Dylan was stunned. He never knew singing could blow him away. And it was sang by a complete amateur. When Luna was singing it was like an angel's voice and he felt like he was floating in the clouds. It was so beautiful he almost cried. When he saw her wave and call out to him, he blinked back to reality.
He smiled and clapped. "Luna you were amazing! Are you sure that was your first time singing?" he called out. Luna was flattered and ran back to him.
"Yes." She smiled. "Did you like it?"
"What do you mean by like? I love it! With that I'm sure we're going to win." He beamed.
"Win what?"
"You didn't know? The Season of Talents gives prizes to those who perform."
"Really? What could it be?"
"Hm, I actually have no idea either. But I heard they will announce it during the program."
They grinned at each other with excitement written in their faces. Dylan slid down from the chair and willed the piano to turn back. It shimmered and in its place was a glass circle with a tiny grand piano inside. Dylan picked it up and placed it inside his treasure chest. Then he walked up to Luna. He raised his hand and they high-fived.
"Let's do our best, partner. We'll start making the song and practicing tomorrow," he said as he shook her hands. Luna nodded. "But for now, we better get you home. It's already late."
Luna looked up at the sky. He was right. There's only an hour or so before twilight. She still have a long way to go.
"Where's the way?" she asked.
Dylan chuckled. "I'll take you home. You probably lost your way earlier and cried."
Luna pouted and turned red with embarassment. Dylan laughed at her reaction. "Come on, we still have a lot to do tomorrow," he urged.
For two weeks the two of them practiced hard to hone their skills and prepare for their performance. Dylan has been picking up and taking Luna home. On the last day of practice, the day before SUN day, they passed by the town center on the way to her house. There were still a few fairies working on the preparations and a lot who were admiring the decorations. A lot of little bugs were also strolling around, some with their parents, others with their friends. It's like a festival. It was a bit crowded and noisy as everyone is excited for the celebration tomorrow. Even Dylan and Luna were gazing in awe at the town plaza, especially on the big stage where they will also be performing. They were both feeling nervous and excited at the same time. As they continued to walk, they saw Kariza and her team walking the opposite direction towards them. When they spotted them, a smug look appeared on her face and she stopped short before them. She folded her arms in front.
The two of them also stopped and Dylan stepped forward, as if to defend. Luna clutched Dylan by the arm, her heart racing.
