A change is gonna come Part III

As we all looked around at each other trying to figure why is Hector is here, Sulema looks outside one more time, and she notices something different,

"Hey mom that's not Tio Hector, it's Diego?!"

My mom responds,

"What? Why would Diego be driving all the way here for? And how can he drive does he have a license?"

I answer,

"Well mom you do know I'm older than him by two weeks, and I'm barely 15 so I guess? I mean Sandy does let him drive around-"

"But I'm pretty sure Hector wouldn't let Diego drive it",

My dad blurs,

We all stood there confused on why he is here, did he just come to visit? No, it must be something else,

-knock knock-

"Well let's see what he wants",

My dad says, so he gets up and opens the door for him,

"Hey Diego long time no see"

My dad says,

"Hey Oscar what's up-"

"Heyyyy Diego,"

My mom coming up to him for a hug,

"How's it going, oh my goodness your so tall!"

"Yup I know I've been getting taller , even past my mom,"

As he was saying that I went ahead and walked up to him,

"Hey Diego what's up dude"

"Nothing much I was coming over to see if you want to hang out with me,"

Without a doubt my parents wanted me to go out, I'm the stay inside and play video games type guy,

"Uh yeah sure want me to ride with you orrrrr-"

"Yeah I was planning on bringing you,"

"Alright well be careful you guys",

As my mom says as I'm walking out, almost seemed like she wanted me to go..

As I went to go sit down in the truck with him, I get asked a question,

"Sean do you have a girlfriend?"

As I was sitting there confused , I tell him,

"No I'm not into one at the moment,"

"Well I can change that for you, don't worry"

As he said that I wondered to myself where we where going..

For the ride to where we were going, we talked about many things, on how is the school, how's the family, basic stuff, when we showed up to a familiar house I asked,

"Hey isn't this Joes house?"

He reply's,

"Yes it is he invited me over, but I figured to bring you too,"

I thought to myself, damn my friends like him more than me, and it was his first day in band camp. But never the less I went ahead inside with him, to come to a surprise a lot of my fiends where there, as if it was planned without me,

"Oh hey Sean!"

I hear from my right, it was Joe , surprised to see me at his house, but he did treat me well while it lasted, Diego was in a room talking to girls, Garcia was with his guy friends, Joe was asking if everyone has drinks, and I'm just standing there alone, until I get a tap behind me,

"Hey Sean so when are we gonna work out?"

It was Dobson, out of all people I'd expect, but nevertheless I answered,

" I mean anytime dude, just let me know, I'm free during the week after band camp,"

"Alright man just let me know, bc my dad knows some defense tricks too if you want to know,"

"Oh hell yeah I want to learn that!"

I say surprised, but it would be a short relationship.

As everyone was talking to each other , I caught someone on my eye, a girl, looking at me, as if she wanted to talk to me, but I just looked away, as I was walking to Garcia to talk to him, the girl comes up to me,

"Hey Sean I was wondering you wanted to talk outside real quick,"

She had the most sweetest face towards me, I couldn't turn that down,

"Uhhh sure??"

She walked first and I looked at Garcia and he nodded his head, and I shook my head, as if we had different thoughts.

I head outside to see her, and she was far off, like to make sure no one wasn't listening. As she started to talk she had a awkward pose, like a shy way of talking to me,

"Sooo I heard you were single and wanted to see if you would like to talk more,"

As she fiddled with her fingers, I was standing there a little freaked out, a girl? Hitting on me?? Never! But I was thinking to myself that I could change and talk to someone, maybe I have a chance to make a change in my boy hood,

"Ohhh you would huh? How about we start with your number,"

That was the most sly thing I could think, but I got a chuckle from her so I know it worked,

"Ohhhh Okayy here you go, Cuuutie,"

She said that with a smile, and in my heart I felt so known for once,

"So now since I have it, what's your name??"

I felt awkward for asking it like that but she anwered,

"Angela, I got yours from Diego because I asked who you where and he helped me",

She said that as she got close to me, huh so Diego is the one who helped ME out, maybe I should repay him back,

"Well ima go back and talk to my friends I want to know more about you, so text me later on sweet bunches,"

As she said that she walked off with the amount of hip movement to make me see what I'm dealing with, huh I guess I was a little happy.

As that evening was over, Diego was on his way to drop me off, but before we go to my house we had a conversation,

"Hey so why does Oscar not come over , my grandma was telling me,"

I looked at him with concern for the situation we have at the moment, but I reply,

"Well to be honest Diego my dad doesn't want to talk Tia at the moment, for what she said about my mom, and also the whole thing about the band,"

"Situation? I wasn't told anything about a situation, they wanted me to hangout with you, and believe me I wanted to hangout, it's been so long, but I just didn't know what happen, are you in the band?"

As he asked that I look at him with doubt, he told Joe about it when he got here, why is he asking if I'm in it, he knows I am,

"I thought you knew I was? For the past 3 years now",

"Well Popo(hector) told me that you stopped going bc your dad told you to,"

I paused, my dad? No he left because of me, because I was a waste of time, I wanted to tell him but he would think i am making it up, so I went ahead with something else,

"Well no he didn't tell me anything , Tio left because-"

And I paused for about 3 seconds thinking, I didn't want to tell him so I lied,

"He left because of Michael, he's been a dick and Tio got tired of it,"

Diego responds,

"Aw man I knew it! Popo always talked about how he always messed up in the band and it would make him mad, now I see,"

I sit back with a sigh of relief knowing he would talk to him about it, but I don't want him to think about me too much, he just got back, and I don't want any drama between us, so I let it be there.

As we got to the house he dropped me off and I can see my mom waving at me, I told him goodbye and I'll see him at band camp.

As I got off I got two texts one from Joe saying that he would join me and Dobson for a workout, and one from Angela saying: hey cutie ;). My mom asked how my night was, I told her it couldn't get any better.
