan obediently took a seat. Alas, he still could not take Wang Zheng on in a fight. Sometimes it was more direct for men to use their fists to do the talking.

"Ahem, one's first love always leaves a deeper impression, but for a first love to be as severe as yours it's basically become a full-fledged love obstructing disease. Surely this isn't necessary. That being said, your first love set the bar high indeed. Seeing the grand ocean surely makes other rivers seem small in comparison. The state you've reached is certainly too high." Zhang Shan remarked. In actual fact he also knew the reasons behind Wang Zheng's behaviour. Nobody could match up to Aina after all. Men may seem to think with their lower halves but that was just passion and lust. When it came to true emotions, men and women were one and the same. This was especially true for someone like Wang Zheng, who definitely preferred taking things slow. However, once you gained his approval, he would treat you as if you were part of his family.

Zhang Shan silently labelled this pitiful guy as one who would always be in the friendzone.

…????????????????????????,???????,???????????

… Was he pitiful? All of a sudden Zhang Shan realised that this guy was not as as pitiful as he imagined. Stunningly beautiful women kept throwing themselves at Wang Zheng after all. When would Zhang Shan be able to enjoy such treatment himself?

Wang Zheng laughed, "Alright, enough nonsense, let's go to class!"

"Ahem, let's make a deal shall we? Since you don't even like this Snow Li, how about you introduce her to me?" Zhang Shan grinned.

"Don't you already have Yan Ge?"

"Cheh, we just get along well. If we like each other we'll get together, if not we'll just forget about it and remain as good friends!"

"F*ck, you're definitely the unfaithful one here!"

"Cheh, there you go again. Before me she already had more than ten ex-boyfriends alright, even if I hesitated, she wouldn't need to. Your idea of love is practically that from three thousand years ago, I'm seriously speechless."

Zhang Shan felt that Wang Zheng was great in all aspects except being passionate. How could a true man not be passionate!?

Nope, Wang Zheng was probably passionate on the inside. Wang Zheng was just not as outspoken as himself – that on the other-hand was outward passion!

Zhang Shan was proud of being able to come to such a conclusion himself. The two of them drove the cauldron to class. Every time they faced the morning sun while in midair, Zhang Shan always felt a blazing enthusiasm for life.

Today's class was combat tactics. The main topics covered were solo combat on complex terrain, multi-member cooperative combat, large-scale combat , airborne combat etc. Since the professors either held positions within the Army's Dagger Task Forces or the Special Forces, the military strategies and tactics presented to them were unique in nature.

The combat tactics class was also divided into both theoretical lessons and practical lessons. How could one put it, individual ability was indeed important, but since ancient times raising an army of one thousand was easy, while finding a good general was difficult. Tacticians would obtain an exalted status, and becoming a talented general was the ultimate goal of the students of Elite Academy X. Unless one had special interests, this was definitely the main goal of the students. Nobody would want to be a mere soldier all their lives, especially not among this group of talented youths.

As a result, the reference scores from the combat tactics class were extremely valuable. In the short-term their importance would not be felt since everyone was still rather young and they would need to accumulate at least ten years of experience. However, when the time for promotion eventually came, these scores would reveal their true value.

Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan were both intellectuals, just that one was reserved while the other was more flamboyant. The moment they entered the classroom, they sensed an indescribable ambience. Everyone seemed to be overly excited.

Could it be that rumors had spread?

Zhang Shan glanced at Wang Zheng, before realizing that no one was paying any attention to them. They were imagining things, for the true situation revealed itself quickly via Eisen.

"What were the two of you busy with all day? Could it be that you haven't seen the Skylink news about the school from yesterday?"

Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan shot a quick glance at each other. They really did not have any time to care about such things yesterday.

"Elite Academy will be organizing a mecha competition. Those who place in the top five will be able to obtain a personal custom-made runic mech!"

"Runic mech?" Zhang Shan curiously asked.

"You idiot, have you forgotten about our flying devices? Did you really think that the Elite Academy gained control of this technology just to make transport vehicles!?" Eisen replied in a tone resentful of expectations not being met. This was no secret in the Elite Academy. This type of mecha had a difficult manufacturing process and mass production was not possible since each mecha had to be made on a one-to-one basis. As such, they could only be obtained by these gifted students.

"In the past only students above Earth Grade could obtain this, but now the school has finally been enlightened about the importance of taking care of us. As such, they decided to hold a competition of real combat, and those who place in the top five can obtain one immediately!" Eisen exclaimed with excitement.

Zhang Shan smirked, "What are you so excited for? This was obviously prepared for those in the Xuan Grade. It's none of our business."

There was no chance at all for those a whole grade lower.

All at once, Eisen was in low spirits again, "That's why I'm so bloody fed up. It would be great if such good opportunities existed while we're in the Xuan Grade. However, it seems like we are able to sign up on paper at least."

"Oh, anyone can take part?"

"After registering and if you pass the background check, you will need to take part in a basic test, after which your participation will be confirmed. However, your opponents will all be Xuan Grade Seniors. It would be best to just treat this as a learning opportunity, since victory is pretty much impossible. I've heard that all those in the Xuan Grade are their own special brand of crazy." Eisen remarked with admiration.

When it came to owning your own mecha, this runic mech would be different from that of Atlantis, for in this case only the owner would be able to use the mech. Once matching was complete, this mech would solely belong to its pilot. While there were definitely going to be restrictions on its usage, this did not really matter much, for the mech would still be invaluable. These mecha were the manifestation of mankind's greatest knowledge and simply engraving your own name on one of them would be an unsurpassable achievement.

That would be truly glorious!

This was a temptation that no mech pilot could ever resist!

