Chapter 907: The "Torture" From the little Princess

Translator: Abyssruler, AtlasStudios Editor: Lucas, AtlasStudios

Once the wedding ended, Wang Zheng and Lin Huiyin boarded Huiyin's Princessship and were on their return trip. Huiyin's external ambassador claimed that the Princess' trip to the Moonlight City was to settle some personal things. During which, she suddenly wanted to give back to her fans by having such a performance.

To sum it up, it was in the heat of the moment. After all, for the little Princess, because she had recalled a scene in a movie, she decided to gift a surprise by barging in to a wedding.

As for whether the public would believe it or not, it wasn't important. Things within the entertainment circle were partly real and partly fake after all.

On the spaceship, Huiyin was completely at ease and rather happy. "I want some fruit juice."

Student Wang immediately went to get fruit juice. That princess drank a mouthful and her eyes started to turn. "I want some coffee."

"My arms are a little sore."

"My shoulders feel a little tired."

Student Wang was frantically busy. However, he was willing to take such suffering. There's no problem to it! You could try all you want to trouble me, but I'm perfectly composed. Everything was easy to talk about since the main matter was settled.

The Skylink rang. It was from Aina. Lin Huiyin immediately stood up and spat her little tongue out. "Shhh, it's over. Sister will definitely scold me."

"Ah, my dearest sister, what's the issue?" Huiyin opened her eyes wide like an innocent rabbit.

Aina didn't know whether to laugh or cry. This brat could really cause trouble. "You are asking me what the issue is? I'm asking why you disappeared suddenly. This is such a huge thing, and you didn't say a word!"

"Sister, it's actually nothing much. I just wished to head out and move around. I didn't do anything."

"Is it?" Aina seemed to be smiling but wasn't.

Wang Zheng felt that he had to be honest. No matter what, he couldn't let Lin Huiyin take the blame. He coughed a few times and said, "Aina… student. The truth is that it was me who asked Huiyin for a favour. This is something very important to me. I'm sorry that I have caused you trouble."

It was indeed rather troublesome. Aina looked at Wang Zheng and turned to look at Huiyin again. This brat seemed to listen and act according to whatever Wang Zheng said. This wasn't a good sign. However, this person was still rather responsible and didn't evade the issue.

"Student Wang Zheng, these types of things will bring Huiyin a lot of pressure. I hope that there won't be a second time," said Aina. She had intended to speak a few more lines but just couldn't say it despite the words already at the tip of mouth.

Wang Zheng smiled faintly. "Huiyin and I are friends. We have become friends not because she is a princess but because she is Lin Huiyin. I'm really grateful that she could help me in this. Perhaps in the eyes of others this might seem like a small thing but it is very important to me."

If Huiyin were to encounter any accidents, he would also take action. Even though Huiyin might not face such a situation, this wasn't a trade.

Looking at the forceful and convicted Wang Zheng, Aina was stunned and couldn't say another line. Lin Huiyin, who was at a corner, appeared to be satisfied and smiling very happily.

Friend… Can one from the Royal Family really have true friends?

Aina didn't know, but when she saw the smile on Huiyin, she also smiled. "Alright then, I will settle the rest. I have also applied for leave on your behalf. However, you all have to be back on time and cannot delay any further."

"Sister, you are the best. I love you the most. We are on our way back now." Huiyin smiled and sent a flying kiss over.

After switching off the Skylink, Huiyin heaved a huge sigh of relief. As long as her sister was standing on her side, everything would be fine.

"Brother Wang Zheng, you are still the one who has the solution. I have never seen my sister concede so easily."

Huiyin said as she clapped. Although she couldn't remember, it seemed that her sister was still stifled by Brother Wang Zheng. It's so fun.

Wang Zheng smiled faintly and said, "I have really troubled you this time."

"Hmm, didn't you say we are friends? Why are you still so courteous? I'm not happy!"

Huiyin pouted her little lips.

"What do I need to do to make you happy then, my Princess Highness?" laughed Wang Zheng.

Huiyin's large eyes turned and she said, "You have to sing with me. I also want to play cards. Mm… I still want…"

Wang Zheng really didn't know that Huiyin had so many things that she wanted to do. Some of the things might be so easy for a normal person but to her, it seemed so far and unreachable.

They had three days of time anyway. No matter what, Wang Zheng would have to play with Huiyin to their content.

Angela had already settled and arranged the other things. Huiyin who was exhausted from playing had also fallen asleep. Angela rarely saw the Princess sleeping so sweetly and happily. Huiyin was even laughing when she had already fallen asleep.

Wang Zheng didn't go to sleep. He still had to do two hours of training. The conditions on the spaceship were very good.

Footsteps sounded. Wang Zheng was still doing push ups. The strength and flexibility of the muscles were equally important. This kind of cell activity training had to be maintained in order to maintain the best condition.

From the endless battle, Wang Zheng started to feel the importance of mastering more battle techniques. When facing the tentacles Zerg, a lot of his battle styles were completely useless. Leaning Landslide and High Frequency Steps couldn't be used at all when facing the tentacles Zerg. No matter if it was because of the evolution of the Zerg or what, this was something he had to face. Through more mastery and integrating it into the soul with battles, it would become abilities that he could use as he wished.

Angela didn't say a word too and just watched Wang Zheng doing his training. The two of them could also be considered to be "old and familiar friends." Angela rarely saw anyone as hardworking as Wang Zheng who also never slacked off. His body and mental conditions were kept at tip-top all the time. This was something that was rarely seen even in professional soldiers and special agents. Moreover, this guy was still very young and should be 20 this year. Sometimes, Angela just didn't know what were the objectives of Wang Zheng.

As one who knew what happened internally, Angela was really feeling a little lost. No matter if it was Aina or Lin Huiyin, if Wang Zheng was able to hold on to one, many could say that he could become rich overnight. It wouldn't be an exaggeration to describe it as a sparrow becoming a phoenix. However, only Angela knew that he did not have such thoughts. Just like Huiyin Highness might not have noticed it herself, the truth was that she probably had some good feelings about Wang Zheng subconsciously. At this moment, If Wang Zheng were to make use of her, others wouldn't be able to do anything to stop him. However, Wang Zheng's feelings for her were more of that of care and doting and not any other factors. This seemed a little impossible in the eyes of Angela.

One should know that the difficulty for Wang Zheng to be with Huiyin would be slightly lower than for him to be with Aina. As the second Princess, she was high and noble. However, she wouldn't affect the rule of the country. On the other hand, Aina was different.

Frankly speaking, even if something were to happen between the two of them, there would be no chance at all in the end. No matter if Aina still remembered or had forgotten, the truth was, forgetting about it was a form of relief for her. It was the same for her and for Wang Zheng.

This was also probably why Wang Zheng wasn't willing to go and awakened Aina's memories. This man, was actually acceptable.

Angela didn't feel that Wang Zheng was like a saint. He definitely had his own desires and things he chased after. However, this person had his bottom line and cared a lot about relationships and brotherhood. He had gone all the way and expended so much effort just to attend his good friend's wedding. In the eyes of others, it might seem like nothing important. It was the same to just send a congratulatory video. However, living on, the important thing was the process. For that memory, being there was important.

"Wang Zheng, have you ever considered joining the Aslan Empire?" asked Angela suddenly.

Chapter 908: Demonstrating Zerg Moves

Wang Zheng smiled slightly. "I will not."

Angela nodded. "I should have seen it coming. Although I'm not too fond of you, I still respect your ability. I'm curious as to where you will end up as well."

"I'll take each step as it comes." Wang Zheng continued training, and Angela did not disturb him further. She shook her head and left.

She did not like Wang Zheng, because he complicated her work terribly. But personally, she admired him. He was self-confident without being conceited, determined but not stubborn, and not someone who would turn to rage in despair. He was not bad company for the princess, as things went.

In this three day trip, Lin Huiyin started to play with more abandon, and Wang Zheng tried his best to suit her. Huiyin learnt training from Wang Zheng, and Wang Zheng was also forced to sing. Compared to Huiyin, his voice was out of tune, but edged hers in emotional expressivity.

The spaceship returned to Roland Garros at the fastest speed, and Wang Zheng could not repress a sigh. This was unbelievable, something that only the Aslan royalty could accomplish. The might of the Aslan Empire was definitely not merely what was denoted on paper. Perhaps other nations were developing at a rapid rate, but concretely they could not hope to compare.

After returning to college, Aina had not said much about that matter to Wang Zheng. This was Aina's personality. She would not pursue such matters, but this did leave Wang Zheng a little wistful. When he returned, he immediately threw himself into training against the tentacled Zerg.

What was fortunate was that Lie Xin had accepted his invitation, but Lie Xin had clearly stated that cooperation would be limited to the business of the tentacled Zerg. Wang Zheng honestly had no idea why Lie Xin was behaving this way, but to each their choices. Perhaps Lear's approach was a better fit for her. But they really needed her abilities on this matter.

Lie Xin, Achilles, Zhang Shan, Vincent, Takumi, Snow Li.

Against such monsters, it was not simply a matter of "the more the merrier". If one could not keep up with the Battle Team pace, they would not only be ineffective, but also become an impediment.

Wang Zheng displayed what he had prepared on the Skylink. "The tentacled monsters' movements revolve around straight lines. If they are forced to arc, they have to reduce their speed drastically. The other main movement they use is in an intersecting rhombus."

"Intersecting rhombus?" Zhang Shan asked.

"That's right. About 13 different hybrids. Basically they do not deviate from these variations. Besides this, the tentacles attack with a lot of angle control, but this has its limits. Out of the 8 tentacles, when more than half attack at the same time, the response time decreases by a certain degree. Two vital parts. One is the laser eyes, the other is the belly. The laser eyes are also its main attack point, and difficult to penetrate. My plan is for five people to break the defenses. One main, Snow Li. You made your name as a sniper after all. Don't worry about what happens before. You just concern yourself with the crucial blow."

Snow Li nodded. Takumi chuckled. "Wang Zheng, seems like you already have some thoughts on the issue. Let's get to it then. The school has been taking this very seriously, but no one has done it up till now."

