"Welcome to second life" a voice that would make most men melt came from behind me. Turning around to look I saw a breathtaking beauty with white hair that flowed past her hips like silk. She had eyes that seemed to change colors with her thoughts or actions as she looked at me with curiosity.
"hello, I am here to help explain this world to you to get you started on your journey to become who ever you want to be."
I look at at her with a strange gaze while thinking to myself "Its just a game of.course I can be who I want to be other wise what's the point?"
As if she read my mind "this game does not limit you by class or a single job as long as you have potential and work hard enough you can become what you please"
"oh? so there are no class selections to restrict what we can do in game when it comes to fighting and money making?" I ask
"of course its called second life because in real life you are only restricted only by the restraints you put on yourself. Ofcourse this world has magic and such so I guess you can say it's more fun" she grins at me knowing she's stating the obvious.
"ok so theirs magic....how is that any different from any other VR game out there? it's still restricted as in the skills you can use must be found as well as hit certain level and criteria to learn them. isn't that trying to say you can be anything you want...as long as luck is on your side?"
she looks at me with excitement as if I have some kind of treasure on my body "Very good you are the first person to get to the point on your own without me pointing it out! Ues their are basic skills for basic elements and fighting techniques but they are limited for lower levels to gain some experience in order to use the creation engine in thos world"
Puzzled I ask" Creation system? what exactly are you talking about"
" Magic! you can create your own magic spells and fighting techniques their is no limit! whether it be elemental restrictions or laws of physics bound by your real world it does not matter with levels your strength rises allowing you to create more complex fighting styles that other wise are impossible and with the understanding of natural fenomina such as fire and ice or gravity you can even create spells that cause particles to decompose and nuclear radiation as long as you understand the process and science behind it you can create it as well as discover new laws that we dont yet know!"
Shocked I get excited " So let's say I wanna make a laser beam that can melt through steel as long as I understand the process I can do that?"
"yes but your missing the biggest point...you can sell spells you have created to other players with the copyright system in place no other player can recreate your spells and sell them without permission if you are the one that created it though they can create the spell them selves to use if they understand the nature of said spell."
when I hear this i immediately find something wrong with it "What's to stop people from selling information on how to creat my spells in the outside world?"
"two ways prevent that . the first is the copyright system Carrie's to the outside world as well any and all information in post or forums trying to divulge info on spells they dont own will be deleted and posters are fined for theft. Second just because you know how a spell is made doesn't mean you can comprehend it that's the second step to creating a new spell unlike just buying and learning one you must comprehend the laws behind it as well."
enlightened I nod and asked " is there anything else that I need to know about I assume the same rules apply to fighting techniques and such as well"
as she looks at me she flashes a smile that would daze even woman " Yes levels, be careful they dont mean everything there is still a very strict critical hit system in place say your decapitated even of a level 1 decapitated some at level 300 with a cheap sword they would die even when it full health the systems hp it for most things that are related to impact damage area effects and anything that are not mortal wounds as getting an arm cut off has a fixed percentage of hp taken off from remaining hp not including bleed effects as well as special affect of that spell. so be warned that just because you may be higher level then am enemy doesn't mean you can't die to them it depends on skill as well."
Oh? that's interesting I like that, means I can challenge stronger players and beast as long as I'm skilled enough. "Is there a level cap?"
"As the system is now no there are no level caps right now there are creatures and beings in the world with level up near 1000 and that's just this world"
Hold on this world?" You mean to say this is not the only world? does that mean there are ways to travel to other worlds?"
"Yes once you either become strong enough to leave this world or build some device to leave naturally you may do so"
build a device?" you mean I can build spacecraft" "naturally as long as you understand the science behind it you can build it. like I said this world will not limit you. Magic is not the only power in this world there is science as well you dont have to make magic to get far you can also build guns forge swords and armor as well magic now which is strongest hard to say that's what makes it so fun" she says with a crafty smile like she's waiting for a good show

But this is not all it can also extend your life depending on your progression in bodily strength the creator has unlocked they way for the human body to evolve giving you special abilities that are locked within your DNA!" she says while looking right at me with curiosity
"Evolve? Extend life? isn't that a little far fetched" I look at her while mocking " You can choose to not believe soon enough you will see just what the human body is capable off especially with your eyes." she says while turning around walking to a screen floating in the air

Seriously? body of celestials isnt that going over board. "You are a rare one there has been a few people so far to have natural abilities due to high stats based on their bodies in real life but that's usually strength or speed....But you. Body of celestials now that's amazing use it well your quiet lucky,The mana Regeneration isnt so breath taking but non the less it it very helpful if you decide to make magic unique to you" she looks at me and giggles,Cute.
"Anyway I cant tell you everything or it would make your journey to boring who would want to know what going to happen next"she pauses seeming to ponder about something "Right let me tell you one last thing the people you meat in this world may be NPC but the emotions they show are very much real and of they die they will not come back. I may have to watch over him to see if he can overcome this world one that even creator says is impossible to conquer." she says that while fading away into nothing

When the space around me stop twisting I find myself in front of what looks like a town hall. I look around to see many other player popping in from nowhere looking around curiously.