Chapter 629: Elevated Fighting Spirits

Translator: Abyssruler Editor: Lucas

Zhang Shan took a quick glance at Wang Zheng. He could tell that Wang Zheng was moved. The runic mecha here were exclusive to mankind and were genuinely superb. In all the other militaries of the Milky Way Alliance, there was presently no other mech that could even come close. Everyone desired to own a mech like this.

"Are you two actually thinking of giving it a shot? I think it would be best to forget about it. Wang Zheng's mecha piloting may be decent, but it's useless anyway. The lowest level of Ability X among the Xuan Grade is C rank, with the B rank being considered the norm. This isn't just a hypothetical situation, it would actually be impossible for y'all to demonstrate your skills."

"Coward, as long as the school allows it, we can give it a shot. The important thing is to participate in order to let big bro here check out how great these Xuan Grade students really are. For all you may know, they may not even be able to beat me." Zhang Shan remarked.

Eisen did not know whether to laugh or cry. After all, he was already accustomed to this guy's blind overconfidence.

"Where do we register?" Wang Zheng asked. Perhaps this was the chance he was looking for, since Olivios probably could not wait any longer. In actual fact Wang Zheng felt the same and this opportunity was unquestionably a good one either way.

"Ah, you all really intend to sign up?" Eisen replied.

"Why not?" Zhang Shan swung his arms, "How could we bear to miss such a good practice opportunity?"

"All you have to do is to directly enter your student number into the link. As to whether or not you're qualified enough to take part, the decision will lie entirely with the school." Eisen explained.

Students in the Xuan Grade and above were all allowed to participate, whereas the students in the Huang Grade had to pass an evaluation. After all, standards had to be maintained and spots were not to be filled with just about anyone. This was to ensure that the competition between those in the Xuan Grade would not be negatively affected. A Xuan Grader could face off with another Xuan Grader, whereas it was also possible for another Xuan Grader to face a Huang Grader instead. This could result in an unlevel playing field.

As a result, while Huang Graders were technically allowed to sign up, not all of them would be allowed to participate.

The others in the classroom were also actively discussing whether to sign up or not. They were mostly on the fence about it. Participating would only just be for show but not signing up felt like giving up a chance for a shot at glory.

Upon further thought, the gap between the Xuan Grade and Huang Grade did not seem that large after all. The Xuan Graders had higher rank Ability X, but it was not to the extent that they were unsurpassable. If the quality of one's Ability X was good enough, perhaps it could even compensate for this disparity. The Xuan Graders were also more experienced, but this was relative as well. Ultimately, combat was an unpredictable thing after all.

Furthermore, Olivios supposedly beat up someone from the Xuan Grade before, so perhaps the Xuan Grade individuals were not as formidable as everyone imagined. They were only human after all, so there would always be a possibility of taking them on. Moreover, there was also a chance that some instructor would be on the lookout for talents demonstrated during the competition and choose to take a participant under their wing as a result.

As a result, everyone held conflicting views regarding the situation. Of course, there were also those who were decisive. The majority of students from Huang Grade Class 1 immediately applied. They did not really have anything to hesitate about. Some of them were about to be promoted soon, so this was an undeniably great opportunity for them. If they were able to obtain the mech, it would be just be killing two birds with one stone.

Wang Zheng entered his own student number, but a message immediately popped up on the screen, "Your application has already been received. Please avoid submitting a repeat application."

Wang Zheng stared blankly. It seemed like someone had already applied on his behalf. He did not know which kind soul it was but at least this saved him the trouble of applying.

Once news of the event was out, everyone immediately became more proactive in their training. This was indeed well thought out by the school.

The combat strategy class was rather calm. The first half of the class was for all intents and purposes a history class. Classic examples of small to large scale battles from the Milky Way Alliance's history were covered with the goal of providing the students with a broader world view. However, no further words needed to be said, for each generation gave rise to new legends, and the stories behind these individuals took the listeners' breaths away.

This included incomparably heroic stories of tides being turned. One example included the miracle created by the godlike general of Arbiter. Due to advancement in weaponry, a single individual was able to act at the right time to achieve the grand accomplishment of reversing the entire battle situation to his side's favor. Just listening to such cases made one's blood race with excitement.

There were even more ordinary tales of the art of war – or simply put the cruelties of warfare. The course of human development had always been a song of ice and fire filled with battles and disputes. In the midst of such chaos, there was always the undeniable presence of formidable ones who proved themselves across many instances of battle. Even in recent years such a situation persisted, but the difference was that at present the Milky Way Alliance was in its most stable period since its formation. While frictions persisted between various regions, on a whole the Alliance was in a period of growth and expansion. Furthermore, such a situation had already been maintained for decades. In this period of time, the various nations of mankind experienced remarkable economic recovery and progress, for they were slowly reaping the benefits from the achievements of the Great Interstellar Voyage.

The day's lessons came to an end, and everyone's attention was drawn away from their combat tactics class to the mecha combat selection match – in particular the probability of being able to participate. The quota of five was not that small but in this situation there were definitely not enough slots to go around and competition was definitely going to be tough. Still, having something was better than nothing.

Zhang Shan registered as well, for he would never be able to give up such an opportunity. Even if he was to be crushed he would still take part. After all, being crushed was a prerequisite to eventually crushing your future opponents.

Wang Zheng had to prepare as well. In particular, he had to focus his efforts on preparing his Ability X. He had to prepare his Windflame Wheels at least, or else it would be difficult to deal with the opposing individuals from the Xuan Grade. He found it difficult to believe that there were no experts among the Xuan Grade at all.

The World of Saints was unquestionably the most convenient place to test out the Windflame Wheels since he could refine the Atomic Burst there. In terms of body training techniques, he was undoubtedly in the top tier but when it came to Ability X, he fell behind the others in Elite Academy. This was going to be an obvious flaw for Wang Zheng.