Of course, this included Imperial Glory, Asura, Dynasty, and other big names. And it had been proven that numbers meant nothing.

"This isn't enough. I need everyone to be able to keep up with my movements. A simultaneous attack must outpace the Zerg' limits. Only then can Lie Xin deliver the crucial attack." Wang Zheng said. "Takumi, your tank is reliable enough to take hits from me. At the same time, you need to watch out for yourself. Vincent, your Gold Wheel mecha must achieve dual wielding. Fake dual wielding just won't cut it."

Takumi was taken aback, but nodded. His mouth twitched with interest. Vincent was surprised too. He understood what true dual wielding entailed. This was something that others did not realize, but Vincent's Gold Wheel mecha indeed lacked a little firepower.

"Zhang Shan, you must be capable of executing three consecutive warps, and quicker. In one burst, you need to create a disruption for the Zerg's movements. Snow Li, you need to extend the time of your Frost ability. The moment you gather your ability X, the Zerg will immediately sense it. We won't be able to get results that way. That's why you need to be able to gather and release it in an instant." Wang Zheng said. "The core of this battle plan is that we cannot give the Zerg any window for escape. Once it escapes, the plan will crumble."

"Do Zerg run away?" Zhang Shan asked. The buggers charged and killed blindly. Did the word "escape" even apply?

"All sentient creatures will. This is very clear for the abyss Zerg. Of course, even abyss Zerg have their limits. When they act individually, they have such self-protection instincts. Of course, when the overmind is present, such instincts do not appear." Wang Zheng said. His understanding of the Zerg was only a little less thorough than Butcher and the rest.

Wang Zheng's own comprehensive understanding of the Zerg had also developed through his exchanges with Butcher, including the language and movements of the Zerg.

"What about me and Lie Xin?" Achilles asked.

Wang Zheng smiled. Both of their physical skills were mature, and they had their own styles and physical abilities. He need not say much. "Take on the Zerg solo. Best if you can hold for more than three minutes."

Achilles and Lie Xin looked at each other. "Wang Zheng, you punk. You wouldn't be trying to do us in, would you?"

Lie Xin said with a hint of provocation. Such a battle would be a retreating defense. Being finished off by the Zerg was not a nice feeling.

Wang Zheng laughed. "Come on, would I? If you can't even hold them off for three minutes, then we can't even proceed."

"Can you?" Lie Xin asked.

Wang Zheng nodded. "Time is not an issue, although I can't finish them off by myself."

"I don't believe you. Show us. If you can hold on for more than five minutes, then three will be no problem for me."

Lie Xin said. Wang Zheng was a monster. Until now, she had no idea where he had come from. Perhaps the Sage knew something, even if he was secretive about it. But as far as the Lie family knew, he had come from a common background. The only gap in this was the missing parents, who had disappeared without a trace.

Wang Zheng did not hesitate. "Sure. It will be a good opportunity for everyone to see the Zerg' movement trajectories and habits. Its movements are not centered around the tentacles, but an expression change."

Tentacles were soft weapons, close to a whip. Those who played with such weapons knew that the key was in the hand movements. Those who watched the whip itself were sure to be flayed to death.

They did not waste more time with words. The purpose of today's meeting was to get the procedure down. The 4 Regions had declared a prize. Whichever student could finish first would gain additional points. And if a Battle Team completed it, the school would also provide favorable conditions for the Battle Team, such as a better venue, more time and training privileges. This was exactly what every Battle Team needed.

Wang Zheng and Saruman Snake Battle Team did not think too much about it. Wang Zheng was going to give a demonstration, and Ai Xiaolu and the rest tagged along as well. Saruman Snake's resources mostly came from Ai Xiaolu. But after all, this was a Battle Team, and they could not let Ai Xiaolu be the sole investor. They had to stick to some rules. Wang Zheng wanted to use this battle to spread Saruman Snake's reputation as more than just a lucky dark horse. At the same time, he hoped to get even more support from the school. Compared to Battle Teams like Asura and Imperial Glory, Saruman Snake Battle Team's conditions were considerably worse off. If they could not secure better conditions, then the talent would not be willing to join.

Wang Zheng had already entered the arena to face the tentacle monster. Luckily, he had Yan Xiaosu's wedding as a welcome break. When he closed his eyes, he no longer saw tentacles. He no longer ate octopus now either. It was too sensitive.

He was sanguine about the choice of mecha. He was familiar with the Zerg now. Different mechas simply meant different fighting styles. But if he wanted to demonstrate the Zerg' unique features to the fullest, then the Phantom King and Wind God were more suitable choices.

In this battle, the objective was not to go head to head with the Zerg, and mentally Wang Zheng was more relaxed. He chose Wind God.

"Saruman Snake's Wang Zheng is going to solo a tentacle monster?"

"Seems that way. Just him alone."

"That guy likes to show off. It's impossible. Even Marzu couldn't do it. The closest bet would be Asura Battle Team, but they can't handle it either."

"It's hopeless. The worm is too agile. It's specialized to break down all defenses. Sometimes Battle Teammates even become burdens."

"Well, let's see how long this legendary leader can hold out for."

"Who knows, he might even win."

"If he can win solo, I'll call him Father from now on. Don't even mention winning. If he can last for more than five minutes, I'll call him Father. Saruman Snake Battle Team's go-hard tactics don't have the necessary qualities. And abyss Zerg don't make mistakes."

Battle power depended on physical and mental condition to a large extent, but the Zerg were always consistent. They were neither susceptible to vanity nor carelessness.

The ferocious attack power that this abyss Zerg displayed in fights gave one the chills. The image of tentacles boring into a mecha left a deep impression on the imagination. Even a simulated battle was enough to give one nightmares.

Chapter 909: Shocking Solo Fight

Wind God entered. The deep abyss' terrain was completely unsuited for humankind's mecha to fight in, especially in small skirmishes.

Wang Zheng was the king of the newcomers, the leader of Saruman Snake Battle Team. Presently, he was a hot favorite in the Greatest King competition. Interest in him was definitely high. Many did not regard him as a king at present, but only because he still needed to deepen his influence and networks. He was definitely the king of the newcomers. By right, people like Wang Zheng were precisely the ones who should watch their own reputation. Those who were regarded as kings had the bandwidth to make occasional mistakes without being too affected. The diehard fans would even find some excuse to explain the slip-ups. But if a newcomer king faltered, the blow to their reputation would be huge. Those who made their name for themselves, like Yang Pan, often did so because of their go-getter personality. Part of the reason was that Yang Pan was leaving soon, and therefore did not attract much attention anymore. As a result, the accumulated attention had been redirected to Wang Zheng.

In just a short while, the news had spread throughout the school grapevine. Wang Zheng was going to take on a deep abyss tentacle monster alone.

Saruman Snake Battle Team was not too bothered by this. Ai Xiaolu had merely notified those who were invested. This was Wang Zheng's first major demonstration.

Wind God entered, and the deep abyss tentacle monster was burrowing over. This ground-type tentacle monster's mid-air reach was not high, and was of a short stature as well, but it was especially savage. The moment it realized that the opponent was outnumbered or weaker, it would unscrupulously throw everything it had to tear its opponent to bits. As a result, everyone was reluctant to face such a monster alone in the simulated battles.

A paper mecha like Wind God would have its fragile energy shield smashed in the blink of an eye. And the magnetic energy source that gave Wind God its fame was mostly ineffectual when facing the tentacle monster. Many times, the pilot had already died by the time the magnetic energy kicked in. The tentacle monster loved this. After a group battle, it would shred the armor last.

Facing such a Zerg again, Wang Zheng felt something was amiss… This Zerg's aura was not as strong compared to the one in the Rubik's Cube. It looked similar, but there was a slight difference. Besides the queen Zerg, perhaps only Wang Zheng would be able to sense it.

"I'm interested to see exactly what kind of monster the Earthlings' Wind God is."

"Haha, I wanna see how he plans to deal with the first round of onslaught by the tentacle Zerg."

But contrary to their expectations, the tentacle Zerg cautiously climbed out. The ferocious attacking posture had quickly shriveled up, and the way the tentacles waved displayed… a strong fear???

Wang Zheng's Wind God unsheathed its titanium blade. His body and mind were already completely adjusted to deal with tentacle Zerg. He would never display emotion again. This was something that only humans could do, a forceful adaptation. As long as they did not die, they could use any rhythm.

Wind God advanced step by step towards the tentacle Zerg, the engine maintaining its normal output. But a strange scene was unfolding… as Wind God advanced, the tentacle Zerg was actually slowly retreating.

Zhang Shan and the rest were stunned… How could this happen? From the beginning, this crazy Zerg had been biting and chomping. For the Zergs to be afraid was unheard of.

Of course, this Zerg was not afraid, but had sensed a dangerous aura. It sensed a trap, but there was only one mecha fighter!

In truth, the Saruman Snake Battle Team members were nonplussed.

The fangs that covered the Zerg's mouth were enormous. This was a deterrent, used to scare off formidable enemies. The Zerg sensed a dangerous aura emanating from Wang Zheng. Just the overwhelming and unshakable confidence alone was enough. Deep abyss Zerg, which had survived for so long based on their innate abilities, were especially sensitive to auras.

Wang Zheng was completely desensitized to this. The telling move of Zergs was different from humans. Unless there was something to be protected, like the Queen Zerg, the Zergs' battle capabilities were extremely predictable. Wang Zheng might even know some of the Zerg's moves better than its own mother did.

In an instant, the Zerg burrowed towards him.

At that moment, some of those who were still in class had been notified by their friends via Skylink, and a wave of surreptitious streaming spread across the school campus.

"D*mn, what the hell is going on?"

Solo facing a Zerg, and to actually intimidate it enough to burrow him. What was happening!

Wang Zheng was not in the least bit gratified. Such honor was hollow. The Zerg could indeed sense an uncontrollable murderous intent emanating from his body, but it did not mean he could slay the Zerg.

