Ethan's Arrival

The place was more calming than any place she have been. Sitting in a wooden chair beside the lake while having their meal, Kim could not help herself to enjoy the place. Its been a while since the time she had a relaxing days. All her life, she pushed herself just to make herself a successful person. After her parents died from the accident, she was the one who looked out for Zen. Because Zen was blind from the accident, she focus on helping her. She provide all she needs and find ways to recover her vision. Thankfully her prayers been answered, her sister can now see again. She felt at ease when she see how lively her sister right now.

For this moment she wants to relaxed her mind from the things she have been carrying for all those years. Right now, she can think for herself. Its been a while since she meet again Ethan. Being with him right now, she can't stop looking at him. He was her first crush, that even years passed she still likes him. Even though she meet other handsome guys in the small world she live, she was not attracted towards them. It was the small encounter she have with him made her not forget about him. For her, it was his kindness that captured her attention into him.

"Well, well, who's here? I never imagined I meet you here again Kim. It's been a while. Oh, also Eric you're here too. Ah, how rude of me to intrude you. Let me introduce myself-." Kim's peaceful mind shattered as she heard that voice. 'How come did that man is here?'

"We know you Ethan, long time no see dude. How are you? " the friend of Eric also knows Ethan since they entered the same College.

"Sorry Matteo, I thought you forgot about me. Well, as always I'm doing fine." Ethan with his wide smile

"Who would forget the great Ethan. Its a surprise you are here, I thought you're a busy man"

"Not at all, I also have some slack time. Mind to tell you, this place is great!"

"Oh you flattered us too much, coming from you saying it, well its a pleasure you enjoy the place."

Kim was thankful that he seems well behave right now. She find her way out from the group for a while, since they are catching up with Ethan's life. Kim sat beside the lake rocks and submerged her feet. The water is so cold and relaxing, she noticed some small fish gathering in her feet, which made her giggle.

"Mind if I join you?" her heart stopped as she heard his voice, she turn around and saw Eric sitting beside her.

"Well, I don't mind." she answered shortly. Kim realized Ethan's fiance was Eric's ex. Maybe that's why he don't want to be with them either. It made Kim sad since he still affected by it.

"Are you okay?" Both of them asked. They laughed at the sudden synchronization.

"Well, It seems my vacation will be ruined by him." Kim started looking back at the lake.

"I can't blame you with that, since its his personality that make you irritated in him." Even though Ethan steal his girlfriend from him, it was not the reason why he don't like the person. It was his arrogance that irritates him so much. He boast himself whenever they meet.

As for Kim, ever since he meet him, it irritates her so much. She don't know why he only teases her from the start. Even though they don't talk too much, it seems he knows her too well.

"I still don't know how I end up to know him. He seems to enjoy whenever I got irritated by him." she grumbled as she thought of her past when she first meet Ethan.

He was her rival ever since she started to attend a formal school. At first she was impressed how brilliant he was. Every activities they do, he always on top of them. One time Kim made a first place in their homeroom ranking. It made her happy that all her handwork have been paid off.

"So you are Kim? Kimberly Swace Pry, huh?" he approached her after their class. Looking at her head to toe, it was like sizing her up.

"Do you need something from me, Ethan?" at that time Kim does not know what really Ethan's attitude. Everyone who approached her made her happy, since she doesn't have anyone.

"Why do I need something from you, I have everything I need already." that make Kim conscious on herself, she should have never asked. But, she realized how arrogant he was.

"If that's the case, then mind if I leave before you" she said taking her bag and heading out the room. But before she could even get out the room, she fall out when Ethan passed her. He walks out as if its nothing for him, when he looked back he smirked.

"Mark this day, I will surpass you and make them more proud of me. And I will never accept you." The last statement he said was too low for Kim to hear. After he said those, he walk away from her.

"What's his problem with me?" she can only asked herself as she get up from the floor.

It is, from that day onward, they compete at each other. Ethan also never failed to irritate her. Even she tried to transfer to the other section, he always follows her.

"He seems deep rooted in you, even if its been so long he still successfully annoys you." It was Eric's voice that wake her from narrating the whole story of them. She immediately clasped her mouth, from her clumsiness. She doesn't realized she talked out loud about it.
