"Hahaha," Luna laughed nervously. "H-how c-could that possibly be? The key of gifts appear on the hand, not from another little bug's gift."
"But this did appear on your hand."
"Well," she looked around, trying to find a reason or explanation. "It only fell on my hand, not appeared."
Dylan sighed at her stubborness. "Let's find out then," he insisted. His gut feeling was very sure that he was right. Seeing that she was looking scared at the piano key in his hand, he sighed again. "Do you mind if I do it?"
Luna felt scared because she has failed many times before, and now Dylan was claiming a possibility that has never existed or has never been heard of before. She was still doubtful but nodded lightly. It might not hurt to try. She pulled down a little on her clothes to fully reveal the keyhole. She closed her eyes as Dylan moved closer, his hands lightly shaking. He gently and carefully inserted the piano key. Slowly, he turned it.
Click.
They stared wide-eye at each other. Dylan smiled and let go. He took her hand and placed it in his stead. Luna smiled at him, her eyes welling with tears. She looked down on her hand on the key, ready to pull. Dylan was also excited with anticipation. She gently pulled on her treasure chest, and they were both blinded by a sudden burst of light. It was so bright they have to turn their heads away. When the light has died down, Luna was open-mouthed with what she saw inside.
"What is it?" Dylan asked excitedly.
"I have two gifts!" she exclaimed.
Luna picked up two glass circles inside. She held one on each hand. She simultaneously opened her hands and the glass balls shimmered. Then in its place appeared a golden microphone on the right and a golden pen with the G-clef symbol on the left. She was smiling brightly as her tears of joy fell. Dylan mouthed 'wow.'
"A golden microphone!" he exclaimed. "That's really rare. The last time something like that appeared was ten years ago."
"Really? Wow. I have a gift for singing," she said as she admired the golden microphone with a twinkle in her eyes. Then she turned to the pen "What about this? What's this pen for?" she asked him excitedly.
He picked it up and turn it around. "This here is a musical symbol," he pointed at the G-Clef. "It means a gift for writing music." He returned it to her hand and pulled something from his treasure chest. He also showed a golden pen, with an eighth note symbol. Luna looked delighted. "I have a gift of writing too, but the note symbolizes the ability to only compose a melody. A pen with a letter "L" symbol means a gift for writing lyrics. Since yours show a music symbol, that means you can do both."
She took his pen and placed it side by side with hers. As she admired the pens, a reflection of light hit her eyes. She squinted.