Shing…

The ground that Wind God stood on trembled slightly, and Wind God took to the air, its titanium blade flashing in an arc before cleaving down. In the same instant, the tentacle Zerg exploded from the ground, curled up. Countless fighters had fallen to this move alone, ground to smithereens. Those who had been on the receiving end before knew that this move was extremely sudden, and was packed with an intense kinetic energy. Save heavy armor, being shaken to the point of vomiting blood was already getting off easy.

But Wind God's titanium blade connected cleanly with the shell, sending sparks flying. But this was just the beginning. In an instant, the curled up Zerg flung itself outwards, the 8 claws flashing out towards Wind God. This was the second barrage. Even if someone could avoid the first attack, this lightning attack enclosed one like a net, and was equally fatal.

Shing Shing Shing…

The magnetic energy source flew out, but Wang Zheng did not fly towards the magnetic energy source. Instead, he forced the mecha forward, charging towards the mouth of the Zerg. When the Zerg was in the midst of such an attack, it could not use its mouth cannon to attack.

Immediately, the Zerg retracted four of its tentacles to defend. Ting ting ting ting…

The titanium blade twisted and flashed, instantly batting aside four of the tentacles trying to stop it. A hard parry was useless, let alone trying to cut it. Against such things, one had to redirect the momentum, but one had to be fast!

Wang Zheng was already approaching the mouth, and the Zerg's fangs retreated readily. Wang Zheng sighed inwardly. It could not be helped. The magnetic energy source answered, flying out suddenly. The Zerg turned half a somersault, revealing its back. At the same time, the 8 tentacles again formed a surrounding wall, but Wang Zheng had already flown out, batting away 2 tentacles that were trying to stop him.

Shing shing…

Two consecutive movements. Almost in the same instant that it landed, Wind God flew towards the Zerg directly. This speed was almost as fast as Zhang Shan's warp.

Uppercut!

BOOM…

The tentacle Zerg was sent flying, but by the time Wang Zheng tried another attack, the Zerg immediately burrowed down again.

The entire crowd was silent. F*ck, his attack speed and reaction time were unnatural.

From the simulation's release up till now, no one had ever made it this far.

BOOM…

The Zerg ferociously tunneled up again. The Zerg had clearly been beaten to the point where it was not thinking clearly. In contrast, Wang Zheng was very calm. The magnetic energy source instantly drew him away, but he did not engage immediately. This test was useless, he had to clash directly.

Wind God executed all kinds of weaving movements within the encirclement of the 8 tentacles. Wang Zheng was well versed with the moment patterns of the Zergs. Many were irrationally afraid of these soft weapons, and wasted precious reaction time on judging the trajectory. Once exposed, each movement could be easily predicted. Furthermore, soft weapons had their limits, because the Zerg itself had to avoid getting tangled up. The fact that no Zerg had ever tied itself into a knot was evidence that there was a limit to it.

Any thing that existed had its rules, and no rule escaped Wang Zheng's analytic abilities.

BOOM BOOM BOOM…

The titanium blade danced, the counterattacking blade was completely defensive. This was also the best method. Wang Zheng knew that he must close in in order to deal with the Zerg. What he had to watch out for was a certain spot where the Zerg had a sure-win angle, where he would die without question. But as long as he avoided this spot, the Zerg would not be able to finish him off.

And Wang Zheng's problem was that the Zerg had a sure-win spot, which constantly appeared. Although he had a high possibility of avoiding it, but he could not find its counterpart – his own sure-win angle.

This was something that one person in one mecha would not be able to achieve. His present mastery of the mecha abilities was still not perfect.

Wang Zheng avoided the Zerg's attack again, and Wind God kicked out at the Zerg, although he did not press the attack. This was a trap. Such an attack was ineffective against the Zergs. The magnetic energy source kicked in, and he left in a flash. As expected, the Zerg rolled over after the kick, and immediately pounced again.

BOOM…

The earth split, and the Zerg disappeared again.

Wang Zheng's Wind God stood silently, but the whole school was shocked. Was he really doing this?

This Zerg that slaughtered people without a thought?

Zhang Shan was spluttering. He finally understood that he and Wang Zheng were using completely different mecha.

Only in Wang Zheng's hands, could the mecha truly deserve the name of Wind God.

Godlike control, flitting about like the wind. If Wang Zheng became a scout, his opponents would definitely be extremely afraid.

BOOM…

The Zerg was on the offense again, but Wang Zheng seemed to be able to see the future. He accurately judged the landing point, and was even able to predict the following attack pattern.

Wang Zheng's judgement was based on the movement of the Zerg's fangs. This was a detail that the Zerg was unable to change. After countless attempts, the Zerg would definitely expose this. But such a detail was often noted in passing, but unable to be applied. In the heat of a real battle, one barely had time to react, unless it became instinct.

The hellish feeling left even Wang Zheng repulsed.

But in exchange, one could move freely in battle.

The Zerg was hapless against Wang Zheng's Wind God. The Wind God passed through the tentacle Zerg's attacks, at times even cutting at it or kicking it. But the Wind God's battle power was clearly insufficient to finish it off. Although the Zerg was frenzied, but its emotional response was relatively muted, which meant that it would not display "mindless" clawing.

Just like that, the two exchanged blows for over half an hour.

Wang Zheng's stamina was holding up well. The Primordial Regression Technique was executed well, and because he had no chance, his control was also fairly good. There was no end to this approach, but Wang Zheng knew that at the end, the Zerg held the advantage. He had tested this before, and the one who perished was inevitably the human.

But the system halted the battle, because the time allocated at the start had been half an hour. For anyone else, the battle would have ended before then already.

Butcher was watching intently from the lab. He knew what Wang Zheng lacked!

Perhaps he did not even need a Battle Team. Perhaps he stood a chance of accomplishing it regardless.

Chapter 910: Runic Mech?

Translator: Abyssruler, AtlasStudios Editor: Lucas, AtlasStudios

Aina and Huiyin were in class. Aina was clearly listening intently, but Huiyin was humming to herself. Ever since her sister had come, she had felt a sense of relief. She no longer had to uphold the image of a princess when Aina was around to keep the standard high. In fact, she was bored, and was surfing the hot discussion topics. She found Wang Zheng's battle, and was soon engrossed.

The lecturer soon felt that something was amiss. Logic class was something these students never paid attention to. Why were they so quiet today? Perhaps these guys were finally starting to realize the practical utility of logic…

Aina was not too fazed at the start, but she could not resist watching in the end. She had no idea what he was thinking, to face that monster alone. Even Imperial Glory Battle Team were unable to deal with it. But soon even Aina's attention was far from class, completely immersed in the battle.

The period bell rang, and the lecturer was extremely gratified. These elites, the future. What mature youngsters! "Anything else you lot want to know about?"

The room was silent, and it finally dawned on the lecturer. These rascals!

But after a minute, he went with the flow. "This is a model example of practical application of logic. Very good movements. Acting only after a calm decision."

The students were unsatisfied with his nagging to act after thinking. Against such speed, they were dead many times over by the time they were done thinking.

"A pity. I thought Wang Zheng could win." Huiyin sighed.

Aina smiled and shook her head. "Winning is impossible. From the start, a mecha choice like the Wind God doesn't have the necessary offensive power. But it is marvelous. He seems almost psychic."

Lin Huiyin twinkled. "Sis, you seem to have a very good impression of Wang Zheng."

Aina was taken aback. "Why do you say that?"

"Because you usually call people by their names."

Aina pondered this a moment. She wasn't that close with Wang Zheng.

Wang Zheng's demonstration had wowed the crowd. Zhang Shan was fairly smart, and he had already roughly anticipated what Wang Zheng wanted him to do. To use all of his strength in that one instant.

Wang Zheng walked out, sweat pouring from his body. "The movement and attack patterns of the worm is roughly like so. The method is to wear down enough of its defenses and to setup a killing opportunity for Lie Xin."

They understood the key. It was not just about attacks. They had to stop the worm from playing its hit and run games. This was the most difficult thing.

First they had to be convinced. Then the specific training could begin. Wang Zheng simply needed them to get accustomed to the worms' movement patterns. The tank's endurance, Vincent's offense, Gold Wheel's attacks would not directly target the body, but the tentacles instead. Similarly, they were aiming for a disruptive effect. This was a more difficult requirement.

Even so, they needed a few attempts to refine their moves. But Wang Zheng was convinced that this tactic, once polished, would consistently best the tentacle Zergs, and in a manner where they would not lose members. This was also Butcher's desired result. Victory was the first step but, more importantly, it had to be achieved in a manner that minimized Battle Team injuries.

Saruman Snake Battle Team's mood was excited. Achilles was also fully using his mobility potential, fully synchronizing with Wang Zheng's training plan. Achilles, who had been nurtured by the Moon's elite education from young, had expertise in the finer details which Wang Zheng could not match.

Some were galvanized, while others were dejected. Although Zhang Shan had put in his very best efforts, but he was still hitting a wall. The worms were determining that he was the weakest link, and targeting him first every time. Saruman Snake Battle Team had tried twice, but met with failure each time. The worms were fairly competent at throwing a Battle Team into disarray, and Wang Zheng's individual agility could not be matched. But after a few all-out attempts, they had made some inroads. What was needed was major adherence to Wang Zheng's commands directing the pace. Affinity was very important!

Not a day went by that Zhang Shan was not doing basic training.

But normal training would not help Zhang Shan catch up to the basics of others, who had spent many years perfecting their own.

Luckily Wang Zheng, who had been through the Rubik's Cube before, had an idea that would help Zhang Shan finish accumulating his basics in record time.

"What special training?" Zhang Shan's heart twinged. He had a bad feeling about this.

Wang Zheng smiled. "First, do the horse stance for an hour."

Zhang Shan was taken aback. Just horse stance? That wasn't too difficult.

After an hour…

Zhang Shan wanted to scream at somebody. If anybody ever dared to tell him that horse stance wasn't difficult, he would stick it to them on the double. The position that Wang Zheng had instructed him to hold was as tiring as possible. An ordinary horse stance, he could hold it for an hour or two, no problem. IG's training camp had not been for naught. But this horse stance that Wang Zheng had shown him, it was a killer!

