A Phone Call

In a lone room in the Grand Hotel on Adelaide Street, sits in the shadows a lone man in a business suit with a mullet reaching down to the bottom of his neck.

The phone on the other side of the room rings. The man stands up, walks towards the phone, and answers the call.

"Hello sir..." the man begins the conversation,

"Yes sir, Ariel Magnus was defeated."

The conversation goes on, straight to the point with no room for small talk.

"Yes sir, Ariel survived. She's currently recovering. She's still battle ready, though she lost her left arm. It's going to take two months for her to get used to her new cybernetic arm. It's fitted with a prototype laser weapon, she's thrilled by it."

"Yes sir, she will continue her duties and responsibilities as Benefactor. We should've know she was serious about pursuing that insane dream of hers. Looks like our insurance policy came in handy. Omega Magnus did quite well."

"Yes sir, Delta Magnus has sided with his son, Omega Magnus. Seems he's grown a conscious."

"No sir, we're still trying to locate Lady Magnus. She's completely off the grid. Even using her civilian name Stefani Lockyer, locating her has proven difficult."

"I believe my time has come sir. I will initiate my plan and will be successful. I too have a dream and a vision. And I intend to see it through unlike Ariel tried to. I don't agree working alongside her sir, but I fully understand that I need her to keep Omega Magnus at bay."

"I will report my progress as ordered."

"There is one more thing sir."

"I believe I may have located Lady Magnus' daughter..."
