Completely ignored

The whole day was such a busy day. Liam and Christopher went into different meetings and there was no time to have lunch, Kaylee was so worried that she insisted on going to the meeting but Christopher didn't let her. This was the first time Christopher didn't let her accompany him to the meetings. Kaylee knew that she was completely ignored this time. From that moment, Christopher let go of her wrists.

"Ohya! It looks like that girl assistant of yours is not around." Christopher didn't look at him; he just gave Liam a glance and Liam handed him the book, 'Demon Inside Her' before leaving. "That girl is gorgeous. Do you mind if I borrow her for a night?" Christopher stopped, while Liam tightened his grip on the documents in his arms.

'This is bad!' He thought to himself.

Christopher clenched his fist, "Why don't you just enjoy yourself playing around with Sofia? Don't try to mess up with other men's women. Especially mine." He said and started to walk again.

Liam was surprised by what Christopher said. He didn't say it directly but indirectly said that Kaylee is his woman and the most surprising part is in front of her brother.

Ethan smirked as he walked beside them. "Ohya. She's smart." Ethan said as he walked past Liam and Christopher. Christopher calmed himself. He can't do anything reckless inside the Empire just because Ethan provoked him.

Christopher let out a deep sigh and returned to his office. As soon as the door opened Kaylee stood up and walked toward them. She was confused when he saw Christopher's irritated expression. She looked at Liam, but Liam just gave her a shrug. She gulped as she looked again at Christopher. "Did you eat lunch?"

"I did." He lied.

Kaylee lowered her head. "I see." Christopher removed his coat, placed it on the couch and went inside the room.

The moment he shut the door, Liam walked toward her and said, "He didn't eat. He's not in the mood the whole day. Plus, his brother pissed him off." Kaylee looked at Liam. He nodded and continued, "And his mind was elsewhere during the meetings."

Kaylee let out a sigh before entering the room. Christopher was lying on the bed with his eyes closed. He heard the door open and he knew it was Kaylee. She sat on the bed and gently caressed the man's hair. "Are you awake?" When he didn't respond, Kaylee bit her lower lip to stop herself from crying. "A-are you mad at me? D-did I do something wrong?"

Christopher slowly opened his eyes. His mouth slightly opened when he saw her crying again. 'Damn! I did it again!'

"Why are you crying?" He asked.

Kaylee shook her head. "Nothing. It's just that..." Kaylee was keeping herself composed since Christopher started to ignore her. It bothers her so much that she wants to cry. She kept herself busy to stop herself from thinking about it, but she failed in the end. She can't take it anymore. She needed to ask what was wrong.

Christopher's heart ached. He held her wrist and looked into her eyes. Kaylee wiped away her tears with her hand. "I already asked you this, but I am asking you again: Do you like Liam?" Kaylee looked at him confused but shook her head. "Then, do you like someone?"