"Wang Zheng… Isn't… time… up… yet?"

What was worse, Wang Zheng was sitting in front of him, scrolling and flicking through his Skylink, and lazing around like a boss.

"Is it? You still have the energy to talk?"

"No…" Zhang Shan was sweating now.

Wang Zheng lifted two fingers. "How many?"

"Two."

"Oh, you still can talk, and see clearly. Half an hour more, it is."

"…" Zhang Shan wanted to scream.

But after seeing Wang Zheng's smiling face, he chose to believe in Wang Zheng. They had been together since Ares College, had gone through IG together, had come to Inner Roland together, had fought in Elite Academy X together. If he could not trust Wang Zheng, who else could he trust?

He gritted his teeth. All out now. Brother was a genius. What was fatigue? When did genius ever fear hard work? AAARGH!

Wang Zheng was not actually lazing away, but creating a custom special training for Zhang Shan. This squatting horse stance was a diagnostic test for Zhang Shan's body. Only by understanding this could he complete the plan. He was beginning to understand how Bonehead felt when he was being tortured in the Rubik's Cube back then. This was the only way to free one from their laziness. The sooner one got used to it, the better.

At that moment, the Skylink flashed. An incoming call from Butcher.

Wang Zheng started. He had just accepted the call, when he heard Butcher laughing. "Wang Zheng, I watched your last attempt in fighting the worms. A pity. In terms of affinity, you all are still lacking."

"Senior, we're trying. But if we keep this up, we should be able to solve those problems."

"I have good news for you this time. Your runic mecha's prototype is finally out. Are you interested in going to Gemini Star for a test run?"

Gemini Star? Wang Zheng was surprised. Why did he have to go to Gemini Star for tests? Wait- Gemini Star that had seven times the usual gravity! Wang Zheng turned to eye Zhang Shan, who was still sweating in his horse stance. Eureka!

"Interested."

"Aren't you going to ask why you have to go to Gemini Star?"

"If I do, can you tell me the answer?"

"I can't."

Wang Zheng chuckled. Then what was the point of asking? Wang Zheng knew that it would not be as simple as a test run.

"Haha, you rascal. Sometimes, youre too sharp for your own good. Don't like that about you. Dawn flight tomorrow. Right, this is a special mission, which I think suits you. Which is why I recommended you. There's additional school points to be won." Butcher guffawed with clear affection. He loved talking to youngsters. It made him feel like the years fell away.

After entering the second year, the school would provide all kinds of missions much like the experiential mission to Hail Cloud Alliance the last time. Increase their experience, and accumulate knowledge. This was also an important lesson for elites.

Chapter 911: Mating Call

Translator: Abyssruler, AtlasStudios Editor: Lucas, AtlasStudios

Of course, these missions were not available to just anybody. The school conducted strict selections. Each person would have vastly different missions available to them.

The moment Wang Zheng hung up, Zhang Shan started to make a fuss.

"Wang Zheng… I can't hold it anymore…"

"If you can still talk, then it's not 'can't hold it anymore' yet…"

"It's not that, my stomach hurts…"

"Tide through it, be at peace."

"D*mn, it's diarrhea." Zhang Shan was swelling up.

"…" Wang Zheng was speechless for a full five seconds. "Go quickly."

Creating a special training plan for this guy was going to stretch unorthodox to its very limits. Luckily, Butcher had mentioned Gemini Star. It was a fortuitous chance.

Zhang Shan cringed in frustration. People had three uncontrollable urges, he could not be blamed. But even he had no idea that fatigue had caused it.

The next morning, Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan had just boarded the space shuttle, when they were surprised by Lie Xin in a sexy getup, reclining in the shuttle's rest area.

"Lie Xin? You're here too? Not bad, you look really fetching. Looks like this journey won't be lonely." Zhang Shan's eyes widened. Lie Xin's figure was just right. Especially those legs, they seemed even sexier than before. What was more, she never hid it under wraps.

Lie Xin's gaze swept coldly over Zhang Shan to rest on Wang Zheng. "If y'all can come, can't I?"

"Of course you can. What Zhang Shan meant was, Good Morning. It's a pleasant surprise to see you." Wang Zheng smiled. They had been cooperating before this, and getting along with Lie Xin would not be difficult. Perhaps the performance of the team had aroused Butcher's interest. Who knew what that old geezer was thinking?

"Lie Xin." At this moment, a petite figure walked out from the cabin. "I just made coffee. Do you want some?"

Zhang Shan's eyes widened even further. This sylph-like cutie was no other than the genius girl of Gemini Star, and one of Starry team's main force. The loli without comparison, Ao Ziwei, and also Gemini Star's IG captain!

Loli Ao served a cup of coffee to Lie Xin, then raised her head to look at Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan with a dimpled smile: "Wang Zheng, nice to see you. Cappuccino?"

"Yes please."

Zhang Shan poked his nose with his own finger. Me? Me?

But clearly, Loli Ao was ignoring him, although she eventually poured him a cup, black, which went a little way to soothing Zhang Shan's wounded spirit.

Wang Zheng smiled, seeing Lie Xin, oozing sexiness, beside the pure loli Ao Ziwei. When the two of them stood side by side, it was a different picture of beauty. Only, when did the two of them get so close? The world of girls was indeed strange.

Ao Ziwei's abilities were imbued with a hint of Light affinity, while Lie Xin's was fire. Fire and Light was indeed a mutually advancing pairing.

At this moment, Butcher walked in, under the gaze of his numerous fans. Seeing Wang Zheng, Butcher's eyes lit up. He shrugged off the crowd, and pulled Wang Zheng to one side, engaging him in discussion. "Come come come, perfect timing. I have a few design questions about the runic mecha, which I need to refine based on your habits…"

Since he was also a member of the Genesis Coffee Club, and they were not in school, Butcher did not treat Wang Zheng as an outsider at all. The familiar way he chatted with Wang Zheng left Ao Ziwei at the side blinking like an owl. That couldn't be right. She had heard about Butcher's temperament, which was supposed to be sour and rigid. But the way he treated Wang Zheng made him seem almost human.

Since they were all present, the shuttle quickly rose and took off. It used Inner Roland's specially designated air route, and had quickly left Roland Garros' gravity field behind. After a bumpy phase, it directly entered subspace.

Butcher was discussing the runic mecha's details with Wang Zheng when two middle-aged men in suits approached from one side of the cabin.

Butcher looked up and brought the conversation to a halt. He smacked his forehead: "How forgetful of me… Let me introduce everybody. Wang Zheng, these are Qi Bin and Kulifa, Zerg tribe specialists, and members of our research team."

"Keke, hello there, little student. How do you do? Professor Butcher, do we take recess inside?"

Qi Bin had a goatee and bright eyes. He had a very intellectual look.

And Kulifa was a burly man. Most distinct of his features was his nose bridge, high as the Himalayas. A thick pair of glasses rested on them.

The two were clearly looking to speak to Butcher in private.

Butcher nodded to Wang Zheng, signifying that they would continue the conversation later, and then walked with the pair to the meeting room.

After Butcher left, Zhang Shan, who had been exploring the whole shuttle, sidled up close. "Wang Zheng, the facilities on this shuttle are amazing. Everything you could think of."

Leaving the Elite Academy X environment behind, Zhang Shan had a relaxed feel to him. A change of environment was indeed useful in breaking the bottleneck.

Wang Zheng smiled. This was a Inner Roland standard mission shuttle. The facilities were wonderful, but…"How about three hours of horse stance? Do you remember yesterday's stance?"

Zhang Shan's jaw dropped. No way. He had stood for a little over an hour yesterday, and his ass was already so sore that the diarrhea had been as unhappy an experience as could be. Three hours today? "

"This… Is horse stance really going to be useful?" Thinking of the hardship his butt was going to suffer, he could not resist trying to bargain with Wang Zheng.

Wang Zheng nodded sternly. "What you lack is your basics. Horse stance is the basic of basics."

Zhang Shan rolled his eyes. Alright then. If Wang Zheng said so, then even if it was a lie, he would have to comply.

"Wang Zheng, since we both have nothing to do, let's have a match."

Lie Xin said. She did not wait for his reply, but beckoned and headed for the training room.

Zhang Shan, having just assumed the horse stance, looked at Lie Xin's sexy back figure and his mouth watered. He wanted to go too… Especially when Lie Xin was in hot pants, those creamy legs… How was this a fighting exchange? It was benefits. But thinking about Lie Xin's battle strength, he would definitely be left on the floor unconscious until they arrived at their destination.

Wang Zheng smiled slightly, and followed. Wang Zheng would never shun from a fight, especially when the opponent was the Lie Flame Technique.

"Let me see how strong you've become!"

Lie Xin walked to the center of the field, and suddenly whirled about. Her energy exploded out. Her perfectly sculpted right leg flew straight towards Wang Zheng.

BOOM…

The flames blazed out. Lie Xin had used Lie Flame Technique from the get-go. Formidable suppressive power, which scorched the air itself in the training room.

Wang Zheng dodged lightly, letting Lie Xin's fiercest attack pass by him. But Lie Xin did not pause. The flames whipped around, her long leg flashing out like a lightning whip.

Wang Zheng's right hand raised to meet it, and felt a burning wave of energy rush up to meet him. He could only continue retreating. Lie Xin was fighting very savagely, and her fire had an intense feel about it.

BOOM BOOM BOOM…

Lie Xin unleashed six consecutive kicks, each one equally explosive. Suddenly she raised her hands and pressed in close. He was just about to unleash an uppercut, when he saw the swelling bosom of Lie Xin and thought better of it. He immediately changed his move, rushing past the defenses of Lie Xin's hands. His two hands split her attack, clamping down on Lie Xin's knee and counter attacking. They flew up to clasp Lie Xin's right wrist, and with a twist of his body, threw Lie Xin heavily on the ground.

A body that was soft yet firm, so supple that it held a charm that drove one mad, yet Wang Zheng had treated it like a wild beast, and dumped it unceremoniously on the ground.