Facing an ordinary opponent would naturally not be an issue. However, if it was Olivios or an even stronger or more well-rounded opponent instead, things would go bad the moment the opponent took advantage of an opening. Control of a battle's rhythm and momentum were key objectives to fight over in expert battles. At the very least, one would have to hold fast to one's own rhythm.

The drawback of being unable to finely control an Ability X would have to be made up for by the sheer explosive power of the Ability X itself. This was all Wang Zheng could come up with at the moment.

After some practice, the Windflame Wheels seemed slightly easier to control in the World of Saints. However, Wang Zheng frequently felt that he was missing out on the experience of actual combat, so he felt that it would better to head to the training grounds to test it out. Wang Zheng was the type to adore actual combat after all.

Wang Zheng certainly did not dare to have anymore 'moments of inspiration' in his dormitory. Another explosion would certainly lead to him being expelled by the school.

There was an Ability X training ground opened by Elite Academy, where one could practise their Ability X in various ways. Wang Zheng usually rarely used the facility but now he had no choice but to practise there.

After finding his own cauldron, Wang Zheng took to the skies. The starry skies of Inner Roland were brighter and more beautiful than that of Earth, perhaps in part due to the fact that it was all artificial. Despite that, at least there was no need to feel your way around in pitch darkness.

Elite Academy was especially beautiful at night. Just the one Bowl flying past was enough to startle the many pairs of wild mandarin ducks.

The Ability X training ground had a considerably pretty design. An eye-catching emblem of a burning blade crossed with an icy sword adorned the roof of the building. The entire training ground was brightly lit; clearly there were many others who had the same idea as him.

The mecha competition between the Xuan and Huang Grade this time round invigorated the fighting spirit of everyone. In the entirety of X Elite Academy's history there had only been a handful of similar competitions organized. Even then they were mostly held in the form of tests, whereas the competition format this time was rarely used.

However, this was a little unfair to the students that possessed support type Ability Xs. Their combat ability clearly could not match that of their counterparts with battle type Ability Xs. While support type students did stand a chance to obtain the runic mecha, a normal squad of twenty members required at most only two members to fill support roles, leading to the competition for these roles to be far more stressful. On the other hand, at least there were less support type students than the numerous battle type students.

Ability X training mostly consisted of increasing one's power and obtaining better control but practising one's control was usually the main focus.

With a single sweep of his Skylink, Wang Zheng entered the training grounds and picked a practice field with less people.

The drill required him to use his Ability X to control a small practice ball's rolling trajectory. This practice ball was specially made and was able to acutely detect mental energy. However, it was extremely sensitive, so exceeding keen senses were required to adjust it well.

It seemed rather simple. Wang Zheng always thought that his control of mental energy was rather decent, but when he tried to put it into practice…

It was a total mess.

Wang Zheng could not even bear to check the results. His rolling of the ball had totally not met the standards at all.

Since Ability X was supposed to be a manifestation of some underlying transformation of mental energy, not being able to perfectly control the ball was to be expected. However, Wang Zheng felt that his mental energy had to be of a certain standard, or else he would not have been able to use Phantom King so well. Failing so badly was completely absurd to him.

Alas, merely theorizing about something was entirely different from putting it into practice. Wang Zheng was earnest in his efforts with manipulating the ball, but the ball had ignored him entirely!

At the Xuan Grade Faculty, Ling Luoyu was going through the Huang Grade student applications with Mo Lin.

The challenge this time was undeniably hard to come by for the Xuan Grade students but surprisingly the Huang Grade students longed for such an opportunity as well.

"An unexpectedly large number of people signed up." Ling Luoyu did not know whether to laugh or cry.

"What are you saying, are you suggesting that we shouldn't be able to give it a try?" Mo Ling laughed. The two of them belonged to the student union, and the school had entrusted the handling of the matter to the student union.

"Has he signed up?" Lin Luo Yu suddenly asked.

"Who do you mean?" Mo Ling teased. Only upon seeing Lin Luo Yu's glare did Mo Lin laugh in reply, "Wang Zheng will definitely sign up. Based on what I know, everyone from the Solar System signed up."

"Eh, the Solar System lacks both foundation and numbers at Elite Academy, but they don't seem to be lacking in ambition." Ling Luoyu replied.

"It's the Solar System after all. Being the origin of mankind, I'm sure their aspirations aren't small. Nevertheless, don't you feel that the few from the Solar System this time seem pretty decent?" Mo Ling commented, "Still, I understand why they aren't united at all. While Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan stayed behind to take care of things at Azure Dragon Region, the others all went on their own way. There's also an even more specific reason. It goes without saying that the Solar System has less people, so they hoped to try different styles individually in order to enable the Solar System to quickly catch up with the rest of the Milky Way Alliance.

"Pretty self-important of them. Even an onlooker could tell that this group of people is bursting with overconfidence. Each of them actually believe that they are good enough to take charge of matters on their own."

Honestly speaking Ling Luoyu looked down on the Solar System. From the beginning of their decline, the Solar System continually proclaimed that they were going to rise up and recover their position of authority within the Milky Way Alliance but even after so long these words still seemed like nonsense. Such a small matter would usually be not worth any attention at all, but at their last gathering her old grandpa brought it up with her again, as though missing the opportunity this time would be her own loss.

To put it in simple terms, Wang Zheng's personality was extremely average and did not fit her type at all. No matter how strong he was, he was simply not her ideal type.

Chapter 630: The Necessity of Imagination

Translator: Abyssruler Editor: Lucas

"Let's just wait and see. What rules are the student union planning to impose on the Huang Grade individuals? Are they just gonna be beaten to death in one go?" Mo Ling was still fighting for the interest of the Huang Grade individuals.

