Minds at Work

Jonas went on his way to looking for Mikaela. He would soon find her and Saavi sitting in the dining hall.

"Oh, look who is finally back." Saavi waved him over.

"Yes...yes, I know. I took longer than expected." Jonas sat down and started to fill his plate with food. The past couple of months with his Uncle showed him how badly the people in the Steppes are doing. 

The luxury food that he took for granted growing up, had now become scarce on his recent stay in his Uncle's estate.

The food  piled up on his plate looked like a feast to his eyes, but real it was just an ordinary meal of meal and vegetables.

Watching Jonas enjoy his meal, made Mika hungry all over again.

"Good…?"

"Mmm…"

"Slow down, you're going to choke." Saavi poured him a cup of water and passed it his way.

"En...thank you." Jonas drank the whole cup in one breath then went back to eating.