"Ungh…"

On the ground, Lie Xin let out a soft cry, her legs reacting quickly to clamp about Wang Zheng's waist. But Wang Zheng was faster. His body leaped back, simultaneously avoiding Lie Xin's scissoring legs and letting her fall. He retreated to one side, completely focused and ready to receive Lie Xin's next attack.

Lie Xin kipped back up and stared at Wang Zheng for 2 seconds. Suddenly she announced. "We're done here."

Wang Zheng was feeling a little embarrassed himself as well. Lie Xin was really dressed a little too skimpily. It was difficult for him to ignore.

Lie Xin looked at Wang Zheng, and a mad fire began burning throughout her body. Her body needed release, and the last time she had felt such needs, it had been Wang Zheng's call that had interrupted her.

And now, the feeling was welling up even more strongly. This had nothing to do with affection. It was raw lust that thirsted for carnal sex, like a beast. In Lie Xin's eyes, Wang Zheng was unquestionably a strong match.

"Wang Zheng, what do you think of me?" Lie Xin played with her hair, a sexy move that drove the guys wild.

But in Wang Zheng's eyes, Lie Xin was just Lie Xin. He was not too sure what to make of her little moves. "Lie Flame Technique is very strong. If we go at it for real a few times, I would definitely be left battered…"

"I mean, me. What do you think." Lie Xin batted her eyelashes at him. Teasing Wang Zheng was a fun business. Lie Xin was curious as to whether Wang Zheng had had sex with Aina. That would definitely be something that no man could refuse. It was the ultimate accomplishment that one could brag a lifetime about.

"Um, from a personal standpoint, you're a great friend, otherwise I would not have sought you out about challenging the Zerg."

Wang Zheng smiled. Lie Xin was a little odd today, a little… off.

Lie Xin brushed her hair again. Hearing Wang Zheng's words, her mouth twitched. She wanted to laugh, a little. But the more Wang Zheng was like this, the more the demonic fire in her wanted to burn him all up.

"Wang Zheng, we…"

"Ah, Wang Zheng, Lie Xin, there you are. Professor Butcher asked us to go over…"

Just as Lie Xin was about to make an aggressive move, Ao Ziwei suddenly appeared from outside, interrupting Lie Xin's move.

Butcher did not have anything important, only sharing a few details about the escort mission this time round.

The primary objective was to escort him and his two Zerg tribe specialists to the Gemini Star's Zarro Star secret base, and to protect them while they carried out a series of scientific experimental research. Of course, they were using this opportunity as a test as well. Doing beat theorizing, every time.

Qi Bin smiled, stroking his beautiful goatee. He continued on the topic. "In truth, this mission is very relaxed. Treat it as a vacation. And I'm pleased to meet everybody. I'm Qi Bin, researching Zergs. You can call me Beard Qi. This laconic guy is Kulifa. I love making friends with youngsters."

Qi Bin's eyes inadvertently landed on Lie Xin, and a wave of surprise coursed through him. It was not just her. Lie Xin's body was emanating a beguiling scent from every pore. To a biologist, this was a mating call.

Chapter 912: Using Zerg Against Zerg

Translator: Abyssruler, AtlasStudios Editor: Lucas, AtlasStudios

Lie Xin was not interested in more company. The only thing that caught her interest here was Wang Zheng. There was definitely something attractive there, so much so that even Lie Xin felt that something was unusual.

Wang Zheng had also sensed it a little. The strange charm that Lie Xin was emanating from her body was too strong, although this seemed to be unrelated to him.

Clearly, the scientific experiment this time around on Gemini Star was related to the Zerg and perhaps, Wang Zheng suspected, even concerned with the abyss Zerg.

But all these experimental details were not really their concern. In the upcoming days, Wang Zheng continued to accompany Zhang Shan and supervise his special training, while Lie Xin and Ao Ziwei were getting along well. Ao Ziwei's personality was more reserved, while Lie Xin was more outgoing, and their differences seemed to complement well.

Zhang Shan was kicking himself. Single men and women, an interplanetary vacation. What else could it be?

What a wonderful time for romance. Even if he could not stand Lie Xin's personality, this did not mean they could not enjoy time in bed. Alright, even if Lie Xin was not at all interested, that was fine. There was still loli Ao Ziwei. That prim and cute girl, nicknamed Gemini's Angel, and she was really fetching as well.

But all of this was just a dream.

In the training program that Wang Zheng had designed for him, he could not even sleep properly. Bed? Dream on. He tautened a steel wire on which to sleep. This was one of the ways to train spatial balance.

This trip was undoubtedly Zhang Shan's first metamorphosis. In new environments, especially such an enclosed one, people were often able to quieten their hearts, especially Zhang Shan.

Zhang Shan was giving it his all. Play hard, but work hard too. He wanted to be Saruman Snake Battle team's sword, and not a burden.

And then…

Zhang Shan was discovering how immature his imagined limits were. Wang Zheng was always finding ways to breakthrough his limits and drive. That guy was not human. How could he find so many flaws???

Of course, Wang Zheng was happy. He understood why, in the military, the instructors would always treat their subordinates so harshly. They had come from the same era themselves, and they saw an image of themselves. It was a good feeling.

Qi Bin and Kulifa, the two Zerg scientists, often came to chat with Wang Zheng about the abyss Zerg. Perhaps because of Butcher's praise, and also that Wang Zheng was the only one to come out of the abyss alive, the two wanted to understand how Wang Zheng saw the abyss and the Zerg. Of course, they laughed off Wang Zheng's prudence. Humanity had conquered every last corner of the world. What reason was there to seal off the abyss? It held many of the new biological technologies that humanity needed, and was vital for humanity's development.

Of course, Wang Zheng had learnt much from the two as well. They were after all professionals, and their research on the Zerg tribe was at the forefront of the galaxy's, although they seemed more concerned with the economic and military value.

As Qi Bin left, Zhang Shan, who had just finished a set of pushups, said to Wang Zheng: "Wang Zheng, this Qi Bin seems to have intentions towards Lie Xin."

"Don't spout nonsense. Next up, five sets of situps. 500 in each set." Wang Zheng grinned.

"No way. Wang Zheng, don't you think we should show a little more care and concern to our sisters from the Solar System?" Zhang Shan rubbed his neck, purposely looking for conversation and fighting for each second of rest.

Should they go show some concern to Lie Xin?

Wasn't the person who had intentions on Lie Xin the one who needed the most concern? Heaven knew what danger such a person would be in.

Faced with Zhang Shan's clever skiving, Wang Zheng was speechless. But Zhang Shan was indeed pushing himself, and achieving the desired training result. More, in Zhang Shan's own words, he was after all "no genius".

That night at dinner, Qi Bin did not make an appearance, under the pretext that he was not feeling well. But under Zhang Shan's gossiping soul, Ao Ziwei revealed the truth. Qi Bin had "approached" Lie Xin, and had his face "accidentally" hurt. His features had almost been melted off. Now he was still soaking in the nutrient mix, recovering.

"Why do you ask so much?" Lie Xin turned to stare at Wang Zheng. It seemed like whoever had started the fire had not put it out. Bumpkin Shan wanted to stoke the fire more. If they had not been on a mission, she would not have stopped at "accidentally".

"Nothing." Wang Zheng smiled. He felt maligned. The one who had pressed was Zhang Shan, why did Lie Xin fire back at him instead? Oh, since Zhang Shan seemed to still have energy to gossip, perhaps he should raise the difficulty of his training?

What Wang Zheng did not expect was that, for the remainder of the trip, Qi Bin and Kulifa did not appear in the communal space of the shuttle again. He only met them occasionally when he was looking for Butcher. It seemed like the Lie missy's temper was not good.

The journey was quick, and after a few more leaps, the shuttle finally arrived at Gemini Star.

Gemini Star's most unique feature was not, in fact, the star that balanced perfectly between two gravitational fields, but the two stellar systems Aipu and Zarro. Under all kinds of complex magnetic field effects, the two stars seemed to almost meld together. In their revolutions and rotations, the two stars could be as close as a few hundred meters apart, and were no further than 100km at the furthest.

The dual gravity system that the two planets exerted caused Gemini Star's gravity to be seven times the usual. The moment the shuttle reached Zarro, everyone switched to a special anti-gravity suit to counter the difference, with the exception of Ao Ziwei.

After the shuttle passed through the security inspection of Gemini Star, it directly entered Zarro's atmosphere. It was connected to a secret air channel, and sped its way to Zarro's biggest natural forest "Good Gift".

Gemini Star's Aipu was richer in comparison, as the governmental and economic hub. And as the other star, Zarro's planet quality was only a third of Aipu's. Furthermore, the relatively unforgiving gravitational environment stunted the development rate considerably. Besides about 10 rich megacities, the other regions were only sparsely populated. Good Gift's natural rainforest, in particular, was one of the harshest and unpopulated regions in Zarro.

The shuttle descended in the heart of this natural forest, which was surprisingly a military encampment.

Zhang Shan, who had been dispirited from all the special training, came to life. He stared out the shuttle window at the base outside. "Damn, there's a Wind God mecha here!"

Wang Zheng turned his head to look as well. Two Wind God mechas were returning from outside, and were passing through the base doors. After passing through safety procedures, the automated mechanical nozzle sprayed copious amounts of disinfectant to thoroughly clean the mechas.

It seemed like OMG's Wind God mecha was really popular. But in such forest terrain, Wind God's mobility was indeed put to good use.

Wang Zheng was indeed happy to see Wind God mecha. If Earth's products wanted to spread across the galaxy, it would take more than a few short months. A few of the popular empires' militaries were still considered the big names in the galaxy. And to see Wind God here meant that OMG had truly entered the watchlist of some countries. Even though usage was not wide-spread, but it was a heartening step indeed.

Wang Zheng's anticipation for the runic mecha tests grew now. There were many customizations in it, and Wang Zheng had used the Wind God as reference, although he had made the operational ability stronger, and also improved the endurance of the mecha.

"We can go down now."

At this moment, Butcher walked out from inside. He had already confirmed his identity with base personnel, and allowed them to disembark.

At this moment, the elusive Kulifa appeared, although Qi Bin was still absent.