"All who are able to pilot any mecha and have passed the Huang Grade number seven test and above will be considered eligible to participate." Ling Luoyu answered.

Mo Ling pondered for a bit before nodding, "That doesn't seem too unreasonable."

The Huang Grade mecha ability test consisted of ten types but the most difficult ones were number one to seven. These tests consisted of an all-rounded evaluation of a person's mecha piloting ability, which obviously included the use of Ability X as well.

Knowing that Mo Ling was not entirely satisfied, Ling Luoyu smiled, "This is the conclusion the student union came to after much discussion and not my personal opinion. Furthermore, we really prioritised being fair. You know, we Xuan Grade individuals are now eager with the thought of facing you all in battle. Fighting one less difficult battle will save us a considerable amount of energy after all."

"I wouldn't be so sure of that!" Mo Ling still had some backbone. Who dared to assume that the Huang Grade individuals would be sent packing immediately?

"Ke ke, the students from Huang Grade Class 1 may be stronger in battle than some of the weaker Xuan Grade individuals. Among these five places however, we students of Xuan Grade Class 1 have an utmost advantage and will prevail!

When it came to the runic mecha, nobody was willing to give in. The two treasures of the academy definitely did not include the Bowl but were the space crystals and the runic mecha instead. These two were priceless treasures that were made in strictly limited quantities. Take the space crystals for instance. It was impossible for any Milky Way Alliance nation to develop space crystals for their own use without prior permission. Every space crystal's owner was officially recorded, and only people of Roland Garros were able to use them. The runic mecha, on the other hand, were unable to be developed even by nations like Aslan. While the development process was readily understood, obtaining the materials required was impossible, for there was a certain object that only Inner Roland possessed.

"Let's not talk about others. I believe that Olivios is sufficiently prepared to take out those from Xuan Grade Class 1." Mo Ling commented. While Olivios was not from the Azure Dragon Region, his name had already spread throughout the school.

"I can't deny that, but you should also remember that the four Xuan Grade experts are all taking part. Do you still believe that it's possible for Olivios to win?"

Ling Luoyu laughed. Olivios was indeed a formidable genius, but the Xuan Grade also had extreme geniuses of their own. Furthermore these geniuses had achieved more and were far stronger, so they no longer felt the need to show off their skills to the Huang Grade individuals. They had goals far-off from this now.

Nevertheless, a runic mecha was what they wished to obtain – the sooner the better as well.

Wang Zheng trained for over an hour, but failed to grasp the main points in the end. He started to doubt whether he had any talent in this aspect. Perhaps this was because The Primordial Regression Technique had affected his performance in this area. These were all unanswerable questions that nobody could help him answer.

Student Wang demonstrated his perseverance by trying hard once again. He was not afraid of failure after all.

The Hail Cloud Alliance was rather cautious about the competition this time. They held considerable influence at Azure Dragon Region, and this was undeniably a great opportunity for them to reinforce their position. As a student of Xuan Grade Class 1, Redington held even higher hopes for this.

A stage like this was meant for the truly elite and was useless to those who only knew how to flatter with words. Redington had been patiently waiting for such an opportunity to arise all along. This was a great chance, for all he had to do was attain a good ranking in this competition. Doing so would allow him to strengthen his influence in the Hail Cloud Alliance and would allow Snow Li to clearly recognize him as a true elite that she could depend on.

Redington's prowess had the possibility of making an impact. Even so, it would not be an easy task, but within the Hail Cloud Alliance he was undoubtedly the one with the most hope.

Redington personally sent Snow Li a Skylink message. He knew that Snow Li definitely intended to take part. Who would let such a good opportunity for personal coaching go by?

After half a ring, Redington stared blankly at his own Skylink. He was so angry that he wanted to smash his Skylink. Snow Li actually rejected him!

Could it be that such behavior was intrinsic to Snow Li by virtue of the fact that she was born during the Dance of the Ice Dragon?

This was such a great opportunity for step-by-step coaching from an expert from the Xuan Grade Class 1 after all!

Redington gritted his teeth in frustration. He even spent the whole of last night awake in order to refine his plan. He intended to bring Snow Li to his dormitory the moment she agreed to his offer, after which some dirty events would naturally occur. If there was a chance, he would have unrestrainedly taken it and devoured her whole!

He did not know how it was like in other nations but he knew that those in the Hail Cloud Alliance, particularly those like Snow Li, were not that liberal yet. This meant that he had to be the one to take the initiative.

He had mulled over it till his internal temperature rose, and even prepared a few nifty tricks up his sleeves. He was all fired up due to the various plans and scenarios that he had imagined but in the end…

The other party was not interested at all.

This feeling reminded him of the region of eternal frost within the Hail Cloud Alliance. It chilled him to the bone.

But he would not give up easily!

Wang Zheng suddenly received an unexpected piece of news while he was busy with his preparations for the mecha competition.

Xiao Fei had arrived at Roland Garros!

Wang Zheng felt rather confused to have received Xiao Fei's Skylink. Xiao Fei should have been really busy at present. The spatial experiments should have reached a critical point where either success or failure was imminent, so how did she have time to come to Roland Garros? Perhaps she came here looking for technological assistance?

Upon second thought, Marcus did come looking for him over a period of time. The company was not doing well, so perhaps Xiao Fei's visit this time was related to that.

"What's wrong? Aren't you going to invite me to see you?" Xiao Fei saw Wang Zheng's hesitation over the Skylink and wore an excessively murderous look on her face.

"Of course you're invited. I'll raise both arms and legs to invite you." Wang Zheng promptly declared.

"Why don't you hurry on over and bring me to Inner Roland then?"

"Understood."

