Dawn of a New Day

A light can be seen slowly making its way into the cave. A warm refreshing feeling envelops the current residents inside. The woman inside the cave is exhausted but she feels it was worth it for she brought into the world two adorable children. Life is just beginning for her precious ones and she is determined to be the light that guides and protects them. She hears a slight scuffling noise in the cave making her go on alert. She grabs up her children and holds them against her bosom in a protective pose. She sees a being of flame sitting in the cave observing them. "Who are you?" she asks nervously. "I am Kallum the fire fairy and this cave is my home" he replied quite smugly. "That's not true she stammers, I have been coming here for years and have never seen even a glimpse of you." He gave a huge grin and replies, "That's because I didn't want to show myself, now I want to and if you need proof of my residency I can list out all the secrets you spilled while in this cave". She gave him a perplexed look and asks, "Why are you showing yourself now?" He replies "No reason I just thought it's about time I leave this cave and go on an adventure and thought, what the heck I can bring these three along to keep my boredom at bay". She glares at him, "We are not going anywhere with you, I don't even know if you are trust worthy". He wiggles his eyebrows and comments, "Are you sure? What if I can sweeten the deal and make it to where you have power, enough power to protect those most precious to you? hmmmmmm?" The temptation of power was a very appealing thing for this young mother but she knew that all good things come with a cost "What would I have to give up in exchange for this power?" He looks at her "My dear or should I say Myria Fyrea, all you have to do is join in a equal contract with me and I wont charge you anything in return". Confusion can be seen on her face "Contract? How does forming a contract give me power?". He goes a bit closer to Myria "Their are four types of contracts that humans can form with the faes. The first and second are a type of slavery contract, true to its name the one that is subjugated has to be the slave of the other. Whom ever is the winning party effects what king of slavery contract it is. The third is the equality contract which either party can break at anytime and nothing bad will happen. The fourth and final is life contract where both parties will cease to exist if one of them passes away. With these in place both parties will exchange mana continuously strengthening their spirit and body. As one gains new abilities the other also gains them. Depending on the type of contract that could be a good or bad thing."Myria starts thinking over this information and is once again thinking their is a catch somewhere "Why would you willingly do this for me? What do you get from this?" He tilts his head a bit "Girl I have felt this sort of bond connecting us since you entered this cave all those years ago. Your are the first I haven't turned into ash stepping into this place. This is a good opportunity for you dont waste it." Myria takes a few minutes to think " He could definitely kill me right now if he wants to, he doesn't seem too bad and if I can get stronger In the process that's a bonus but I still don't trust him. Hmmm should I take this gamble?" With those thoughts running through her mind she makes a decision " I agree to form a contract with you but my childrens safety is my top priority so if I have to abandon you to save them I will". He agrees with her by nodding his head and begins the easy process of forming the contract. Both parties need to chant a sutra then cut their finger and allow the blood to mix causing their souls to mingle and connect giving them the ability to communicate with each other telipathicly and feel the emotions going through each others body. The sensations felt weird to her but through the link she felt much better knowing that Kallum did not feel anything but curiosity and a confused affection to her and her children. It was still early in the morning so Myria and Kallum started making plans for their journey. Thinking for a second Myria felt something off so she asked " Why do we have to leave the cave? The village is gone and my pursuers should stop looking for me in the next couple days, why did you decide on an adventure when we are perfectly safe here for now?". " Havent I told you already girl? You should leave it at that!" As Kallum said this his flame got brighter and Myria could feel his embarrassment through the link and confirmed that he was keeping something from her but it wasn't malicious intentions. In Kallums mind he told himself to never admit that he was taking them to the safest place he new and the only way in for them is if they were contracted for the fae world only allows in the fae and their contractors.