Wang Zheng sneaked a glance at Lie Xin. He wouldn't be still injured until now, would he? Or was the trauma psychological?

Lie Xin's gaze was apathetic. Clearly she was not too affected. Anyone trying to take advantage of her was a fool.

Leaving the shuttle, they saw a general hurrying over, accompanied by armed guards. On the other side, a specialized docker was unloading cargo from the shuttle. It looked like it had been going on for a while. Those belonging to his runic mecha was among them, although he did not know which crate.

"Professor Butcher, welcome to Good Gift base."

"General Bredt, thank you for your efforts."

Butcher smiled, and reached forward to grasp hands with General Bredt: "How are things with Professor Beko?"

"Presently, all good…"

Wang Zheng and the rest surveyed their surroundings. The bodyguards were all Gemini people shorter than 1.6m. Clearly, the base was a cooperation between Gemini Star and Roland Garros.

Once they entered the main research building, it was another layer of stringent safety checks before they could enter the core facility in the basement.

General Bredt stopped in front of the sealed doors. "This is as far as I escort you. I hope everything goes well."

"Roger that."

Butcher nodded towards Bredt, and went in with Wang Zheng in tow.

What greeted their eyes was a pristine, shining research hub. Numerous people in white lab coats were busily recording pages cluttered with research goals and mission details. Things were zooming around in the air. At each step of the pipeline, information exchange was occurring with a different researcher.

"Everyone, put your work aside for a moment. Let us welcome Professor Butcher."

Butcher's arrival immediately halted all operations across the research center.

And then there was thunderous applause.

"Professor Butcher, I'm the program in charge Siemen Kuang. So glad that you could make it in person. Our research is currently at a most crucial stage…"

Siemen Kuang immediately drew Butcher into the work details.

Everything here was of excellent quality, and Butcher nodded with satisfaction as he browsed through the research and experimental progress.

"Not bad at all. The tests on the Zerg' mental link strength – are they finished?"

"They're still ongoing. But the test results have already exceeded our predictions, and we are very optimistic."

On this note, Siemen Kuang threw a pointed look at Wang Zheng and the rest, as though enquiring about matters of secrecy.

"They're alright. They're here this time to conduct stress tests on the manmade abyss Zerg clones."

Chapter 913: Idol

Translator: Abyssruler, AtlasStudios Editor: Lucas, AtlasStudios

"As you wish. These are the numbers from a few experiments. Currently, it looks as if the high ranked abyss Zerg still cannot survive in a normal environment. But those which are two ranks lower have a 1% chance of surviving, and these can quickly adapt to the environment in a short timespan. Through dissection, we realized that their genetic sequence had begun to mutate. The flesh and cells automatically undergo fission to produce some acidic substance. This must be the reason they can continue to survive…"

"Have we tried artificially replicating this substance?"

"Presently, the experiments are ongoing. The difficulty of combinations is extreme, but we are thinking of ways to overcome it."

"Mm, well these problems can be left for the future. The most crucial thing now is the Zerg' mental control levels, and the final safety measures…"

As the discussion concluded, Butcher gathered everybody, and revealed the true purpose of this mission.

"As everyone has just heard, this research base is currently performing experiments to manufacture and control Zerg. But these are no normal stellar Zerg, but rather the abyss Zerg that you have faced in the school's simulation systems! Of course, they're of a much lower rank than the abyss soldier Zerg…" Butcher said solemnly.

Humankind was currently using genetic engineering to recreate abyss Zerg, and modify them. One goal was to find a weakness of the abyss Zerg. Another was to fight fire with fire, just like how different termite colonies would fight. Of course, all of the abyss Zerg had been fitted out with biological insurance. A biological grenade had been strapped to their crucial spots. At the first sign of trouble, they would be eradicated at the press of a button.

Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan exchanged looks. Both had thought of the same unpleasant matter at the same time.

Perhaps seeing the two's unease, "Are you worried about worms escaping and other such problems?"

Wang Zheng nodded. "Previously, we encountered similar problems. It was a regular Zerg training ground, but the worms concealed themselves…"

Siemen Kuang shook his head. "We would not make such elementary mistakes. Besides, we are growing abyss Zerg here. The entire base is severely guarded. Even a mosquito would have trouble getting access."

"Professor Siemen, let's leave the concrete details for later. This visit is also for the students to get a feel of things." Butcher said. This boy Wang Zheng was too forward as well.

"Everything has been prepared for you. If we can create a plan this time round, it would be a huge leap forward for biology!"

Siemen Kuang beamed. He was clearly happy that the research had made such breakthroughs. This was the program he supervised, after all. The research could possibly create a controllable abyss Zerg army, and also identify the super genetic sequence of the abyss Zerg that made them stand out from ordinary Zerg. What could the underlying cause be?

Without question, the time had come for biology to shine. This was also the impetus for the plan's beginnings. Of course, to gain military approval, it had to have a military reason, which was controlling the Zerg, and fighting Zerg with Zerg.

It had been killing two birds with a stone since then. The discovery of the super gene in the research was like discovering the nucleus. Humanity moved a step closer to the secrets of life.

Butcher definitely wanted to have an in-depth discussion with the research team. Wang Zheng and the rest were escorted by personnel to their temporary accommodations.

It had to be said, the hardware here was excellent. This program was under the Milky Way headquarters' direct supervision, watched by the military and sponsored by the large financial conglomerates. A heavy-duty project.

"Welcome, bright talents of the galaxy, to Gemini Star. I am Tamil, your service staff for everything on the base." Tamil smiled. She was about the same height as Ao Ziwei, but their maturity was different. Although Gemini Star girls were not tall, but they were very shapely. In business attire, only Gemini Star girls could be at once loli and mature beauty.

"I'm Zhang Shan. Pleased to meet you, beautiful. Can we come to you for any need?" Zhang Shan had been whipped to death by Wang Zheng's training, and since their arrival, things had been all sorts of boring. To suddenly find such a warm and inviting Gemini Star beauty had stirred the romance in his heart again.

Tamil smiled sweetly. "Of course, that's my job. Oh, right, besides those areas marked with a danger sign which are prohibited from access, every other area is open. The rooms have televisions which have live programs on the Zerg. That's a specialty of ours here, which no one else has."

Zhang Shan waved it off. "What's so interesting about that, I would rather find out more about Gemini Star…"

BAM

From one side, Lie Xin could not resist kicking somebody. "Miss Tamil, this rogue likes to shoot his mouth. Thank you."

"Lie Xin. You're looking beautiful. We Gemini Star girls can only dream of a figure like yours."

Lie Xin was a little embarrassed. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Don't you see all these rascals with their tongues hanging out over you?"

"Lie Xin, we both know the truth. Don't spread lies about me. Everybody loves beauty, and I am known for my sincerity, cuteness, and being an absolute gentleman." Zhang Shan said.

"Lie Xin, Tamil's words are true. I envy you. If only I could be as tall." Ao Ziwei said. Because they were familiar, Ao Ziwei was very direct. This was also a characteristic of Gemini Star people. Between friends, they rarely held back.

"That's enough from the two of you. Lie Xin is the type of girl who will swell up naturally. If you keep stoking her ego, she'll be able to fly soon." Zhang Shan could not resist poking some fun at her.

Lie Xin suddenly turned to Zhang Shan with all of her charm. "You mean I'm not attractive to you?"

A life of her bosom, and a shapely leg stepping forward. In an instant, Zhang Shan was swooning. This vixen was crazy. What was going on.

"Keke, you're not my type. I think Wang Zheng is more suited for you." Zhang Shan immediately booted the ball out of his court. Luckily Wang Zheng was around.

"Wang Zheng, I'm a fan." Tamil smiled, inclining her head and eyeing Wang Zheng. She revealed a creamy neck, decorated only with a simple silver chain. In the center nestled a pure pearl, which complemented the cuteness of Gemini Star girls.

"You are too kind." Wang Zheng said. Why would she be a fan of him.

"Not at all. We all watched the last match of the Greatest King contest. You beat Arbiter, that was incredible!"

Tamil's look towards Wang Zheng was also filled with interest. No girl could resist the attraction of the strong. This was an instinct. Especially those who were involved in the military, who especially favored the strong.

Wang Zheng rubbed his nose "Got lucky, is all."

Zhang Shan signed theatrically. "I can't come out with you anymore. You're affecting my heroic image."

They laughed. This time round, Wang Zheng had an additional task – to test his runic mecha, and also to nurture the abyss Zerg.

Although the runic mecha was specially made for the five of them, but it did not mean they could use it freely. They could only use it on missions. The preservation and maintenance costs were not insignificant, and it was not something that any place could do.

Chapter 914: Spiritual Feeling

Translator: Abyssruler, AtlasStudios Editor: Lucas, AtlasStudios

After resting for a day, everyone gathered except for Wang Zheng, Zhang Shan, and Lie Xin. Butcher had also brought two other students from Elite Academy X, a Gemini Star person called Luo Er, who majored in life composition and social relations… This surprised Wang Zheng and Zhang Shan. Who knew that such specializations existed at Elite Academy X? It sounded awesome, even the name sounded impressive.

The other was called Basais, from Lya Sphinx. He majored in energy mediums. It sounded quite unbelievable, like he was some spirit medium. He was also participating in this experiment.

"Wang Zheng, I'm your fan!" Luo Er immediately enthused. "Can you give me an autograph?"

Wang Zheng was surprised, and could only nod. Zhang Shan and Lie Xin held back their laughter, seeing Wang Zheng ill at ease in such situations. Wang Zheng still earnestly saw it as just a battle. Perhaps he was a little better, but the phrase "idol" was still a stranger to him. In truth, the Greatest King competition had earned him many fans.

Basais expressed agreement. "In recent years, Arbiter has been virtually undefeated in military competitions. For Saruman Snake Battle Team to beat Asura Battle Team is definitely a miracle. My peers back on Lya Sphinx would love to meet you too."

"Keke, please stop with the compliments. You'll make me forget my name."

"You young'uns should stop with the circlejerking. If you're that free, spend your flattery on me. You've got to respect your elders." Butcher joked. "Here, let me introduce you. Professor Beko, the leading research authority on the Zerg heredity."

