The Free Ride
Kim feel uneasy, as Eric looks on Ethan and the girl Sophia. Did they know each other? She can't tell whether they were friend or not. Eric only look at them with an emotionless face, which is different from Ethan's.
"I'm always fine, how about you two? How did things go? Oh, right I've heard you two were getting married. Best wishes for you guys" without any hint of emotion he said.
"Glad you're happy with us Eric" the girl replied to him. But there is uneasyness in her tone.
"Good then, would you like to come?" there it goes again his playful look, only Kim could see through it. What does Ethan and Sophia in Eric's life? She could only feel she's not around them.
"If that is I'm invited then why not?"
"You can also bring whoever you want with you" that's when he looked at Kim's direction.
"With or without I would definitely come"
"Great then see you around then, If you'll excuse us, we still have our dinner date" Ethan said and they side by side went back to their table, leaving Kim and Eric.
In Eric's mind, he does not want to confront those two but at the time he was going out the comfort room the two of them was blocking the hallway. He tried to break their arguing but he could not enter as if they really loathe each other. A several minutes passed, a woman arrived which was his ex-girlfriend. Its the more reason he would never intrude them. But, in the end he he can't avoid them.
"Well, do you know them Eric?"
"Perhaps, but its been a long time to even remember them"
Kim want to ask what might be them in Eric's life but she could not come up with a courage to do so. So she continued to talked about them.
"Its too bad if you know that guy. I could hardly believe he got a girl, with his twisted attitude, he must have charmed her"
"I even careless, how he even got Sophia. Its already none of my business if she would fall to that guy"
"Okay, you must know Sophia then?" Kim could not help herself when she heard him say the girls name.
"I don't even want to start to talk about her, its a waste of my time" Eric noticed he have been with Kim all along and was talking to her. He looked at the girl who was intently looking at him.
"Do still have business here?"
"Uhmn, None so far. Well, do you?"
"Nothing also, are you going home now? I can give you a ride then" Eric still considered to be polite to her since they a have the same subdivision which they belong to, even if it will encourage the hope of the girl towards him
"Of course, I would love to-- Err, I mean If you insist" Kim was overwhelmed by his offer, even if she knows it was only a ride. She must chose between her car over him, but oviously she would chose him.
Even it was a short ride home, she could not control her feelings. As soon as he left, she immediately went to her living room and roll over the sofa and screaming. She was like a teenage girl who just saw her crush, but actually he was really her old crush all along.
She calmed down and sit straight up, and imagine how he buckled up her seatbelt and smelled his sent. It was like a dream to her, but she knows it really happened.
As soon as Eric left Kim's residence, he realized her phone was left on her seat so he turned back, as he arrived he went out. When all of a sudden he could hear a screaming inside Kim's home. He felt worried at the voice, so he run quickly to the doors step and immediately open the door only to find Kim was only sitting to her sofa looking at his direction.
"Uhh... Well, you left your phone in my car. But, when I get back I heard a scream so I hurriedly get in"
