Coffee

After Mike left the room, Alena's parents came in. They had at last found out the real reason behind Alena's hatred towards them. Mr. Harry had explained the situation to them somehow. This time they both looked sad and regretted their decisions in the past.

Alena noticed their expression the moment they had entered. She didn't speak anything. Alena's mother hugged her and started crying. She apologised to her a thousand times. Alena patted her mother on the back and smiled.

"It's..it's alright guys. I mean...I cannot say I wasn't mad at that time but... let this just be how it is...it's all in past... even the person is gone now.." Alena said.

After 2 weeks

Alena's injuries had healed quite nicely and was discharged from the hospital. On a nice Sunday morning, her breakfast was done earlier than her regular expected time. She had not seen Mike or the team in those two weeks. The first thing that came to her after her breakfast was to make a trip to base house.

After a while, base house.

As soon as Alena went to base house as an unexpected surprise, the girls were happy to see her all good. Ally & Sabrina welcomed her with a tight hug. As for guys, they too were happy and welcomed her formally. Alena found something or should I say someone missing?

"Sam, where is Mike?" Alena asked.

"Ah, he went to a solo mission. Mr. Harry told him about the mission yesterday and he left the base house for flight half an hour ago." Sam said as he looked at his wrist watch.

"Hmm...there is still three hours for his flight...as usual he has left a little early." Austin said.

Hearing the words coming out from Sam & Austin, Alena felt sad.

"How..long is a solo mission?" Alena asked.

"Well depends upon person...some can do it in a month while some may take a year." Sam said as he shrugged his shoulders.

"Some may not even return." Sam said with a serious expression.

"Tell me the airport and flight, also can I borrow your car Sam?" Alena asked.

Sam & Austin looked at each other in amazement. Why is Alena asking about Mike's flight details?

"Don't ask why I'm asking..just tell me!" Alena said in a slight irritated tone before they could ask any questions.

"Country I national airport, flight J927." Sam said in fear.

"Okay great!" Alena said as she took Sam's car keys and left the base house.

"The airport itself is 45 mins away from base house. Oh well...it's time to get the Formula 1 racer spirits up high." Alena thought as she looked at her wrist watch. Without much hesitation Alena pushed on the accrerelator and drove the car at its highest speed possible.

After 15 minutes, Country I national airport.

Alena entered the airport as if she has to win some marathon. With her eyes finding Mike everywhere, at last she found him.

Mike was sitting at the waiting area, reading some book. He was wearing a black hoodie and black jeans. Looking from afar, he looked as if he is some kind of big actor who should be surrounded by thousands of his fan girls.

Alena had a smile on her face, she walked towards him slowly as to catch her breath. She sat beside him, for 2 minutes Mike was so engrossed in his book that he didn't feel her presence at all.

"AAH! Oh..it's you...god you almost scared me...how long have you been sitting beside me?" Mike asked as he calmed his heart beat.

"2 minutes." Alena said as she straight looked into his eyes.

"Oh..." Mike said as he closed his book and put it into the bag.

"So...why are you here?" He asked.

In all the haste of coming to the airport before time, Alena had not thought of an answer for this question though she had seen it coming.

"Ahh..that..."

To be honest, Alena herself didn't know why she rushed to the airport the moment she heard the news of Mike going away. She had no idea about why she did all this.

"God...why am I feeling like one of those female characters from Ally's dumb romance novels... why are words not coming out...to be very very honest why am I even here?!" Alena thought to herself.

She looked a little bit around and found a place where coffee could be bought. She stood up and said "Ahh...airport coffee are super good! You want some?"

"Ah..sure?" Mike said.

Without any delay Alena ran toward the counter and asked for two coffees.

"Just for coffee...you travelled 45 min of distance?" Mike thought.

It looked senseless to Mike, and not just Mike it would look senseless to anyone to travel 45 mins just for a mere coffee.

After a while, Alena came back to him with his coffee and sat beside him.

"So you actually just came here for a coffee?" Mike asked to confirm.

"Mhm-mm." Alena said as she looked at the other way.

"Okay..." Mike said with a weird expression.

