Second life

Stirling was looking out the window in class after finishing he finals before graduation slightly irritated that the teacher wouldn't let him leave or sleep because it would look rude to the rest of the students in class. Stirling has always been the smartest in his class considering he has perfect memory. That doesn't mean anyone with perfect memory can be smart though, in most cases it just means the person is an encyclopedia of knowledge but cant comprehend anything about it basically they cant apply it outside of an academic institution and the most they can ever become is a really good teacher or a doctor who can follow a set procedure to the highest degree. But people who know facts and people who discover new ones through comprehending the world around them can never be on the same level.

That's sterling his comprehensive and problem solving skills are also top of his class to the point that while he was in first grade he was at a college level in all areas such as math science history and physics. So he finds school a complete waste of time, but he went for his parents who only wanted him to have a safe and full life.

Speaking of Stirlings parents they ended up passing away due to an accident on the way to one of the mining facilities near the asteroid belt . the shuttle they were one suddenly depressurized due to the reflective shield on the ship failing to stop debris in the mining field as the were doing maintenance mining laser. apparently when the laser switched on it cause interference with their shield.

Ever since then Stirling has living alone since the age of 12. Most homes are fully autonomous in cleaning and food can always be ordered out.

"Alright class! times up for the final exam all scores will automatically be assessed and posted outside of class in the afternoon."

The teacher says so without even bothering to look up from his desk. He's probably looking at the latest forum updates about the new game second life coming out. Stirling just mocks the teacher in his heart knowing very well that no information can be found on line about the game it's all top secret and their are no leaks on info about it not even a beta test was released on the game.

"cant blame the guy I guess who isn't excited about the game even I cant wait for it to release tonight at midnight" Stirling thinks to himself as he stretches and gets up from his seat to leave class.

"Where do you think your going?" As soon as Stirling leaves his classroom he runs into the only people stupid enough to fail out of class the only reason they graduate is because their parents basically bought his diploma with a huge donation to the school his name is Drake."Do orphans like you even have a place in this school? let alone graduate?"They spit out these words while throwing mocking smiles at Stirling.

Well they aren't wrong this is the top school on the planet. usually you have to be quiet wealthy to even get in and also have a pretty good IQ the entrance test is extremely difficult to pass let alone get high scores on. The only reason Stirling is here is because on his entrance exam he passed it with out missing any questions as well as a teacher willing to put a word in for him.

"Come on the only reason your graduating is because of your father spent a fortune to make it happen. other wise with your brain? pfft well let's just say I'm surprised you can tie your shoe! well I guess you have a maid do it for you dont you?"Stirling says without even looking at him. He usually would ignore Drake but Now that it's the last day of school he has a feeling that Drake won't let it go for some reason.

"Wh-what! I'll fuck you up you damn orphan!" Drake says with an extremely red face from shame as he lunges at Stirling ready to beat him into pulp. but how would Stirling just let someone beat him?

"Drake! what do you think your doing in the middle of the hallway this isn't an MMA club!" Both Drake and Stirling turn to see an extremely beautiful woman walking not to far away. With red hair and and white skin like jade and a fce that makes you want to look away scared you might ruin the beauty that it is with your stare alone. But if you can get past her beauty you will see Eyes that do nothing but cause your sole to shake as if they are trying to tear into you. Gold and Pure with the illusion that fire exist in them.

She walks up to both Drake and Stirling and glares at Drake." You better scram before I make a call and have your diploma revoked!" she says while her eyes turn sharp and unforgiving.

"YES!"Drake nearly screams as he scurries away. Once Drake is gone she turns to Stirling and that illusionary fire that burned was replaced with a gentle glow that some emotion deep within that even Stirling cant see. Only he sees those eyes the soft ones that would make most mortal men melt.

"Thanks Ms.moon" Says a Stirling as he slightly bows to her in appreciation."I told you to call me scarlet!"Scarlet says as she slight stomps her foot in anger."ya sorry that's not going to happen while we are in school haha" Stirling says as he scratches his nose and makes a wry smile

"Fine whatever Stirling" Scarlet says as she looks a little upset."Anyway I came to stop you and see if you were up for dinner to celebrate your graduation I'll cook and everything!?" She asks shyly

"Hmmm, well I dont have any plans so I would gladly come over to enjoy your cooking,just give me a time and I'll come over" Stirling says as he thinks about if he has any plans tonight

"Okay! I'm making your favorite lasagna came to my place at 8 make sure to clean up a little and dress properly you always come to school without any care about your appearance what so ever" Scarlet says as she tries to get his hair out of the way of his face with no success.

"Alright alright I'll do as you say and clean up a little just stop messing with my hair!" Stirling says as he dodges her hand and backs off just in case she advances to continue. it is true he doesn't clean up for school or anything he finds it a bother in the first place he's not here for a model show or anything.

"Hmmph fine, dont be late got it! I've got things I need to do so I cant keep you company be sure to get home safely" as she says that she turns to leave and soon disappears into the sea of students mingling in the halls.