Wang Zheng drove his own Bowl and swiftly went over. Xiao Fei was already at the entrance to Inner Roland. She was a member of the Universe's Genesis Coffee Club, and thus possessed the necessary qualifications to hold a post here. At the same time, only a small portion of Genesis Coffee Club members would even be willing to hold a post here.

Upon reaching the entrance to Inner Roland, Wang Zheng was able to find Xiao Fei without a hitch. Wang Zheng smiled as he approached her, "Teacher Xiao Fei, in our days apart you've become even prettier."

He felt that throwing out a few compliments would be a good way to put teacher Xiao Fei in a better mood.

Xiao Fei unrestrainedly pinched Wang Zheng's face, "Good, you have a way with words. Let's go, I've heard that Inner Roland has a mystical means of transport."

"Understood."

It was obvious that this was Xiao Fei's first time riding this type of personal flying device. This was the perfect amalgamation of Atlantis culture and mankind's technology. However, what surprised Wang Zheng was the fact that Xiao Fei did not really seem all too interested and was only somewhat watching Wang Zheng drive. Her gaze revealed that her thoughts were somewhere else.

Upon reaching the school, Wang Zheng was rejected even before he could finish inviting Xiao Fei to take a look around, "I don't have the mood for this right now. I'm tired, bring me to your place so that I can rest for a bit."

Gulp…

Wang Zheng stared blankly. Alright, it seems like she travelled all this way from Earth just to take a break?

"Don't tell me you're you're keeping a concubine at home, you little brat!?" Xiao Fei could sense Wang Zheng's hesitation and glared at Wang Zheng with a hint of a smile.

Wang Zheng showed a bitter and hateful expression, "Teacher Xiao Fei, you're humiliating my dignity. Furthermore, if someone wanted to stay in my poor excuse for a home, I would have nothing to say considering that its practically a hole in the ground."

"Oh really? Zhang Shan and Yan Xiaosu often told me to my face that you were their role model." Teacher Xiao Fei beamed as she replied.

Wang Zheng exhaled in frustration. These two b*stards were truly good for nothing. When it came to things like these they always pushed it on him.

Upon reaching the dormitory, Xiao Fei took a brief look around, "It's so clean. Perhaps a girl came over?"

Ahem…

"Professor, being able to maintain the cleanliness of a dormitory is a basic quality that every soldier should have. This has nothing to do with whether or not a female has visited before." Wang Zheng had to clarify. While it was true that a female had indeed visited and was even a beauty at that, it was clear that she would only have made his dormitory even messier instead.

Xiao Fei patted Wang Zheng's bed, "Clean enough. I'm tired, let me sleep for a bit."

What do you mean clean "enough"? It was exceedingly clean. Student Wang Zheng was someone who cared a great deal about personal hygiene.

Xiao Fei was not kidding when she said she wanted to sleep. She extravagantly flung her shoes off and hogged Wang Zheng's bed without any inhibitions.

Wang Zheng stared blankly. She was really sleeping? It seemed like things were a tad serious.

Xiao Fei's complexion was indeed not very good. She was slightly pale, and Wang Zheng knew that given Xiao Fei's resolute and arrogant personality, she had definitely suffered a heavy blow that went as far as to sway her confidence.

He silently watched Xiao Fei lie with her eyes shut. It was obvious that Xiao Fei was not really sleeping. Her eyes were squeezed shut with far too much force, revealing that she was burdened by one worry or another.

However, given Xiao Fei's character, if she did not want to talk about it, Wang Zheng would not ask either. He quietly sat by her side and started the Internet on his Skylink.

There was only the quiet sound of breathing in the room.

An eternity later…

"Wang Zheng, do you reckon that we live the majority of our lives in dissatisfaction?" Xiao Fei asked.

There were many news articles online and just searching randomly resulted in a pile of results. Wang Zheng now understood what had put Xiao Fei in a bind.

A massive headline – KING Universe Spatial Technology Corporation's Confusing Future…

The subheading – Spatial Practicality Experiments have failed countless times, where will KING Corporation go from here?

Over a hundred experiments have reportedly been conducted, with the conclusion being failure each time. Project leader Professor Xiao Fei short-sighted desire for results had even resulted in workers suffering experiment-related injuries multiple times. Thankfully there have yet to be any serious incidents, but team morale is currently low.

Is KING Corporation facing bankruptcy?

At the same time, several surreptitious rival companies have already begun targeting KING Corporation's finances in preparation for an acquisition of this project.

When KING was still valued highly, obtaining even a small slice of the pie would not have been possible. However, they are now left with little choice due to the fact that they are in dire straits.

Xiao Fei could hear the scrolling sounds of the Skylink and knew that Wang Zheng was getting up to speed. The final layer of her facade disappeared and she could not hold herself together any longer. The rim of her eyes started to turn red.

She loved science to the extent that she believed that her purpose in life was to conduct research. As a result, she gave up everything else. From romantic relationships to fame and fortune, these things were not important to her at all. In her pursuit of knowledge and process of understanding the universe, she discovered the value of living and attained redemption, for science was greater than all else.

Things had been going well for Xiao Fei all along. Moreover, she had reached the pinnacle of her life when she met Wang Zheng. Xiao Fei certainly felt that this was just a result of her own ability and that she was able to achieve even greater things in time to come. She strived for her name to forever be etched in the annals of human history much like Einstein, Alan Tucker and other great physicists. That was what she truly felt was worth living for.

Chapter 631: I want you!

Alas, she came across a brick wall just as she was about to achieve all this. She suddenly realised that she was actually lacking in so many aspects and her confidence was destroyed over and over again. Xiao Fei could not help but reflect that her position today as well as her greatest advancement in life could all be traced back to this student known as Wang Zheng. If not for him, there would not have been the Theory of Spatial Delivery and she would not possess all that she had today. Perhaps she would have been able to reach similar heights many years down the road, but she certainly would not have been able to do it by now.