Alena could not look directly at Mike because of two reasons. One reason was that she had given a really stupid reason to him to come at the airport. Second was her new feeling that she didn't knew existed in her.

For the next 3 hours, Alena & Mike drank the coffee and stayed in that awkward silence but the interesting thing was that none of them was really bothered by the awkward silence rather they were enjoying it.

But after 3 hours, the time came which Alena didn't wanted to come at all. An announcement was heard on the airport.

"Flight J927 to Country M is ready to board, passengers are requested to be ready with their boarding pass and identification. Thank you." The attendant announced.

Hearing this announcement Mike got up from his seat and started walking towards checking area. Alena was not allowed there of course. All she could do was just look at him boarding the plane. But was coming to the airport using all her might just for this?

Alena clenched her fist and finally let some words out of her mouth. With all her might she shouted "MIKE! MIKE! STOP!"

Though Mike was about to complete his checking and other formalities and get on the plane but he heard the faint sound of someone shouting his name. "Ah sir, can you please give me a minute...I need to go."

"Sir, the plane is about to take off." The employee said.

"Don't-don't worry I'll be on time. Why don't you check other passengers until then?!" Mike said and ran towards the entrance of the checking area.

Alena on the other hand now just waited for the plane to take off, she regretted her being silent and not saying for what she had come all the way to the airport.

"What happened?" Mike asked as he took heavy breaths because of the running.

Alena looked at him, her eyes somehow got filled with water. She herself didn't know why all this was happening to her.

"Why..are you crying?" Mike asked as he took a step close towards her to wipe her tears.

"Mike...I need to say something.." Alena said with her head down.

"Yeah?" Mike asked.

"I..."

"Important announcement. Passenger named Mike. D Angelo on Flight J927 to Country M is requested to go to gate 3 immediately." The attendant said.

"Alena...fast!" Mike said.

"I...."

"Come on Alena!"

"Can I hug you?!" Alena said with her head down.

At this point even she didn't know what the hell was she even saying?

"You.." Mike didn't really bother to complete his sentence but just grabbed Alena from her waist and pulled her towards him.

Mike didn't hug him as if he has to hug her or if he is angry. He hugged her with the same warmth and embrace from last time. The only difference between this hug and that hug was that, this time Alena hugged him back and took the warmth as much as she could.

"Final announcement, Flight J927 to Country M is about to take off in 3 minutes. We request the passenger Mike. D Angelo to go to gate 3 immediately." The attendant announced.

While ending the hug Mike lifted Alena's head up and said "I..have to go now....take care of yourself, okay?"

"Okay.." Alena said.

After this, Mike ran to the gate 3 and finally got on the plane.

Alena's face had turned red looking like a tomato. But Alena didn't really care about that. She had a smile on her face, with that smile she saw the plane taking off and saw it going further and further to the point when she couldn't see the plane.

After this, Alena left the air port and drove back to the base house. This time, she drove slowly.

On the other hand, Mike was not in very different condition from Alena. Just like Alena, right now Mike was confused of the whole situation and his feelings right now.

What the hell was happening to these two? The people who hated each other were now experiencing the feelings that they were not sure of themselves? Is this what people like to call love?

Mike was unable to understand just why he didn't made Alena go? Doesn't he get irritated from her?

Mike kept his right hand on his left side of the chest. His heart beat was fast than ever.

"What's happening..? This fast heart beat and..the sadness that I felt when I saw her tears...god...this can't be what I'm thinking..right? Yeah..it can't be...I mean..Alena doesn't believe in love so...its pointless for me to feel love towards her too...oof...I guess I should just read my book. Yeah! That's right...you are free that's why you are having these weird thoughts." Mike thought to himself and searched his bag for the book which he was reading earlier.

Base house.

"What the hell did you do to my car?" Sam asked as he saw his car which was shining like a brand new car when he gave it but right now, in front of him stood a really dusty car.

"Ah..its..because of the fast driving I guess?" Alena said.

"Why did you drive so fast..?" Sam asked.

"I'm sorry Sam...how about I drive it to the car wash and pay it too?" Alena asked.

"I'll drive. But, you surely will pay." Sam said as he got into the car.