Anyone that Butcher introduced so seriously must be of serious ability. They hastened to bow, and Beko smiled genially, propping up his spectacles. "Don't listen to that old geezer brag. Here, I'll bring you all in for a look. The last stage of this experiment needs your help."

Wang Zheng and the rest could sense that Professor Beko was someone immersed in the world of research. They had a good feeling about him.

They followed Beko to the second floor of the great hall. The lower floor was a sealed environment. Inside was a Zerg, in a very peaceful state.

Just by looking, this Zerg was undoubtedly the abyss type. Its color and heavy feel were all very formidable.

"This is one of our more successful creations, a low level abyss Zerg. A sickle Zerg; after numerous numerical and battle comparisons, it's basically at around 95% similarity." Beko introduced, signaling to the workers to begin a demonstration.

A robot was released into the room, but the Zerg did not move. The robot began attacking the Zerg, which was clearly roused, but it made no movement.

"At present, we have two commands. Stop, attack. Because it's an area command, there's no way to specify the attack target. But if you release this into the Zerg battlefield as the point troop, it's very useful."

Saying thus, Beko issued the attack command, and the Zerg promptly tore the robot to shreds. It was powerless against an abyss Zerg.

Butcher gasped in admiration as well. "Looks like your biological control system development has been extremely successful."

"The entire process has yielded many patents. But some are indeed very dangerous." Beko said.

Beko was a bit of a mad scientist, but not an oblivious one. The deeper the research went, the more he discovered that many of the technologies could not only be used on Zergs, but had more horrifying applications on humankind.

"Let's not worry about those. Relax: the alliance will definitely keep them under strict control. What's the next step?"

"Student Basais should begin. My only worry is the Zergs' innate connection. This is the aspect we're currently wrestling with. The communication between low rank Zergs is easy to explain, but how the mother Zerg executes long range commands is still a mystery." Beko said.

Basais was already raring to go. His Ability X was not easily explained, involving mental perception that excluded humans. But towards animals, especially plants, he had wonderful communicative abilities.

The Zerg was shut in a special room, encased in strengthened glass as a precaution. Although this Zerg was controlled, but there was still some natural fear when one went in.

Wang Zheng and the rest were less affected, but those who were not battle types were still a little worried. A cage rose from the ground to enclose the Zerg. Clearly the safety precautions were extremely thorough. After they filed in, the abyss Zerg was still very quiet.

Wang Zheng was scrutinizing this abyss Zerg. He was no stranger to the Zergs now. They had exchanged blows many times, even with higher ranked ones.

"Wang Zheng, what do you think?" Butcher asked. He was interested in Wang Zheng's judgement.

"This Zerg has virtually no wildness or killing intent. I feel that this Zerg will never beat a wild one in a 1v1." Wang Zheng said.

Beko chuckled. "We judged the same thing. But we will give it man-made equipment. In a battle, it will be equipped with heavy-duty explosives, which are definitely far superior to bomb Zerg."

They all nodded. This was impressive. Humanity's intellect was clearly unlimited. Many times, fighting smart meant that they would never have to sustain a full-frontal.

Basais slowly approached the Zerg, which was still very peaceful. Basais' courage grew, and looked at Beko. Beko nodded. "It's now in the calm state. As you saw, even if it sustains attacks, it will not retaliate."

Basais placed a hand on the Zerg. This strange feeling was something he had never experienced before. All he had touched previously were corpses, and this one was alive.

Basais closed his eyes, and waves of Ability X energy pulsed. Every living thing had life pulses. If one could attune these waves, one could learn many things.

This was his specialty and forte. Even a rock had its own pulse. The more complex the life form, the more complex the pulse, and the more difficult it was to feel. Although the life force of this Zerg was considerable, but the pulse was very simple, especially for a low-rank Zerg.

The Zerg's eyes moved, opening and swiveling towards Basais. Basais smiled in triumph. Got it!

Fine tuning his pulse, he could quickly understand the Zerg's situation… Pitch black… empty… waiting…

Such a controlled Zerg was not really a living thing, but more like a Zerg-type biological robot. It did not have any complicated feedback.

Basais felt it was rather meaningless as well. He thought he might be able to feel something different this time round, perhaps a stronger pulse from a live abyss Zerg. The strongest life forms, especially, left a deep impression on his mind. But this abyss Zerg was not even as strong as a normal Zerg.

Just as Basais was about to break the connection, a whisper emerged, as though a spark streaking through the darkness, gone in a flash.

But when he searched for it again, it had disappeared. After a long while, nothing new happened.

"Basais, anything unusual?"

Basais shook his head. "I can't tell. I could have sworn I felt something different for an instant, but it disappeared too quickly. Perhaps I'm tired from the long journey. I need to continue observing."

Beko smiled. "No rush. You all will be here for some time."

"Professor Beko, how many of such Zergs are there, and what is the highest rank achieved?" Wang Zheng asked.

Beko smiled. "That's a secret, my boy. Let's just focus on our respective tasks."

Wang Zheng shrugged grudgingly. From one side, Luo Er smiled. "To make a complete social structure, more than 100 Zergs are needed. At the same time, there must be some Zerg-commander level leaders, otherwise these Zergs will have no battle power to speak of.

Beko and Butcher looked at each other and laughed. These youngsters were not bad at all. But there were some things they could not speak of. Each organization had its own rules.

"Wang Zheng, Lie Xin, Zhang Shan, the three of you follow me. Luo Er, Basais, you two follow Professor Beko. This is a rare opportunity for practice."

"Yes, sir!"

This was definitely a rare chance to participate in such top-secret research. To Luo Er and Basais, the firsthand information was incomparably important.

Wang Zheng and the other two followed Butcher to the defense department of the research base. This place was in charge of the daily surveillance of the base. Of course, not far from the surface was stationed a squad of Gemini Star motorized unit. The squad was there to guarantee the safety of the experiment, especially since the Zergs belonged to a highly-dangerous classification.

Chapter 915: What is a Super Mech?

"Wang Zheng, look at the masterpiece we've made for you. We went through great pains in the process."

Even Butcher could not resist milking the moment. A black mecha drew their eye. It was a deep black that held just a gleam of light. It gave one a cold, murderous aura. The entire mecha's surface was covered in runes, like an Atlantean mecha, but even denser. Wang Zheng was also a mecha engineer himself, and had researched the runic mecha before. This mecha's runes were clearly different. The runes were even more closely packed, and the mecha was a shade larger than the average fighter mecha. The entire hull had an oppressive feel, as though proud and aloof, a snide, disdainful feel to it. Just sitting there, the mecha would exude pressure on the opponent.

Butcher was very satisfied that Wang Zheng and the rest were satisfied. He had truly expended much of his energy on it, but wished that the lad Wang Zheng would use it well to achieve great deeds in the future.

Zhang Shan's saliva was overflowing. He pounced over, fondling the mecha's surface. "D*mn, d*mn, dayumm! This feel is the best!"

Wang Zheng quickly pulled Zhang Shan away. "Your saliva, stop spraying my fighting partner with it!"

"D*mn, don't be like this. I'm just copping a feel, not like it's a girl!" Zhang Shan grumbled. D*mn, as a fighter, if he could not obtain one of these, his life would be meaningless.

Lie Xin's breath was taken away as well. They were all ace pilots. Lie Xin herself had used tens of mecha, but none could compare to the one in front of her.

Once one's physical skills and Ability X reached a certain level, a mecha's capabilities would become extremely deadly. Those like Wang Zheng and Olivios were examples. When the pilot's abilities exceeded the amount that the mecha could withstand, they were unable to fully exert themselves. And Olivios' mecha had crumbled first due to the difference in usage. Wang Zheng, as a mecha engineer, could sense a mecha's state. In battle, especially long battles, he was extremely conscious of this. Sometimes, he backed off not because of the opponent's attack, but because it was more efficient in preserving the mecha. And Olivios could not match him on this point. His considerations centered around fighting, and tended out of habit to use the strongest possible moves to suppress the opponent. After all, he was strong. But the mecha had not been up to it.

But if one had such a super mecha, it was a completely different story. This runic mecha could definitely withstand any operation from the pilot. This was the best mecha.

Of course, the cost of creating such a mecha could easily outfit a squad of 100 people. The cost was astronomical.

"Wang Zheng, you know the basics of using it. It's not too different from the Atlantean runic mechas. The key is that we've added material G. It doesn't affect Ability X usage, but you must take special care as to the distribution of ability. When using the runic energy, a huge drain appears. If you add on Ability X, it could easily be twice or thrice the usual strain. As to exactly how you must portion your energy, you'll get used to it once you train."

"Old Butcher, can I test it now?"

"Well, of course. Why else did you think I brought you over? Once you're familiar with it, we'll arrange for a fight with an abyss Zerg. Everyone's waiting to watch that. You better not darken the name of Elite Academy X." Butcher chuckled.

Wang Zheng was about to say something, but Zhang Shan interrupted him. "Don't worry. Even with a normal mecha Wang Zheng could finish off these stinky worms. D*mn, Wang Zheng, we're such close friends. You have to let me have a go later."

Butcher laughed. "A runic mecha is customized, and you cannot use it. Unless Wang Zheng no longer uses it. Then we'll change the starting sequence."

Elite Academy X took the security of these runic mechas very seriously. Such super weapons could not be fooled around with.

Zhang Shan had a deep look of envy. D*mn, looked like it would take hard work to get one for himself. He vowed to make it his life goal to do so.

Lie Xin was thinking the same thing. She had not imagined that a runic mecha would be this different. But that showdown's fight had indeed been intense.

Wang Zheng walked beside the mecha, switching on his Skylink signal. The mecha promptly lit up, and the runes charged with energy. The translucent hull door shot out a beam of light which enshrouded Wang Zheng. The cockpit door revolved inwards, bringing Wang Zheng in, and sealing in an instant.

Zhang Shan was dissatisfied. "Old Butcher, must you be so advanced. You've robbed my life of meaning, to put so much gimmick even in the cockpit door.

