Chapter 41: Saved by The Bell

"I believe this is the first time that we've met." Audrey said wondering if they really have met before. She was so sure that they haven't met. But now that she's being asked such a question, it made her question herself if they really haven't because losing her memory isn't doing her any good at times like this.

The names of the people that she needed to remember where being told to her already way before by her brother but she can't remember him telling her a name or something about a guy who currently looked like at loss for losing a game of chess with her.

"Are you sure?" He then took his phone out his pocket and browsed on his gallery and showed Audrey a photo and said, "You look exactly like her."

When Audrey looked at it all she could say was, "What?"

"I was surprised too but you seriously look like her. I have more photos of her. Here, take a look." Mike showed a couple more of photos which only made Audrey more confused and terrified to know that this guy in front of him is some type of maniac.

The photos that were being shown were a photo of a celebrity who is very well known to be a gravure idol. She's also convinced that she doesn't look Japanese at all nor a little. The girl itself was pretty but the photos that were currently being shown to her right now is not pretty anymore. These stuffs should be censored.

"I don't think I look like her at all."

"You're not convinced? I have a few more albums here that I can show you."

"I don't think that's a good idea."

"I have more here."

Audrey finished her cake fast as she thinks of a way on how to excuse herself from this creepy guy. She didn't really expect that she'll be seeing such photos especially from a person who she just met! She now wishes that someone will just call on her phone and she'll then use it as a valid excuse to leave the area.

It seemed as if an angel heard her plea and answered her prayers. Her phone is now ringing. The moment she heard her phone ring she almost felt a heavy burden has been lifted up high that made her sigh with huge relief.

She then told Mike, "Oh sorry. I needed to go. My boyfriend is calling me."

"You have a boyfriend?" He looked surprised.

"Yes."

Audrey didn't care who it was. She then abruptly answered her phone and said, "Babe, sorry for not answering your messages earlier." She then stood up and started leaving.

"Uh Babe?" It's Tiffany.

"I'm playing chess earlier and I won."

"That's nice. I'm not good at chess myself so I think you've won to me by default. Haha."

"Hmm? You wanted me to come over?"

"Well, sure. I'm in Bali right now."

"What? Right now?"

"What I mean is…ohh I get it now. You better explain things to me later." She knew then that something is going on.

"Haha sure. I miss you."

"Yeah yeah. I do miss you too. Now, leave before the person you're trying to avoid follows you."

Audrey went home and messaged Kylie that she had already left and that she didn't warn her anything about Mike at all. She then immediately called Tiffany and explained what had happened. It also surprised her as expected. Who would not be surprised if you were being shown by such?

"Oh my gosh where you alright? He didn't even try to touch you right?"

"I'm fine. If he tried laying a finger on me, I'll use one of the self defense techniques that my brother taught me."

"Even so, that's still creepy. I can only imagine what those photos looks like but by the fact that it was way too revealing is not good already. It's really good that I called."

"It really is! Gosh thank you for your call. You're a life saver!"

"You're welcome. By the way I called to ask an update between you and Aiden."

She was trying her hardest to forget about him even for a single hour but there goes her preoccupied mind again thinking more about him. She then went on her room fearing that Levi might overhear their conversation.

"Please don't mention that name to me."

"OMG?! What happened???"

"It's so hard to explain through call but long story short, it's my fault."

"It can't be your fault. Why should it be your fault?"

"He left."

"What do you mean by he left? Did he dump you?!"

"I don't know. It's not that I confessed or anything like that. It's just that I think I pushed him away too much."

"This is messed up. I'm not going to know what really happened if you keep on telling me little details on how you are sulking right now."

"Sorry. I guess I am the one who is currently messed up right now."

"It reminds me, I heard that he's currently in the states right now. I heard from one of my colleagues."

"States? You mean US?"

"Yes. You don't mean that he left without telling you where he'll be going?"

"Yeah…"

"That Aiden! What is wrong with him?! Anyways, I'm still not sure if what I heard is true. I'm rooting for the two of you and this is what happened when I was away?"

"Did you hear anything more? I've been trying to contact him but I can't seem to get through."

"I'm not sure if you wanted to hear it though." Tiffany wanted to lie if Audrey wanted to know what she really heard. She's already went to such heartbreak but she knows that once she lies and Audrey found out about it, it would surely be double the impact on her.

"Tell me. Whatever it is I'm prepared."

She hesitated before speaking but then continued and said, "Well it was said that he met someone there. I don't know if it's a family or a friend or what but it was a girl. That's what I heard."

Audrey was left speechless.

Whether what Tiffany heard is right or wrong, just hearing that he met a girl abroad is making her heart quench as if suffocating her. She wasn't really prepared to hear something like that. She was afraid that something like this might happen and it did.

She already knew that he's out of her reach but it pains her to think that the distance that she thought she really needed to sort her feelings out is making her more aware that she's slowly falling for someone that she should really have not. He's not just out of reach, he's simple impossible to reach.

Absence does make the heart grow fonder but sometimes it makes your faith grow weaker.
