Chapter 9

THE NEXT DAY.

Anna couldn't help but to wake up early as her phone was ringing nonstop, she was wondering who would be calling her but she soon got her answer because as soon as she picked her phone up she saw from the caller ID that it was none other than her mother.

"Hi mom." Anna says as soon as she answers the call.

"Annie darling, how are you?" Her mom says, sounding excited.

She pauses as she gives her child time to respond.

"I'm fine mom. What about you and how is dad?" She says as she yawns and stretches.

"We are both fine dear but it has come to my attention that you went out with a certain eligible bachelor last night and you didn't even tell me." Her mother says, sounding hurt.

"I heard it from Ms Wenslow, who heard it from Hannah, her daughter who was out with her fiancé last night, that she saw you and Dean Marshall walking into the VIP room of the restaurant and that they were sure that you two had begun dating." She says all too ecstatic about the news.

"I told you you'd like him, you see a mother always knows best, if you ever listened to me you would realize that I am right most of the time and yes I am really happy about this news but I am very disappointed that you couldn't even tell me that you went out with him. Aren't I your mother dear?." Her mother says, sounding hurt.

"We are supposed to tell each other everything, especially when it's wonderful news like this one, now when should I start planning the wedding." Her mother laughs trying to seem like she was joking but Anna knew all too well that she wasn't, heck if it was up to her they would have already been married with five kids and she'd deem it on herself to name them too.

"Mom, calm down, it was just one date." Anna says as she rolls her eyes mentally.

"Besides it was last minute, we were just supposed to hang out and then before you know it, it became a date and I just woke up because I am tired and…."

"Did you guys?" Anna's mom interrupts her daughter while she brims with excitement.

"God no mum, why would you think that?" Anna says annoyed.

"The date was in the evening, we got to know each other and we talked, which took longer than we thought it would hence by the time he brought me home it was already around 3am which is why I told you I was tired."

"Oh, is he there with you though." Her mom says with a smile. "Seeing as it was already late, you wouldn't want him driving around at that time. What if he got in an accident?" Her mother says sounding worried but still hoping that her daughter would let Dean stay the night in her house and she wouldn't have had a problem if it had been at one of the other rooms, it didn't necessarily have to be Anna's room, as long as they had more time to talk and get to know each other she was sure a wedding would happen in the near future.

"No mom, he went home as soon as he dropped me off." Anna says and with all that her mom's dream started crashing down.

"The date was nice and all but I keep feeling like I am just not quite ready to move on from Dustin yet, yes Dean is nice, patient ,kind, funny and sweet but my heart still belongs to Dustin." Anna says with a sigh.

"Oh to hell with Dustin Anna he died three years ago he was useless , he didn't deserve you, you were too good for him and frankly you know what, I am glad he died cause now it gives you an opportunity to move on to someone way more up to standards. I know you loved him but this is getting on my nerves, Dustin isn't coming back and the sooner you get that the soone…." Before Anna knew it she had cut the call on her mother, yes she loved her mom, yes she respected her and everything but she had drawn the line, she knew all too well how Anna had felt about Dustin and for her to say all these things about him, she was not only disrespecting Dustin and her whom was his wife but she was disrespecting her love for him and she wouldn't allow anyone disrespect the love she had for Dustin, even if that person happened to be her own mother.

Anna had become too annoyed that she decided that the best thing to do was to have a bath to cool herself down, she'd have to calm herself in order to be able to go on with her day, her mom had pissed her off and she didn't want to take it out on anyone but before she knew it her phone had started ringing again, seeing as she already had a call with her mother she assumed it was her hence making her cut the call but the person didn't seem to stop and with anger coarsening through her veins she soon decided to pick up the call.

"What?" She spits out with disdain, without knowing who she was on the call with and assuming it had been her mother.

"Well good morning to you too sweetheart." Dean says as he chuckles.

"I'm guessing you're not a morning person." He says while still laughing.

"Oh I'm sorry I thought you were my mom." She says trying to calm herself down.

"I guess I've been mistaken for worse." He says with a light chuckle.

