The Journey Begins

Kallum had a special accessory on him, a ring, this ring could store a limited amount of items inside. He had enough room left to collect all of Myrias belongings allowing for ease on their travels. Myria was fascinated by this item, she had many questions for Kallum about it, and many other things. She had no parents to teach her about the world so she decided Kallum is best suited to teach her. It seems like he knows a lot about this world and she needs this information if she wants to survive in it. Once their packing was done they decided to head out the next day to give her ample time to rest and get used to feeding and changing the young ones. It was going to be a long, hard trip and Kallum wanted her in the best shape possible. "Girl" he says " Leave the children with me and get some sleep, it will be days till we reach another village and this will be the best sleep you will be able to get till then". Myria shakes her head then looks at him " How can you take care of them? You are so tiny I don't think there is much you can do". It was at that point a light flashed in the cave Myria used her hands to shield her eyes from the light. Once she was able to stop seeing spots she noticed a man was standing where the human shaped fire used to be. He had hair the color of flames, eyes the same shade as that of her and her children, golden skin in a scarlet robe that gave out an elegant feeling "What are the names of the wee ones? I dont think you have mentioned it to me yet". It took her a second to recover from the daze she went in at seeing his human appearance" What? Kallum? What about names?" Myria said in a flustered state. "Your children have names right?" Kallums voice held a tinge of laughter . Myrias cheeks turned a dark shade of scarlet " I haven't given then any yet I didn't know whether they were going to be boys or girls." Kallum raised an eyebrow " I can't just call them girl and boy so you better hurry up." She glared at him, handed the children to him then went to lay down. "I will think of them later right now I am tired." He looks at her a bit bewildered with a child on each arm. Hours pass day turns to night, night turns to day. It is time to start on their journey. Myria makes a sling for each of the children. She had one with her and the other with Kallum. They made their way out of the cave into the bright sun. Birds were singing, the scent of the trees, grass, and flowers added a calm serene atmosphere. It felt like the land was seeing them off. They started walking in a northern direction. Kallum in the lead guiding them along. The path they were on didn't seem well traveled adding a sense of safety to be felt by Myria. She wasn't sure if the creatures that had burned down the village were still after her but by seeing no sign of new tracks on the trail she could assume that they have not come this way. While walking along enjoying the scenery, Myria looks at her daughter whom is snuggled up in her embrace " Rosena." Kallum looks at her confused "What"? "That is my daughters name. Rosena Fyrea". " Oh! " Kallum exclaimed "what is his?" he points at the child in his arms. She looks at her son. "His will be ..... Teryn Fyrea". Kallum nods " nice names I couldn't do better my self". Myria smiles and kisses the head of her daughter then walked over to Kallum to give her son a kiss as well. "I hope they grow up big and strong. I can't always be beside them. One day both of them will go off on their own and forage a path ment for them to track. I will never be forgotten for these names are the very first gifts they have recieved and will stay with them all this life. They might forget my face, they might forget my name, but they will never forget they had a mother for these names are the treasure I bestowed on them to give them an identity." Myria looks up at Kallum a serious look in her eye " I would like you to promise if anything happens to me you will take Rosena and Teryn to safety and raise them as your own." He looks at her all silliness removed from his face I will protect all of you but if I should fail in protecting you I promise to take the wee ones in and raise them as my own. I was not kidding around when I said I felt a bond with you and now your children." Myria nodded "I hold you to that promice" she then walks away heading further down the trail. They walked for hours occasionally taking breaks to eat and take care of the children. Night loomed ahead so Kallum suggested to set up camp for the night. Myria agreed, it didn't feel it was safe to travel at night not knowing what could lie ahead. Kallum pulls a tent out of the ring and sets it up. Myria takes the children into the tent to settle down for the night. Kallum puts a large stone next to the tent and readied himself for a long night. Fairies such as him do not need a lot sleep, an hour or two will suffice to replenish the magic power used but when Myria showed up in his cave the night before last it had been over two days since he slept and he was exhausted.