F*ck, so much technology just on the door. D*mn, how would the other pilots feel, having to crawl into their own cockpits?

Butcher laughed. "Super soldiers must be received like super soldiers. Don't blab now. You work hard, and fight for your own in the future."

"Ah! There's still a chance?"

"But of course. As the runic technology matures, it will definitely spread among super soldiers. Within the Saruman Snake Battle Team, your agility is the best, and your reaction to danger is also excellent. Just that your body is far from sufficient as a super soldier. Given your present condition, if you used this mecha at full capability, you'd collapse within 5 minutes." Butcher said.

Zhang Shan blushed. How embarrassing, for his own weaknesses to be called out even by an outsider. He could not help being the weak spot on Saruman Snake Battle Team. Although his intellect had helped him to turn the tables time after time, but the problem still existed. And intellect was not a cure-all. But to improve his physical condition could only improve so fast. It was not for a lack of effort, but he could not shake off the feeling that he was not improving. Wang Zheng could take him out with 1 punch, and not need a second.

Lie Xin was already fully concentrating on the mecha. BOOM…

The mecha floated.

Zhang Shan's jaw dropped. "Levitating body?"

Lie Xin stared at Zhang Shan like he was an idiot. "You don't say? What's important is how well it holds up in mid-air battles."

"Keke, runic mechas use the latest energy technology, and can support complete battles in the air, including space situations. But the air battles and space conditions require the pilot to adjust. Compared to specialized ground-based mechas, the mecha's innate adaptability pales a little." Butcher said.

In truth, this was already pretty game-changing. The rougher the terrain one had to travel, the more complicated it was, and the capability would definitely suffer. Increased piloting difficulty was a given, otherwise it would not be a mecha for a super soldier.

Lie Xin's heart was burning as well. Blazing, and she did not know why. Recently, it was difficult for her to keep her emotions in check. Even she had realized that she was prone to rage recently… Agitated. Could she really be thinking about men?

What was this!

Wang Zheng did not immediately take off. He was feeling and savoring it. This… it was really too awesome a feeling. Wang Zheng could not resist swearing. This mecha's interior used the purest material G. It was incomparable!

Chapter 916: Outburst

Translator: Abyssruler, AtlasStudios Editor: Lucas, AtlasStudios

Hum…

The runic mecha took flight. Wang Zheng was very good at using the Atlantean mechas. This also meant that his mental energy was strong enough.

Mental energy and Ability X seemed to be one and the same, but in truth, humanity was good at Ability X, but not so much in the finer details of mental energy control. Similarly, the Atlanteans were better at the fine control of mental energy, producing strength through their runes, but never involved themselves with Ability X. Each had its own strengths and weaknesses. Wang Zheng was a prodigy. In his usage, he could compartmentalize mental energy and Ability X. Such a phenomenon existed among humans, but was extremely rare. Simply being able to use both powers was in itself already a rarity.

That was why this model of runic mecha could be said to have been made only for Wang Zheng's body. It gave ample consideration to his abilities, with enough depth for him to bring forth his potential.

The runic mecha took flight soundlessly and lightly. This was indeed in the style of Atlantis. Wang Zheng let the mecha hover in mid-air, and then landed, and then floated again. He worked through some basic movements, at times lightly, and at times violently. He needed to know the explosiveness and torque. Numbers were just numbers. A pilot had to personally experience it to know where the limit was.

This feeling was indescribable!

Hum…

Red flames flowed through the runes like blood. The mecha suddenly blazed with fire, and then the fire was extinguished in an instant. A layer of frost shielded the mecha's surface, but this ice energy seemed alive. In the next instant, a gust of wind dispersed the ice.

Shing..

From the shoulder, a shoulder-guard box sprung open, and began to rotate at high speed.

Zhang Shan spluttered. Wasn't this Golden Wheel Battle King's weapon???

This golden wheel… the black wheel was a size smaller, and also inscribed with runes.

"Wang Zheng, we considered the use of the Golden Wheel Battle King, which is why we added this latest runic wheel. But you have to confirm its effectiveness." Butcher smiled.

Anyone who had seen Wang Zheng use the Golden Wheel Battle King would be captivated immediately. Butcher dearly wanted to know how far Wang Zheng could take it, if the mecha body's mobility was higher, and the attack power stronger.

And after the runes had stimulated it, the Ability X's effectiveness was multiplied. It was no longer just a trick of vision, but could preserve the effects of Ability X to the highest degree.

"Equipped with two beam sabers, energy charged. These are the newest in the Milky Way. They're still in beta." Butcher said.

Wang Zheng looked at the two beam sabers in his hands. The balance, the feel, he was drunk on the feeling.

By now, Zhang Shan was already rendered speechless. He exchanged looks with Lie Xin. Even people as calm as them were beginning to grow intensely jealous. This was indeed a provocation that no pilot could resist.

Wang Zheng closed his eyes, and the power filled his body. A strong wave of battle lust rose uncontrollably.

"Old Butcher, can I fight right now?" Wang Zheng asked.

Butcher was taken aback. "Don't you need to familiarize yourself?"

Youths were too excitable. Even he thought this was a rare masterpiece, let alone Wang Zheng.

"It's alright. Battle is the best way to test things."

"Haha, fine. I'll tell Beko immediately."

Very quickly, Beko arrived with Luo Er and Basais in tow. "Wang Zheng, it's all ready. This is an abyss Zerg, and not the normal type."

Beko still had his doubts. Abyss varieties were completely different from the usual thing. And this was their first appearance in this world. This boy…

"Haha, it'll be fine. Wang Zheng is one of our most excellent students. Fighting one is not a problem at all." Butcher declared. He had the utmost confidence in Wang Zheng's ability. After all, Wang Zheng had been to the abyss before.

Luo Er and Basais were very excited as well. The robot's battle power had not been able to bring forth the abyss Zerg's true ferocity. But Wang Zheng would be a different story. Wang Zheng was unquestionably a representative of Elite Academy X's highest standard. Paired with a runic mecha, this would be a true test of the abyss Zerg's abilities.

From the ground rose a cage, with an abyss sickle Zerg quietly awaiting.

"Professor Beko, bring on two more." Wang Zheng said.

Was the lad crazy?

One abyss Zerg's battle power was already equivalent to an elite squad.

"Keke, student Wang Zheng, don't be hasty. Just one will be enough to test things." Beko said.

Butcher could feel the power in Wang Zheng's voice. "Beko, just one more."

"You sure?" Beko asked.

Butcher smiled and nodded. If it was any normal mecha it would be a different story. But this was a runic mecha. If the strongest soldier paired with the best mecha could not even defeat two Zerg, then it could not be counted as a success.

Another cage rose. Beko hesitated, but then opened the cage. If any danger arose, he could force a stop.

Attack command given!

Shing…

The two docile Zergs suddenly became berserk. Their claws extended, and rushed towards the runic mecha simultaneously.

In the instant that the Zerg rushed him, Wang Zheng's battle fire had been lit as well. The runic mecha faced the two approaching Zergs.

ROAR~~

two beam sabers sprouted flames. Shing…

The runic mecha shot by. The two enraged Zergs had stopped, unmoving.

In the next moment, the two Zergs were still not moving, but… they did not seem to be hurt.

BOOM RUMBLE…

The two Zerg hit the floor. Fire began to spurt from the Zerg' mouths. In the next instant, their stomachs caught fire as well.

Two abyss Zergs had been finished in one move.

Wang Zheng sat in the mecha. He profoundly felt the limits of this attack. It was something that no other mecha could achieve. It was almost one with his own reaction time. In the instant of clashing, his two beam sabers had plunged between the Zerg' fangs, his Ability X pouring out. There was virtually no delay. This was completely unimaginable with previous mecha. No matter how excellent the operation was, the mecha needed reaction time. But the runic mecha's quality was different. Its mechanisms were different. To think it could reduce the delay to this extent.

Humanity had done it. It was almost as though the Atlantean runic technology had been completely replicated. But humankind would not simply be satisfied with mimicry. They would improve it!

Stronger!

The first time, Wang Zheng felt hope!

Humanity was truly great. Perhaps they could really triumph over the abyss Zergs!

Always getting stronger – this was humanity!

As a fighter, he would never move backwards. Because if he did, that meant the rest would have nowhere to go.

Beko's jaw dropped. This… was like seeing a ghost. What kind of monster was this? Although he knew that the runic mecha was a new brand of mecha, but to make mince meat of them, this was too…

"If General Bredt saw this, he might lose his mind." Beko forced a laugh. This gap was a little too ridiculous.

Although Elite Academy X was where the elites of humanity were pooled to build the core of humanity's strength, but their reputation was nothing like the reality. Seeing was way better than hearsay.

Wang Zheng came out from the runic mecha. He was still mesmerized in a dreamlike state. He was not just a fighter, but also an engineer. He understood the mecha on a deeper level.

"Wang Zheng, are you alright? How do you feel?" Butcher asked with concern. This mecha was good at everything, but took a big drain out of the pilot.

Seeing Wang Zheng unresponsive, they started to worry. Suddenly, Wang Zheng smiled a brilliant smile. "Butcher, it's the first time I've felt so good. We definitely can conquer the abyss!"

Butcher smiled as well. The effort and sacrifice of countless people were not simply for defense. It was to struggle against life itself. Humanity was born to conquer!

"I'm gunning for it too! If there's another chance I'll definitely go for it. I want my own super fighter too!" Zhang Shan bawled. This was too unbalanced. How could such a good mecha exist?

"Wang Zheng, give your mecha a name. I'll get the engineers to carve it on."

"Conqueror, let it be called Conqueror!"

Wang Zheng said. The moment he had entered the cockpit, he knew the power of this mecha.

"A good name. Very well, I'll get the engineers to check the work situation." Butcher smiled.

Ao Ziwei had come as well, just in time for the last scene. She was gasping in astonishment as well. She had come this time to accomplish a mission as well. The main thing was her unique Ability X. Something so close to an absolute defense was sometimes very useful.

The last IG, Wang Zheng's performance had left jaws dropping. It could be said that his existence shook up the status quo, although many still thought it was just chaos.
