Image of her

Kaylee didn't know what to say. 'Of course, I do. It's you.'

Christopher smiled weakly and looked away. "Never mind." Christopher stood up and walked toward the door. "Let's go." Kaylee let out a deep sigh and followed him. Liam looked at her when she got out of the room. She just gave him a shrug and got her thing.

They both followed Christopher until they got to the parking lot. To avoid the awkwardness and it seems no one's around, Liam didn't bother opening the door for Christopher. Liam opened the driver's seat, and Kaylee was about to open the door in the passenger seat when a deep voice rang into her ears, making her stop. "Sit beside me."

She looked at him. She bit her lower lip. "Okay." Liam looked at Christopher and smiled, he entered the car and started the engine.

Christopher opened the door at the back seat and let her in first. Kaylee didn't say a word. She just let herself in and looked outside. Her hands were placed above her lap and her heartbeat kept beating faster. She started sweating even though the air-con was on. She gulped when Christopher got in the car and shut the door. After a minute, they were already outside the empire. Christopher looked at Kaylee from time to time, and when his eyes landed on her hands, he frowned. It was closed into a fist.

Christopher held her hand. Kaylee was a bit shocked and her first reaction was to look at the man holding her hand. Christopher looked at her, she couldn't read what was on his mind right now, she just looked at the man's beautiful eyes, but the tension she felt a while ago was gone. Her grip on her hands a while ago was released. The man slowly closed his eyes and leaned his head into her shoulder. 'Eh?'

When Kaylee let out a deep sigh, Christopher tightened his grip on her hand. He slowly opened his eyes. The image of her crying came into his mind when he closed his eyes. It made him angry when he couldn't do anything, and it made him even angrier when it was because of him. He knew he wasn't this kind of man when it comes to women, but what else can he do? It pissed him off seeing her like that.

As soon as they arrived in the parking lot, Liam didn't park the car. He just stopped the car in front of the elevator. Christopher stepped out of the car while still holding Kaylee's hand, making her leave the car right after him. Christopher opened the door of the passenger seat, bent over, and looked at Liam. "Liam, we'll be going first." Liam smiled and nodded. He understood what he meant.

"Okay! I have an appointment tonight. I'm not coming for dinner." Christopher smiled back. "Okay! Take the car." Liam saluted to him and he just nodded to Kaylee. Christopher pressed the open button of the elevator. When the elevator opened, they entered the elevator and he pressed the top floor still holding her hand. Though, she feels that her hand was starting to sweat, she didn't mind.
