Chapter 6 - Darker Futures

Main Character gains +1 Dagger Handling. You are now more proficient in using small knives. The god of nature is disappointed in you.

Main Character gains +1 Butchering. You are now able to procure rough slabs of meat from dead creatures.

You slowly brandished your dagger towards the bear cub. The nervousness in your body slowly subsides as another feeling grows within you, the handle of your blade especially heavy as you raise it towards the bear cub.

The bear cub shivers as you stab down into its body, the rusty blade of your dagger cutting through, skin, bone, and muscle. You can feel the pain that the bear cub is going through.

Before long, you stand there atop a dead bear cub. It's simply survival of the fittest you told yourself, the blood on your clothes still fresh from your actions. You slowly cut through the carcass to harvest some fresh meat as the growling in your stomach grows stronger.

You start biting through the fresh remains without thinking to create a fire. The meat fills your mouth with a metallic taste as you eat the tough flesh of the bear.

Soon, you are no longer hungry, but you're still alone in the woods. You make a note to take with you some of the blackberries before you start to wander throughout the forest. Not long after leaving the scene of the now-dead bear cub, you hear a roar filled with grievances. You figure that the mother bear had now found the body.

As you wander even further, you come across a break in the trees around you. The sound of bickering fills your ears but you aren't able to understand the language that they speak. In front of you, a caravan is being surrounded by some thugs.

You stop for a moment and wonder what you could do next. You notice that the thugs are not very well equipped, giving you some hope if you were to try to fight them, though the armor and rusted dagger on your persons, don't inspire much hope either.

From where you're standing at the entrance of the forest, you also notice that a regiment of well-armored individuals is marching towards the confrontation, much to their lack of awareness.
