Seeing Bulbasaur's almost perfect IV's the two boys jumped and stared intently at Professor Oak. "Damn and I thought Tom's Charmander was OP... My Bulbasaur has even better IV's along with the perfect nature! Though it would still lose in a fight against his Charmander." Ash thought to himself

Gary's View-
"Sh*t! Kevin's Bulbasaur is almost perfect! Not only did gramps used to be the Champion, he can also breed such great Pokemon!! Also I know that Kevin is the main character.. but this plot armour is real, though my Charmander will still beat him. It's not like I'm Ash from the original series where his Ash Greninja lost to Alan's Mega Charizard X. He had type and speed advantage but he still lost, quite disappointing if I were to say." Gary thought

Ash's View-
The two boys then looked at the final Pokeball and said in unison to Professor Oak "Professor! (Gramps!) Can you show us the Squirtle?"
The startled Professor Oak jumped and said "Alright! You scared me,I'm old you know!" as he grabbed the final Pokeball and a Squirtle appeared from inside it. "Squir, Squir" it cried. The two then looked at it's stats-

Seeing it's stats, Ash thought to himself "Huh? Isn't this Squirtle from the same batch as my Bulbasaur and Tom's Charmander? Besides it's Hp and SpD thats at 31 it's not that good. Though it's much better than the average wild Squirtle, the professor probably didn't breed this one well enough and he mixed a good one with another batch."
After sending the Squirtle back into it's Pokeball, Gary suggested for the two to have a Pokemon battle. Sweating profusely, Professor Oak said "Alright, but not in here.." as he began to walk towards the door

The trio then appeared on a small field made by Professor Oak for Pokemon battles, Gary and Ash then walked to the ends of the field and faced each other across the field. The two then sent out their Pokemon at the same time as Professor Oak held a flag in his right hand and signaled for the battle to begin. "Ready?! Fight!" Professor Oak shouted
"Alright! Let's do this Ash!" Gary shouted as he commanded Charmander to sprint. "Our journey begins from today Gary! Go Bulbasaur use Tackle!" Ash shouted in response
"Quick dodge and use Scratch!" Gary shouted, "Bulbasaur jump above him and use Tackle then drop and use Tackle again!" Ash shouted. "Oh no you don't! Charmander use Scratch above you!" Gary shouted. Bang!* The two Pokemon's attacks collided creating a small spark
"That one attack left Bulbasaur with 13 Hp left, let's check Tom's Charmander. Hmm 15 Hp, as expected. There's no way a Bulbasaur can do a lot of damage to a Charmander, especially at the beginning when IV's and nature don't matter." Ash thought as he shouted at Bulbasaur to use Tackle

"His tough alright! As expected from my rival, My Charmander has the advantage even at the start since both of us only have physical moves which my Charmander excels at with it's high Atk. Though it did a bit more damage than I thouht, considering Kevin's Bulbasaur has high Defense that's equal to my Charmander's Atk." Gary thought
"Anyways it's time to focus on the battle, Charmander jump and use Scratch whilst spinning!" he shouted

"Bulbasaur! Roll backwards a few steps then use Tackle whilst rolling on the ground! Then jump into the air and get away from it!" Ash shouted
"Clever move buddy! Charmander go for it!" Gary replied
Boom! The collision from both Pokemon rotating at high speeds caused the wind to blow a screen of dust around the field. Cough* Cough* Professor Oak coughed and said with praise whilst rubbing his eyes "You youngsters are creative! Even I have never seen such a way of battling in my many years of life, the two of you will be great trainers one day and will one day surpass even me!"
The two boys then continued their battle until Ash's Bulbasuar could no longer compete with Gary's Charmander. "Winner, Gary Oak and Charmander!" Professor Oak shouted whilst raising the flag then swung it down to conclude the battle
Gary said to Charmander as it turned around "Great job Charmander!" as he returned it to it's Pokeball. On the other side of the field, Ash said to his defeated Bulbasaur "Don't be upset, you put up a good fight!" as he returned it into it's Pokeball
The two then walked up to each other and shook hands before going back into Professor Oak's lab to heal their Pokemon

Inside the lab, whilst Gary and Ash stood inside the lab and waited for Professor Oak to return, they faced each other and spoke. "Well, our journey to greatness will begin from here on. In the blink of an eye it's already been 10 years since that day. The next time I see you, we will battle once again." Gary said to Ash
"Of course, this time I'll win though." Ash replied
Professor Oak then appeared holding a red device in each hand and said to the boys "This device here is called a Pokedex, it contains my life's work inside it. It's a special device that records every Pokemon you encounter inside it automatically and some data on them. Now I give the two of you a Pokedex each as you explore the Kanto Region and become great trainers!"
The boys then took the Pokedex and put it inside their bags, "Oh right here are 5 Pokeballs for both of you, remember you can only carry 6 Pokemon at a time. The other pokemon will automatically appear inside your Personal Computer if caught when your party is full" Professor Oak continued
"We know! Thanks Professor (Gramps!)" The two boys said as they put the shrunken pokeballs onto the belts around their waist. "Hopefully the next time I see you two, your Pokedex will be complete and one of you may even be the Kanto Region Champion!" Professor Oak said
"Anyways, off you go now! I need to give the other kids their Pokemon too!" Professor Oak continued
"Hold on gramps, if I remember correctly you had two more Pokemon you didn't plan on giving out because they were troublesome. I think the two of us can handle it no problems!" Gary said
"Ah! Those two?! I don't know if you will really be able to handle them..." Professor Oak said. After contemplating for a bit, Professor Oak said "Alright, considering your battle just before, I'll give you two an extra Pokemon. Just don't tell the others!" As he went away to transfer the Pokemon
"Troublesome Pokemon? Don't tell me...." Ash asked puzzled. "That's right, it's those two. I didn't think he'd really give them to us though." Gary replied
After a while, Professor Oak came back with two Pokeballs, one in each hand