In this entire process, she unconsciously attributed everything to her own perseverance and hard work, when in reality this was not the case.

However, her conceitedness had brought about severe consequences and it was too late to turn back. OMG and Lucky Star had invested a large amount into this project while Wang Zheng had gone around borrowing money using various connections and resources. If KING Corporation were to go bankrupt, the debts would amount to upwards of ten billion.

Sorting out these chaotic thoughts in her mind only left her with the feeling of boundless dread.

Xiao Fei could not shift the blame onto anyone else. The responsibility was hers to bear from beginning to end. When it came to Wang Zheng, she did not really know how to feel. It was her meeting with him that allowed her to achieve her dreams so far in advance, yet this also caused her life to come to an early end.

However, she had no regrets. Her life may have been short, but all in all she led a happy life. Living fast and dying young was better than immortality – perhaps having such a point of view would allow her to feel better about herself.

Wang Zheng furrowed his brow. Xiao Fei actually had an aura of death and despair around her!

This event had clearly dealt a huge blow to Xiao Fei. Wang Zheng realised almost instantly that she shared the same symptoms as him when he had been forced to break up with Aina.

Wang Zheng sat on the side of the bed and held Xiao Fei's hand. Xiao Fei's body trembled slightly.

"Teacher Xiao Fei, I'll let you in on a secret. This is something that only you and I know. You can't tell anyone else, or else I'll be too ashamed to live." Wang Zheng solemnly said, "Even Yan Xiaosu and Ye Zisu don't know about this."

Women naturally loved gossip. Xiao Fei's eyes opened wide and hazily gazed at Wang Zheng. What was this secret?

"Actually this matter has continually put me in a bind. You already know about me and Aina. Due to various reasons we broke up and I felt that I let her down as a man despite having no other choice. Worse still… under a certain emotional state I got together with Meng Tian. I didn't really understand my feelings toward her and she left me as well. I feel like everything is my fault. I just want to escape, leave and not come to terms with it forever." Wang Zheng bitterly laughed.

Xiao Fei's eyes gradually grew wider, "Ah, so you're not a virgin anymore?"

Wang Zheng nearly spurted out. Why this… could you focus on the main point!?

"Sigh, during that period of time I was really depressed and Zhang Shan gave me a good talking to. He felt that I was too narcissistic for always wanting to shoulder all responsibility without being able to see the good side of things.

Things did not have to made crystal clear when talking to Xiao Fei, for she would still be able to understand.

All he wanted to do was to tell Xiao Fei that regardless of the results of the project, it would be due to everyone's decision, hence the burden should be borne by all. In actual fact Wang Zheng only played a simple role in this project. All the difficult matters were handled by Xiao Fei, so she definitely contributed much more, yet Xiao Fei wanted to bear all responsibility alone because she believed that failure was entirely her fault.

In actual fact her every move received the support of everyone else after much deliberation. This was their approach all along.

"Teacher Xiao Fei, trust is for better or for worse. Even if the sky were to come tumbling down there will be a roof protecting our heads. I once knew an old man who always said that whatever does not kill us only makes us stronger." Wang Zheng said.

Xiao Fei did not utter a word and just tightly held Wang Zheng's hand like it was her source of strength. It took a long time for her to finally let out a laugh. In the instant of her grief turning to happiness bloomed a mature girl's most touching moment.

"Wang Zheng, I realise that you have the potential to become a teacher."

"That's only because Professor Xiao Fei has taught me well. A student takes after their teacher after all."

"What a sweet talker. Perhaps many young girls have already been deceived by you!?" Xiao Fei questioned.

Wang Zheng stroked his nose. He really did consider himself to be an honest and reliable gentleman.

"Stop touching your nose already. Alas, KING Corporation's situation really isn't good. The problems with the experiments have been really significant, yet solutions can't be found. You should mentally prepare yourself for the possibility that the company goes bankrupt, Wang Zheng.

Wang Zheng laughed, "I've already explained it to you. With effort, one can achieve anything. Even if the company were to really go bankrupt it wouldn't be a big deal. Just continue doing what needs to be done, and we'll cross the bridge when we come to it. Moreover, don't they say that we have to tear something down to build it up again and also that things will change for the better?

"Alright, alright, stop with your rhetoric… The most likely outcome is failure. As for the money you acquired… the funds may be lost forever. Even so, I'm not satisfied with the outcome, so I want to try even harder."

Xiao Fei truly did not have much stamina left towards the end. Maintaining the status quo would undoubtedly lead to nothing. Simply put, if the experiments were to continue, more money was needed.

Wang Zheng nodded. He naturally understood, for even the Old Merchant met his Waterloo when he relied on the Milky Way Alliance back then. The fact that Xiao Fei was facing such difficulty was no big surprise. Perhaps due to the Old Merchant's influence, he was rather supportive when it came to these matters. Funding was truly a big problem, but as with all problems there was definitely a solution out there.

In this moment of deep thought, Xiao Fei's mood started to worsen again, for she was not yet able to resolve her deepest concerns. Continuing on like this would not do. As the director of the project, she had to have unflinching determination and willpower. It would be a huge problem if she ever started doubting herself.

"Professor Xiao Fei, I feel that I'm really lucky." Wang Zheng suddenly interjected.

"Lucky?" Xiao Fei stared blankly.

" You too know that your situation now is rather difficult. When it comes to people, there always has to be something in it for them to help out. I can think of ways of solving your funding issues, but are you able to give me anything as collateral?"