Sounds a little like a hotel greeting but whatever. I think for a moment wondering what to do first then I take a look at my inventory. I have on beginners sword of common grade and a set of common grade cloth armor which is basically pants and a t-shirt. I also have 1 silver coin and 50 copper coins. I'm guessing the trends is 100 copper = 1 silver and so on up the currency line.
"well let's go walk around check the place out" I think to myself as I strut down the street lazily looking around. I see shops lining both sides of the street but nothing that I find to interesting for the current me. Magic shops and weapon shops aren't going to help me out at first with no money or any idea on what I want to become later on.
I walk around for about 10 minutes until I see a open field with a sign saying training grounds for new adventurers. So I head their it would be good to maybe learn a few techniques to get used to the fighting system in game.
I see a muscular man in the grounds swinging a sword that I cant even see move. It's as if it teleports to the gaurd position to a thrust position. Wait thrusting? isnt that more fencing thing the a broad sword technique?
"Hello, I was wondering if you were teaching any kind of beginner technique for swordsmanship?" I ask the guy while trying to be polite as possible dont really want the guy to run me through my first hour in the game you know."Hmm?"
He turns around to look at me sizing me up "Kid swords aren't something you pick up and just swing around you must first have the strength to pitch the sword up and swing it 100 time without stop to learn even the most basic of sword play."
"Ok" I took out my sword and got into the same gaurd stance he was in earlier and started to swing my sword trying to keep my body strait up with much difficulty. Why did my strength have to be so low at the beginning cant even swing a damn sword. Thinking that while I'm swinging

Ok only after 20 swings my strength went up doesn't that seem a little quick? I keep swinging over and over my strength rose up another 23 points by time I was done. seems the higher the string you have the harder it gets to raise it makes since I guess.
"Hmm, Alright good job you forced yourself to finish the set. though your form was god awful and the consistency in your stroke was bad as well you still have determination to strive and finish something that you set out to do." looking at me his eyes flash with admiration.
"Since you wish to learn something basic there are 2 moves to learn first chop and Parry you can eventually connect moves to flow flawlessly like water in order to make it so enemies can break through your offense making the perfect defence but that takes years of practice and potential that even I just dont have. Anyway just watch closely as I demonstrate for you" saying that he turns around to a training dummy holding a dull iron sword that looks like it's been through a grinder.
He swings his sword down at different angles and from the side and even uppercut chops from the right hip to the left should of the practice dummy. When suddenly the dummy swings its sword towards the trainer. The trading easily parried the sword causing it to launch above the dummies head leaving him wide open for an attack. With a quick chop the dummy is slashed across the chest.
"Ok you try now, dont worry the dummy can at most break a few bones so you should be fine." the muscular man says while laughing. Well this shouldn't be to hard it is just the basics.
"Hah" I swing my sword from different angles depending on the pose the dummy has taken trying to find the best openings for strikes when suddey.

The dummy strikes out and I hurry to try and block its strike. When my sword met its it felt my hands broke so the went numb from the recoil force. Non the less I blocked the strike saving a few broken bones from happening to myself.

Ok, seems you unlock stats with certain skills you learn. That's why I don't have a manna stat even with my high intelligence. Also from the looks of it attack power between physical and magical attacks are different. Well it would make since to raise my physical strength to do more magic attack they dont correlate with each other at all.
"What's Proficiency mean?" I ask the man while going over the new information I got."Proficiency is how well your body automatically performs the move without having to think about it as well as the effectiveness of the move such as amount of damage it can do or block in the case of those 2 it also lessens energy consumption and cooldown rates for every skill."
Oh, Well that's cool I suppose I'm only at 1% because it not second nature yet so I have to think about it when I perform the move." Thank you sir, Would you know where I can practice at with monsters that are near my level?"
The man ponders for a moment then says " off to the west there are killer rabbits at level 1-3 but if you wanna grow the fastest I would go north to the windwolfs in the forest they range between level 3-7 are fast and have powerful claws. Hard to kill for a beginner like you but it will definitely boost you in growth and in skill efficiency just dont freeze up when you see them you would most definitely die."He says that while laughing, seems this guy finds amusement in pain and death. Definitely a masochistic I feel bad for his wife, unless she turned him into this. I shiver at the thought of that scene ya let's go quickly.
"Come back when you have enough strength I can t eww ach you a few moves" he yells at me while I scurry away. Now then should I go north or west,one is safer allows me get used to my skill the other can give me a huge boost in level and Proficiency with my new skills. Alright its decided let's head north I dont think some wild dogs can kill me so easily..
