No purpose in hope

Lisa leaves the garden fast walking away because of what Arthur has spoken, both of them walk in separate directions, Arthur opens a door and walks back into his dorm, as he walks toward his bed the light coming through the windows and reflecting off the cold steeled weaponry.

he lays down on his bed with the nice soft feel of the sheep wool touching what bits of skin didn't have armor or chainmail covering them.

Arthur tries to have a moment to himself help but keeps having these thoughts he can't help but remember, the things his uncle said back then irritates him.

his uncle filled him with his father's words the only real farewell gift he received from his dad or uncle, Arthur starts having flashbacks from the specific day his uncle told him about his father's words.

"you know out on the battlefield Arthur, your father told me that there was no point in this war. That mad man had me for a fool I didn't believe the words that came out of his mouth that day but, his memories will live on inside of us may he rest in peace." Arthurs's uncle mourns, all of a sudden Arthur hears knocking on the door.

He gets up from the stiff wool-covered bed and stands there for a second before answering "Arthur Arthur are you there its Lisa," she says with her voice being muffled behind the door wooden door "what did you say?" Arthur says in response but Lisa does not hear him.

"listen, you ok I-..." before she could finish she was cut off by the bells ringing signaling an incoming attack

Arthur grabs his sword and gears up, Melissa and Lisa run inside the quarters to gear up so did Arthurs best friend Leo, Arthur looks at Leo with a little shocked face and slight confusion he gets the rest of his gear on as Leo does the same. "Hey Leo why didn't you show up to the quarters today," Arthur asks as he's frantically rushing to grab the rest of his stuff. "Because I actually had places unlike you."

"Hey! I actually had an excuse" Arthur exclaims stopping what he was doing for a second to look at Leo, Lisa looks at Arthur and so does Melissa. "Shopping isn't an excuse Arthur don't pull that with us."

The team run outside with the metal on their feet scraping and clanking against the gravel the heat inside Arthurs helmet was like being wrapped in 10 layers of sheep wool, in that time all Arthur could get through his head right now is that the Pantemas are the worst-case scenario.

They all rally together outside Ashland walls with their Gleaming silver armor reflecting off the dull sun hidden behind the clouds that fly above the muddy dead battlefield no sound from any of the troops just silence

the warm bright sun shining adding more, the troops have their swords at the ready the general sweating in fear because of the foes that oppose them upfront, Pantemas.

everyone waits and waits and waits until the silence was broken by the Ashland general

"ON MY MARK!!" the general exclaims raising his sword in the bright sun he then lowers his sword in front pointing at the leader of the army.

"...CHARGE!!" the general shouts stoically as he gallops forward on horseback with the rest of the troops that are on foot, Horseback and Griffin back as Arthur is moving up he starts sweating and starts to look like he's about to retreat but commits and keeps charging.

So the two armies clashed together swords clanging shields bashing arrows flying by griffins fell and bodies of me piled, Arthur, manages to slip a joke in his mind thinking "Ha how are these guys a threat they're so weak they keep going down like flys" he said with a grin on his face hiding the fear inside even when thinking that to himself his voice in his head still feared the concept of dying in war.

but then Arthur is all of a sudden knocked to the ground by a dead Griffin he falls and he could hear a loud crack in his legs he looked around and saw nobody, nobody was there to save him not Lisa, not his sister not even a trace of the general or Leo then he saw a dark silhouette emerge from the dust king Pantema the king looks down at him and raises his sword with a disgusted look, he then swings down his sword as the king was about to deliver the final blow.

"Ahhhh!!" Arthur shoots up from his bed and wakes up to Lisa next to him in the hospital with the window open and a nice soft cold breeze blowing through. "What happened I was about to di..." Arthur was interrupted by Lisa giving him a hug pressing her head against his chest, "you weren't breathing but you were sweating a lot " Lisa begins to cry thinking that she might have lost Arthur "DANM YOU don't do this ever again understand!!!" she says to him angered and agitated voice.

She then holds him tighter around his waist her face beginning to flow with tears Arthur then remembers that he blacked out all that was a dream but he remembered the story about his father a story called the Thursday war he remembered his uncle telling it to him he said.

"I was by your father's side during this war, it was horrific its also the reason I don't have a left arm damn Griffin but when I saw your father cutting down the Pantemas left and right, I had nothing to say apart from that I was proud of him, it was until I witnessed his death after my arm was ripped off, I and your father were the only two there I couldn't move because of how much agony I was in, but I looked over to him and witnessed the king of Pantema kill your father in cold blood I could do nothing but run so I ran and ran and ran I was the only survivor of that war."

Arthur thinks to himself if that somehow he and his father were connected but Lisa was hugging him to tight for him to even think about that, slowly he had this growing sensation with her around he didn't know what it was, he started to stroke Lisa's head she loosened her grip, Arthur was relieved, Arthur smiled when he looked at her but that story that was passed to him by his uncle will always be remembered as the story of the Thursday War.
