'A [System], what the fuck is that?'

"A [System] is a powerful tool that many people on earth wish for, it can help you on your journey to help other people.' Fate said with a little bit of a smug grin.

After thinking, I couldn't help but ask while staring into the ball with a cold gaze, "Will you be keeping watch over me through the system or putting me on a leash off some sort?"

The ball was silent for a couple of minutes and finally answered, "Yes, I Fate will be watching over you and checking to make sure you're doing your [Quests]."

While combing my hair with my hand I asked with a deadpan stare, "So, in essence, I'm your slave, nothing more and nothing less?"

The ball started to shake as if it was trying to laugh, "Yes, you will be a slave to the system and as a result a slave to me in a way, that's a good analogy."

I couldn't help but laugh with the ball, but the ball continued, "But, you will be a special slave, a slave that will be able to overtake their master if you're strong enough!" For the first time, the ball raised its voice at me as if to get there point across.

Still keeping my stoic face, I couldn't help but think this isn't really a bad deal, I mean yeah, I'm their slave but I can surpass them if I can get strong enough, plus this also gives me some sort of motivation in this life.

Still keeping my stoic face I asked, "Well Fate how do I get this [System]?"

Fate seemed relieved that I finally accepted, "I can give you the system but, once the [System] is installed in you, I will be gone, in order to integrate the system into your soul, I will have to use all lot of my diving power."

Thinking for a second, that makes sense there is no way that the ball could do this without using some sort of power.

The ball continued, "So before I integrate the system with your soul do you have any questions?'

I have many questions but only one truly sticks out of them all, "Will I be able to bring my mother back from the dead?" I ask with my voice cracking.

Fate seems like they already knew I was going to ask this, well, of course, they did they are Fate they know the future in a way. "You can bring your mother back from the dead if you manage to become a god and then challenge the gods of death and souls to a duel for your mother's soul"

I couldn't help but smile when I heard that, I always wanted to help my mother she didn't deserve the fate she got. I couldn't help but, break out into a big smile for what felt like the first time in years, "Alright Fate I'm ready."

"Okay, Chase get ready, and don't forget to say hi to your system when you wake up, also for figuring my identity, ill give you a beginner package as a reward and good luck!"

Slowly the ball began to shine brighter and brighter until it seems to explode, and then it stopped and rammed straight into my chest area, and then I passed out.

Slowly opening eyes, I for a second thought everything I just went through was a dream or maybe from shock. that thought quickly vanished when I saw my dad still dead in front of me.

'What the hell am I gonna do with you?', I couldn't help but ask myself. Remembering what Fate said I decided to say hi to my system.

"Hello, system?"

[Hello Chase, nice to meet you.]

A feminine voice rang out into my head, it seems I don't need to speak orally, thankfully.

That makes things a lot easier, 'What exactly am I supposed to do now?
