The cold breeze night, and the shuffling of the leaves  mirrors  Lin Ling's emotion at this moment.

Prismoidal Hospital

She has been standing outside the Hospital for minutes, gathering her strength and courage for what she is about to face.

Few minutes later she went forward, straight to the infirmation desk.

"Excuse me, I would like to ask for Mr. Wang Guan's ward"

"Wait a minute" the Nurse looked for Wang Guan's ward to confirm and told her.

Lin Ling reached the private ward of Wang Guan. Holding the cold door knob at this moment but not opening the the door.

She's undecided. How is she going to confront her Dad. What will she say to him.

"Are you here to visit my husband- no, Mr. Wang?  You are?" Jingyao stopped when she noticed someone unfamiliar standing outside the ward of her ex-husband.

"Lin Ling" Lin Ling stepped aside and offer her hand. When Jingyao took a closer look she noticed her red eyes . She cried. Maybe she's a close relative. She thought.

"Let's get inside Miss Lin- wait!-" Jingyao who open the door slightly stopped upon realization. She turn her head and was about to say something but was cut-off.

"Thank you, but you're mistaken. I was just passing by" Lin Ling decided not to show up, she's not ready to face her Daddy Guan yet.

"Lin Ling? You are Wang Ling'er, right?" Jingyao grab Lin Ling's wrist who was about to leave and questioned.

Exposed, Lin Ling froze and didn't know what to say and staggered back.

"Thank goodness, your finally here! Hurry let's get in, your Dad will be surprise to see you" Jingyao drag her excitedly not seeing the hesitation in  Lin Ling's eyes.

"N-no. I'm not getting in" Lin Ling protested.

"Why? aren't you here to visit your Dad?" her voice dropped.

"I--"

"Jingyao is that you? What's going on?" Because of the door slightly open, Wang Guan, who was resting inside the ward noticed the commotion outside but didn't hear clearly.

Lin Ling stiffin when she heard the used to be overbearing voice she was used hearing of is now weak and lifeless and so unfamiliar.

Unguarded, she didn't noticed Jingyao took this chance to drag her inside the ward with her.

"Guan, look who's here!" the excited Jingyao said. 

Time stopped at this moment. Wang Guan and Lin Ling didn't say anything even though both have lot's to say deep down in their hearts, yet no one took the initiative to break the silence.

Looking at the two and sensing the awkward atmosphere, Jingyao decided to lighten up by breaking the silence. She took Lin Ling to sit in the chair beside Wang Guan's bed.

"I'll go out, you two should talk?" She patted Lin Ling's shoulder and smile. Lin Ling nod.

After Jingyao leave the silence remained. Lin Ling was pondering what to say.

"How have you been Dad?" A little awkward, It took all of Lin Ling's courage to start the conversation.

Wang Guan didn't answer her. He look at her face and rub her left cheek, memorizing each corner of her face.

"You've grown beautifully" Wang Guan said subconsciously. happiness and longing reflects his eyes.  Lin Ling didn't noticed her tears started flowing. She cry silently while subbing. Wang Guan wipe her tears "Shhh, Stop crying"

Wailing she said "Daddy why are you like this? You're no longer the Daddy I used to admire, the Daddy I used to fear whenever I get naughty, the Daddy I used to brag. How can you be this thin, shoudnt you go to gym to maintain your apperance. How are you going to carry me like you used to be when I was little, I'm heavy now you wouldn't do it with this weak body of yours. Daddy it hurts me looking at you. I should be mad at you because you gave me away yet how can I be mad when you're like this" crying. she cried even more.

Wang Guan felt warm hearing his lovely daughter nagging. If it is still before Wang Guan doubted if she have the guts to nag him nor to talk back. Remembering the past his lips arc upwards.

"Let me hug you Ling'er" he said with his weak lifeless voice.

"Don't stand, you're this weak yet you still want to get up" her voice sounded angry yet full of concern. Despite nagging her Dad she went over the bed and hug him, still crying.

The silently subbing Lin Ling buried her face on her Daddy Guan's chest. Wang Guan on the other hand pat her hair and back coaxing her like he used to do when she was still a little kid.

"I was foolishly in love with your Mom when I was younger" Wang Guan started. Lin Ling listen. She knew he's telling her what truly happened before.

The younger Wang Guan fell in love with Lin Anan who was his senior during their Uni years. Lin Anan knew about his feeling but they didn't get together and remained friends.

One day Wang Guan who was still in Uni met the crying Lin Anan and was pregnant. Her lover who impregnate her left and she didn't know what to do. The foolishly in love Wang Guan proposed to take responsibility of the unborn child.

It was hard for Wang Guan who was still studying in Uni who took good care of Lin Anan till the day of her delivery.

When Wang Guan went off to the hospital after hearing the news, but was dumbfounded when Lin Anan wasn't there in the hospital only the weak baby battling for her life was left behind.

The Lin Family thought Lin Anan was kidnapped at that time yet years had passed no one found her.

Wang Guan named the baby after him. Wang Ling, sounds manly and looks like a name for a boy yet he was firm in naming her to make her stronger even if she's a girl.

It was hard to personally took care a baby while studying but Wang Guan did it all great.

Wang Ling was pampered and loved. She had everything except a Mother. She never questioned why she didn't have one but things changed when she found out she wasn't his father's daughter.

Growing up, Wang Guan was strict to her. Her studies was supervised. She wasn't allowed to cry over small things, had curfew and no night outs. She misunderstood his actions after she found out she wasn't his real daughter. She thought she was being punished and tortured. She was scorn at school for not having a mother and to add more of her being not a real daughter of her father. Bastard, that's what they called her.

She missed the old days, how her Daddy Guan pampered her when she wasn't attending school yet.

For her, the suffering started when she started schooling. She made up her mind to bring back her old Daddy Guan and it will only happen if she  did her best in everything specially in her studies. Since he wanted her to took her studies as her priority and she did.

Wang Ling was ranked first when she graduated high school, at that time she was excited to celebrate with her Daddy Guan, that finally all her hard work was paid off and everything will be back to normal again. She was wrong.

That night she went home only to find out her Daddy Guan was having his engagement party and was about to get marry. What's worst, she was being given away to her real relatives because of this.

Her Daddy Guan doesn't  want her anymore. That's what her mind kept on rewinding throughout the night.

Lin ChenAn, Lin Anan's twin brother was the one who proposed to bring back his niece and adopt her as his real daughter. Wang Guan was furious when heard it. How can he afford to just give away the daughter he treasure the most just because she wasn't his flesh and blood.

During Wang Ling/Lin Ling's final year in High School the Lins found out the whereabouts of Lin Anan. She was living happily with her husband and children in Country A.

Wang Guan, was happy when he heard the news but at the same time disappointed. He waited for her only to find out she was with somebody else. Who is he anyway to her to start with. A fool.

Wang Guan didn't gave Wang Ling to the Lins. Until they pressure him of her custody. His father also arrange him a marriage partner and convince him to just give Wang Ling to her relatives and start his own.

He didn't changed his mind despite all the proposals given. The Lins decided to fight for the custody legally and he knew he had no fight even before it started. How cruel.