"Collateral?" Xiao Fei did not really know what Wang Zheng could want. It did not seem like she had anything to offer him. Equity shares? She did not really mind, but Wang Zheng was definitely not looking for that.

"I want you. If your project fails, you will become part of my private property. This way, even if the project drowns in debt I will not be entirely ruined, whereas if you succeed instead, I would profit greatly – principal and interest included. In that case we'll just pretend that this never happened." Wang Zheng explained.

Xiao Fei face turned red for an instant, the phrase "I want you" momentarily gave Xiao Fei a big shock.

"Until this project concludes, you belong to me. You better take care of yourself and not let this precious asset of mine suffer any damage. I don't want to lose both the person and her possessions!"

Without knowing the reason why, the heavy burden that Xiao Fei experienced disappeared in an instant. This was great. The reality was that In her heart of hearts, Xiao Fei would never admit defeat. She wanted to continue on and would stop only when she died. However, she was unable to selfishly drag someone else to her death with her, so she needed a reason, a way to compensate another person. This person was Wang Zheng.

Did he really want her?

Chapter 632: Master, Let's Have a Deep Conversation

Translator: Abyssruler Editor: Lucas

This little b*stard was pretty daring after all. How audacious of him! It went without saying that Xiao Fei did not actually know Wang Zheng's true motives, but she was willing to numb herself in order to give herself an excuse; a reason for her to work without restraint. This was the only way she could relieve herself from her heavy burden of guilt.

In actual fact, her heart had already completely accepted this and she was feeling extremely carefree. Her train of thought became much clearer and what she was concerned about was not her own failure at all. There were no successful scientists that were not paranoid. They firmly believe in their own understanding of the world; external factors were always what ended up interfering with them.

"I accept your suggestion. Now then, master, we should discuss what to do next." Xiao Fei lovingly battered her eyelids.

Goosebumps ran through Wang Zheng's body. This was… way too scary.

"Ahem, Professor Xiao Fei. At present there aren't any results yet, so it would be better if we continued to speak normally." From her demeanor, Wang Zheng could tell that Xiao Fei had recovered. He had better keep his distance. For all he knew, this witch would take her revenge on him.

"No leaving. I want to take a good nap. Stay by my side and think about how to earn money in the mean time!"

Xiao Fei's voice lowered in pitch as she fell into Wang Zheng's embrace. She slid down as though paralyzed and rested her head on Wang Zheng's thigh. Her breathing was heavy and well-balanced.

She had already fallen into a deep slumber. She had lost track of how long it had been since she had such a good sleep.

Wang Zheng smiled and extended his arm to pull her loose hair strands back behind her ears. Her pale face had a certain softness to it. It was rather curious that even this witch had such a tender side to her.

Wang Zheng fidgeted slightly, intending to move Xiao Fei to the bed. After the smallest of movements, he noticed that Xiao Fei had furrowed her brows. Her two hands hugged Wang Zheng's thigh much like how a little girl would hug her oversized pet. She was as determined as a child refusing to let go of her favourite doll, causing Wang Zheng to stop in his tracks.

In this moment, Xiao Fei was not the all-powerful witch tutor he knew – she was a woman.

However, growl…

Student Wang Zheng's stomach grumbled in disappointment. He missed his meal because he went to meet Xiao Fei. Recently, his training had been intense too…

Wang Zheng opened his Skylink. Hmm, who was going to deliver a meal to me?

Zhang Shan?

Forget it, if Zhang Shan was to see this scene, Wang Zheng would never hear the end of it.

Snow Li was around, but after 0.5 seconds of hesitation, Wang Zheng chose to pass. Xiao Fei was already a well-practiced witch while Snow Li was definitely still learning to become one. Wang Zheng's rational choice was to not let the two of them meet.

On a chessboard, the kings never meet.

TL Note: Two individuals who are destined not to meet.

In the end, Wang Zheng decided to starve, treating it as an excuse to give his digestive system a break.

Teacher Xiao Fei was not only in a hurry when she arrived; she was in a rush to leave as well. She woke up bright and early the next day. Even if there was no time to meet up with Gail and the rest, Wang Zheng originally intended for her to at least have breakfast and take a small tour around Elite Academy since she was already here. However, this was clearly not in Xiao Fei's nature. After getting enough sleep and getting rid of her worries, she was completely recharged and wanted to take on her challenges while she was still full of passion. There was no time to waste here at all, so all Wang Zheng could do was to send her off from Inner Roland.

Xiao Fei wanted to take the earliest flight back to Earth. Working to the point of fatigue was not always the right approach. Sometimes it was more appropriate to loosen up in order to gain a new perspective on things. This was definitely a fact, for Xiao Fei's train of thought had become clear in this short amount of time, allowing her to come up with several new approaches that were worth trying.

Xiao Fei was most charming when she set aside her distracting thoughts.

Right before leaving, Xiao Fei gave Wang Zheng a sincere hug, "Little brat, I already belong to you after all, so go make a billion for me."

Student Wang's first thought was that she really treated him like a bank. Even if he was a good swindler it was not that easy. The incident with Ai Xiaolu was totally random; it would be difficult for him to get another large loan like this.

It was a pity that when it came to these matters, as a scientist Xiao Fei did not care. She reverted back to her original witch persona and cared only about the results, without any regard for the method and process used. She was counting on Wang Zheng anyway. His logic was sound after all, since she belonged to him, the final results were also his, so it did not make any sense for him to not put in any effort.

Wang Zheng could only bitterly laugh at this. While Xiao Fei was now free of her worries, his troubles had only began and he still had to prepare for his competition. This was… so stressful…

However, as he watched Xiao Fei leave with such vigor, it all seemed worth it anyway. As for the issue with the money, there seemed to be a saying that any problems regarding money were not truly problems.

