Su Jun tilted his head in confusion seeing elder's stunned face, "Elder?" He looked above the elder's head.
'Monster!' A thought went through Duan Ri's head but then his face distorted and he shouted, "You idiot!"
Su Jun's eyes widened and he mumbled in shock, "What?"
"Why did you cultivate with that cultivation technique?!" Duan Ri shouted out, then lowered his head and shook it, "No…It's not your fault! It's mine—I didn't tell you not to cultivate with it," he said. 'I never expected you to breakthrough into rank 2 martial mortal let alone rank 3 martial mortal.' He shook his head, "Come with me!"
'What's going on?' Su Jun confused nodded his head, "Yes, elder." He followed after Duan Ri.
"Listen, what we are going to do now, you will have to repeat every time you come across a better cultivation technique. Do you understand?" Duan Ri said.
Su Jun slowly nodded his head.
"Good," Duan Ri said. Several minutes later, the two arrived at profession area of the outer sect and Duan Ri led Su Jun into the alchemy portion of the area and led him into a pill shop. Walking inside the building, a melodious voice sounded, "Welcome, to the pill shop." Su Jun moved his eyes to the voice and he saw a girl of around seventeen years old with looks that were slightly above average.
Duan Ri approached her, "Give me return to nothing pill."
'Return to nothing pill?' Su Jun thought and understanding appeared on his face, 'He wants to wipe out my cultivation progress? Not only that but he wants me to wipe it out every time I come across better cultivation skill? Is there a need to go to such extreme?'
The girl bowed her head, "Yes, elder." She turned around and walked out of the door that was behind the counter. A few moments passed and the girl returned with a small box. She opened the box and from it retrieved a pitch-black round pill, "Here you go, elder."
Duan Ri accepted the pill into his hand and flicked his wrist. The pill disappeared into the air and he said, "Let's go."
Su Jun followed Duan Ri outside and then said, "What difference does it make what cultivation method I use?"
"There is a difference, a huge difference. First, the cultivation technique determines just how far can you cultivate up to. The cultivation technique that you used can only get you up to the peak of the martial mortal realm and not any further. Second, the cultivation technique depending on what kind it is can boost cultivator's strength, speed, endurance, vitality, perception, Qi control and Qi capacity, now let's go."

Su Jun nodded once more and he with Duan Ri returned back to the building he was in yesterday. They walked back into the same room and Duan Ri closed the door then flicked his wrist and in his hand, a black round pill appeared, he extended it towards Su Jun, "Eat it."
'The cultivation technique I used was upgradeable so I think I wouldn't have hit the ceiling as long as I upgraded it, but it doesn't give any bonuses as strength or any other. So restarting might not be a bad choice.' Su Jun took the pill into his hand and breathed out heavily before gulping it down. Two messages floated up in his head.
Duan Ri nodded, "Good… That pill will now only be effective two more times. So make them worth."
Su Jun shook his head inwardly, 'Unless the next cultivation method, I get will be drastically better, I won't restart.'
Duan Ri walked up to table, flicked his wrist and eight tomes appeared on the table. Two tomes in one line, forming four lines. "You have two options for cultivation techniques, body cultivation techniques, movement techniques and offensive techniques."
Su Jun walked up to the table and looked down at the eight tomes.
"The first line are cultivation techniques. The first one – True Yang absorption tome. It's a D-rank cultivation skill that increases the cultivator's strength and vitality. The second one is Monstrous Ape's tome, it increases cultivator's strength and endurance; it's also a D-rank cultivation skill."
Su Jun touched the first tome; messages floated up in his head.
He then touched the second tome.
"Which one do you want?"
'I should take the one that I am planning to cultivate in' Su Jun took the first tome and Duan Ri nodded.
Duan Ri looked down at the second row, "Next are body strengthening techniques. The first one is a C-rank skill and is called iron bull strengthening. It makes the body very tough and strong and has three skill levels. As for the other one, it is one rank lower but has more skill levels and at the highest skill level it makes you tougher but not as strong as iron bull strengthening. It's named stone golem's strengthening."
Su Jun nodded and touched them one after another and more messages floated up in his head which he ignored and took the one that he touched last as he wasn't planning to cultivate either one.
"The third row are movement techniques. On the left is a E-rank movement skill, swift crane. It has 2 skill levels and it increases your speed drastically but consumes a large amount of Qi. On the right is a C-rank movement skill, moving beast, it has two skill levels and unlike the other one increases your speed moderately but with a lower Qi consumption rate."
Su Jun once again touched both skills but this time, he paid attention.
He then touched the second tome.

"The last row are offensive skills. On the left is A-rank skill, Whirling Dragon Punch, it is a very strong and terrifying technique, it has 7 skill levels but only 3 are inside the tome, the rest have been lost. On the right is A-rank skill White tiger's palm, it is as terrifying as the prior one but only first level is intact, it is unknown how many there were at the start."
Su Jun's eyes widened, "A-rank skills?"
"Yes, these are the only A-rank skills our sect has. They are not available to the disciples only the elders."
Su Jun excitedly nodded and touched both of them one after another. Duan Ri tilted his head in confusion, 'Why is he touching them and not looking through them?'
Su Jun took the left skill and Duan Ri nodded then flicked his wrist and the tomes that were on the table disappeared. "That is all, Su Jun. Let's go I will bring you on a tour and after that, you can cultivate."
Su Jun shook his head, "Yi Ya already showed me around, elder. Thank you anyway."
Duan Ri nodded, "I see. You can go then. I await the competition a month from now."
Su Jun nodded, "Yes, elder," he walked out of the room and the building.