"haaaah" with a sigh Stirling turns to leave school "i wonder why she always makes a big deal about my hair all the time" thinking to himself as he heads home "Anyway I need to go get some nutrition fluid for the VR capsule before heading home and do a systems check on it before the game launch tonight"

Nutrition fluid is released by the company who designed second life and the VR capsule. The company hasn't explained what the use is for as it will be explained during the launch of the game on the first log-in. But from the name you can guess it's for the bodies health and nutrition balance for long term game sessions. Most people make a living on games anymore with how society is almost fully autonomous when it comes to jobs and so on and considering how all conflict is solved on these games you can sell equipment and in game currency to companies that need them for fights and wars .

Second life will be the same though this time apparently they partnered with banks as well so there can be a direct currency exchange system. This is one of the few pieces of information on the official website you are given, most likely to get people excited and want to join the game considering how expensive the capsule and nutrition fluid is at 1.5 million credits for the capsule and 20 thousands for a bottle of fluid.

Luckily my par5left behind quiet a bit of money before they passed away enough for me to live life comfortably at least that was tell I bout the capsule now I'm left with a little over a million in the bank. Not a lot considering I dont work and I dont know how hard it will be to earn money in game.

Opening my door I'm greeted by an empty clean house. when you enter you immediately step into the living room with a big couch that wraps around the living room that can easily seat 20 people and a huge 100 inch TV for entertaining guests and movies.

Before my parents passed every weekend they would throw small parties for friends to come and hangout, they believed in a very social lifestyle that I myself find bothersome. Not that I dont like people I just dont like a lot of People around me asking questions.

I walk down the hallway to enter my room To the left and set the nutrition floor on my desk to get ready for dinner with Scarlet. After I shower I have an automina cut my hair and style it into a simple easy to manage way that still looks goods turn to the mirror and look at how it looks.

What enters his eyes is an extremely handsome man with sharp brows and silver eyes that sparkle in the light. Pure black hair that has no impurities or frizz to it and a face that would make guys hate you just for existing. But the emotion scene in his eyes isn't gloating or pride but indifference to his looks like he doesn't notice it in the slightest.

Infact Stirling doesn't think he is all to handsome , its not that he doesn't see beauty he just doesn't value looks based jut of a face but personality as well and he knows that he is a closed off and non social person how can that be seen as handsome?

After getting ready in with a nice t-shirt and Jean's he heads over to Scarlets place. who happens to live next door. she just moved in about a month after his parents died and went over to give her a house warming gift a custom his parents did for new neighbors.

She happend to find out after a year that his parents where dead and he loved alone so after that she decided to take care of him by cooking dinner for him occasionally and to make sure he stayed out of trouble. Even though she was only 18 at the time and just graduated college, she is extremely smart and was for more advanced then her peers ended up graduating early and getting a job as a teacher at the school he goes to.

Now she is 24 and still lives next door and takes care of him and makes him dinner at least once a week. once Stirling got to the door he rang the bell. Scarlet opened the door almost instantly almost like she has been waiting for him the whole time. The moment she saw Stirling she fell into a daze like she fell into an illusion.

"ahem? scarlet you ok? can I come in?" Stirling asks as he smiles at her "huh? oh! ya sorry come in!" scarlet says as she blushes making even her ears red. "dinners about ready why dont you go sit down and I'll get it served you know the routine by now" she says as she tries to cool her emotions down obviously flustered by his appearance.

"thanks scarlet I'm looking forward to it." he says as he enters the house and preparing to take a seat at the table. As Stirling entered the house he saw a nearly empty living room with only a small couch and TV that looks like its never used. "Still not going to decorate a little?" asks Sterling as he sits at the table.

"What's the point it's not like I'm ever here I'm either at work or your place on your big TV"says Scarlet as she brings out the food for dinner and sets it on the table "True, but after tonight you won't be able to come over as much once I start Second life I'll probably be online most the time and I won't be able to keep you company like I used to" says sterling

with a puff of her cheeks " Ditching me for a stupid game how cruel what do you expect me to do while your online all the time this summer." Stirling looks up from his plate " I told you to buy a capsule and come play with me it's not like you lack the money and I would enjoy to have you around to manipulate people with your beauty haha".

"Oh is that all I am to you?" scarlet says as she glares at sterling."Of course not your also my chef" saying this with a sly smile Stirling eats another mouthful of lasagna and thinks to himself "she really is an amazing cook to bad she only cooks when I'm around know one else gets to enjoy this amazing food".

"Ok I'll get a capsule but I won't play with you instead I'll hunt you down every day and kill you tell you beg me to stop" glares Scarlet with some killing intent rolling off her it seems she's serious.

"I'm always happy to have a beauty filling me every day so I'll thank you ahead of time as for killing me good luck you have never beat me at games in the past and it won't change in the future" says sterling with a mocking smile

"Just hurry up and eat then get out before I decide to beat you in real life instead!" says Scarlet while blushing. it's true she has never been able to beat him at games in the past she only plays with him to spend time together she never really got into them.

After dinner sterling chatted for awhile before noticing it was 11 at night and the servers opened up in an hour so he decided to leave and get home to make final preparation for second life. Saying good bye to Scarlet he left and when he got home the smile that he had on his face completely vanished as of never there in the first place.

"Alright time to get ready" saying to himself as he heads to his room and turns on the capsule to do a diagnostic test on it to make sure it's all running correctly and are no errors within the system. these are pretty safe but after he lost his parents Stirling has always been careful in day to day life.

As soon as it hit 12 he stepped into the capsule he activated it and closed the door and with a close of his eyes he commanded it to go online "welcome to second life"