… who was the b*stard who said this? This person had clearly not walked a mile in another's shoes.

Inner Roland, Black Tortoise Region.

The environment here had an ambience that was different from that of Azure Dragon Region. It was tense yet orderly. On the pathways of the academy there was not a single idle person; there were no inseparable couples; and there were only study-related discussions on the student bulletin, with nothing like news of birthday parties at all.

Everything fit the mold of efficiency and eliteness.

Every academy was of roughly the same quality and only differed in their respective ideologies. Azure Dragon Region was clearly more relaxed, whereas Black Tortoise Region walked the path of the highly efficient elite instead.

In Lear's point of view, this was the most suitable type of environment.

When it came to the elite, first and foremost was efficiency, and efficiency was always accompanied by a plan. The traditions that Black Tortoise Region sought to carry on were as good a fit for Lear.

Upon waking up every morning, Luo Fei would be greeted by the sight of a Lear that was scarier than the day before. Under these conditions, Lear was like a well-oiled machine. He repeatedly forged ahead without stopping at all.

This was not felt by Luo Fei alone. The entire class could feel it too. Lears breath became stronger everyday and the difference could be noticed by the naked eye. In theory, no one should be able to improve every single day, for there had to be times where your progress would stagnate. This clearly did not apply to Lear. Lear and Luo Fei had already entered Black Tortoise Region's Huang Grade Class 1. They directly started their preparations for the promotion test only a short time after entering the academy, yet both of them were able to gain entry successfully. This caused a sensation within the academy.

"Lear, the five elements tutor is looking for you."

Class monitor Jie Yuanhao furrowed his brow slightly. He did not like the gloomy Lear one bit. Jie Yuanhao even thought of causing some trouble for him, but this guy actually did not give him any opportunity to do so.

This guy was definitely a dog that would not stop snarling. Together with that treacherous fatty, they were sure to be a threat to his position.

Jie Yuanhao had already started giving Lear the cold shoulder the moment Lear first appeared in class. Who did he think he was? He was merely just some trash from Earth. He even brought a fatty with him to an elite academy? Was that his lackey?

His performance in class was nothing special initially, but now…

Lear's brilliance was beginning to become an eyesore.

Moreover, Jie Yuanhao always felt that Lear had a terrible attitude, for Lear always seemed to look down on everyone around him.

It was true that Lear's improvement had made him anxious. But how dare he look down on others? What right did a mere Earthling have to behave like this?

Lear's expressionless gaze fell upon Jie Yuanhao's face. He originally thought that Jie Yuanhao would be a decent competitor, but in both strength and mind he was nothing of note. While Lear was not considered to be among the strongest at Black Tortoise Region, he already felt more relaxed and was under far less pressure than at other places

As for Jie Yuanhao's opinion, while Lear did not look down on others, he truly never took the feelings of others into consideration. Someone who was strong would not care about the corpses he trudged over as he advanced forward, much less who their rotting brains belonged to. The only exception was when a true opponent appeared…

Lear squinted as the silhouette of a certain someone appeared in his mind's eye.

The decision to transfer from Azure Dragon Region to Black Tortoise Region was indeed not a mistake. Escaping from that person's rhythm allowed him to achieve greater heights, for he was now able to more objectively judge and analyse his own ability.

He arrived at his tutor's office. The five elements tutor was a plump middle-aged woman with brown skin and bright red short hair. While she was not exactly good-looking, her entire appearance had an unforgettable impact on others.

"Sorry for intruding." Lear smiled as he bowed politely out out of respect. While this was part of Black Tortoise Region's strict rules, Lear acted this way also because he could sense how frightening this tutor was. This was a terrifying entity whose Ability X power could not be measured. While it may sound ridiculous to claim that she was able to take on an entire squad alone, given enough time and without any restrictions on the methods to be used, a single squad of mecha would truly not be able to contain her.

The five elements tutor smiled, "Out of all the students I've seen, you're the one with the most natural talent. Perhaps you're the turning point of Black Tortoise Region. I've signed you up for the mecha competition this time, you're able to bring glory to Black Tortoise Region I hope."

Lear nodded, "Leave it to me, teacher. Thank you so much for your guidance!"

The five elements teacher smiled. She had her eye on this student all along. He was confident but not conceited; polite but not petty; took practice seriously; and had a keen sense of perception. She had not seen a youngster like that in years, so it was worth it to focus more on nurturing him.

Lear politely excused himself. Upon reaching the entrance, he immediately spotted a downcast Luo Fei below a tree.

Luo Fei was not only downcast – his life was practically about to be extinguished entirely.

Black Tortoise Region was like heaven to Lear, but to Luo Fei it was more like hell. What was wrong with the women in this place? Has the thought of enjoying their youth never crossed their minds? Haven't they realised that their smooth and delicate skin could only be maintained by the serums of men?

A plethora of swear words flew out from Luo Fei's chest. They all merged into a single sentiment – he could not obtain any girls.

However, the moment he saw Lear, Fatty became reinvigorated once again. He did not dare to remain depressed – Lear would definitely let him go insane if he stayed that way.

"Boss, there's a slight problem." Fatty chose his words carefully.

"Speak."

"They failed over there again." Fatty scratched his scalp. "Over there" referred to Azure Dragon Region. Over here, Lear clearly did not have enough idle time to care about things besides his studies. His godlike progress every day was not achieved by just playing around. Lear's intense efforts may not have been noticed by others, but Luo Fei had seen it very clearly. Lear never bothered to hide it from him anyway.

Lear nodded his head and remained expressionless. It seemed like he had already expected this outcome.

However, Fatty was obviously unhappy, "Boss, I feel so wronged this time. We ended up forking out cash to make that guy famous. No matter how I think about it, I still feel dissatisfied."