"Well I just called to check up on you."

"Thank you, that's very sweet of you." She says as a smile forms on her face but is soon replaced with an eye roll as soon as she hears what he says next.

"Not as sweet as I'm sure you'd taste Garcia." He says as he smirks.

"Are you smirking?" She asks as she gets off of her bed and walks towards her wardrobe in search of what to wear for the day.

"How'd you know Annie dear?" He says in a squeamish high pitched lady like tone trying to mimic her moms voice.

Which Anna couldn't help but laugh at.

"Haha very funny mom." She says as she rolls her eyes as she let some chuckles seep out.

"I could sense the smirk on your face a mile away." She says as she finally decides on an outfit.

"Okay Garcia whatever you say, all that aside I was wondering if you would be free to go out today."

"We literally had a date yesterday which ended early this morning, I think I've seen enough of you to last me a lifetime Marshall." She says smirking as she uses his name like he always did to her.

"Touché Garcia, touché." He says not being able to help himself from laughing at her lifetime joke. "But I am serious, it doesn't have to be a date, we could just grab coffee this time and enjoy each other's company."

"Aren't you some big business dude? Shouldn't you be working or having meetings or stuff?" Anna says as she walks into her bathroom to get her bath water ready.

"Yes I am some big business dude?" He says with a smile.

"And being a big business dude also know as the boss, I have underlings who are capable of doing their job without me needing to be there, hence giving me a whole lot of free time making it easier for me to be able to go out with a beautiful woman such as yourself and the best part being I'd hardly be too busy to attend to your daily needs and also your sexual needs." He says as another smirk forms on his face.

"Ugh grow up Dean." She says as she makes gagging sounds trying to sound like she's throwing up.

"I'd rather kiss a pig." She says as she puts on the tap so water can run into the bathtub.

"No you wouldn't baby because we both know that there isn't a pig that's as good looking as I am."

"I commend your ego Marshall." She says as she laughs at how full of himself he is.

"It's all in a day's work sweetheart. Why do I hear water running though."

"Oh I was just planning on taking a bath."

"Well if that's the case then I'm on my way."

"No no no you are not invited." She says abruptly.

"Too late I'll be there in about an hour's time give or take, don't bathe without me."

"That gives me enough time and I can't make any promises." She says as she laughs at the end.

"I'm going to dress up then I'll be on my way."

"Why don't you just come naked and pack a change of clothes seeing as you want to have a bath with me." She says laughing still thinking that he was joking about coming over.

"I can't do that, I don't want your helps fainting at the sight of how massive I am." He says as he laughs.

"Besides this is going to be for only you to see."

"Ew gross don't say stuff like that, Mrs Hunter would have a heart attack if she sees a naked man walking up to the house, I wouldn't be shocked if she even calls the cops on you, besides hasn't most of the female population see what you're so proud of." She says as she switches her tap off and pours in some bath gel.

"Your point being?" He asks.

"That you're a male slut." She says jokingly.

"Hey, I am highly offended Mrs Garcia, I take great offense in being called a slut. I very much would prefer being called adventurous and or very energetic, which I'm sure you would love once you understand how good I am."

She rolls her eyes mentally seeing as she could feel the grin on his face.

"God, is there a way to flip your ego off?" She asks as she takes her clothes off.

"No baby, I was born this way and I don't plan on changing. Now if you excuse me I'm going to go get in my car."

"Why? Are you finally going to go to your company?"

"Haven't you been paying attention sweetcheeks, I'm coming over to your place." He says as he chuckles lightly.

"Wait what? I thought you were joking about that." She says feeling flustered.

"Not in the slightest, see you soon Garcia." He says as he cuts the call.

"Wait, what no hello Dean, Dean hello". Anna calls out to him but soon realizes that the line had been disconnected.

'God this man is going to be the death of me'.

She thinks as she ties her hair up and keeps her phone by the tub whilst getting in, seeing as her plans of a long bath is going to be cut short by an egotistical maniac who is inviting himself over to her place but she couldn't help but smile as she thought about Dean coming to see her even though they had just seen each other a few hours ago.
