Defend The Maidens Part 1

Slipping back into the real world, Magna hastily ran up to Amber's apartment door and repeatedly started bashing against the door.

After a few seconds, Magna could hear a feminine voice groan behind the door as it flew open.

"What!?!" Screamed the woman that just opened the door.

Magna scanned her as his eyes widened slightly in surprise, "Uh… Amber, right? My name is Magna, I'm Qrow's student."

The woman, Amber, nodded as she said, "Well, it's nice to meet you. What do you want?"

Magna quickly explained what just happened. He even introduced Emerald, telling her how she was kidnapped roughly 6 years ago by the same people that wanted to attack her.

Amber seemed to be hesitant on something so Magna quickly dragged the two girls inside as he turned to Amber whispered into her ear, "Look, I know about the maidens and Salem. Qrow may have told me thanks to the assistance of a certain Raven. Just say what you need to say."

To say she was taken back would be an understatement. This was remnants most heavily guarded secret yet a young man somehow came to know of it.

She sighed heavily as she plainly said, "Is she a maiden?"

Before Magna could reply, Emerald, who had absolutely no clue about remnants darkest secret, blushed as she growled, "What does me being a virgin have to do with anything!?"

Amber straight up burst into laughter while Magna awkwardly looked away. His cheeks were dusted a light pink as he coughed and said, "Emerald, that's not what she meant. Look, we'll meet up with Qrow first. Then, I'll try and get him to fill you in. Do you remember who Qrow is?"

He was slightly skeptical about her remembering certain things and people since its been a few years but his skepticism proved wrong as Emerald scoffed and said, "Of course I remember that drunk old bird. You don't just forget someone like that. Especially if he shows up to your friend's birthday while drunk and wearing a skirt."

Magna couldn't help but chuckle while remembering his and the twin's birthday party. Due to constant moving around, Magna and the twins never got to properly celebrate their birthdays.

So, to make up for it, Magna's parent decided to hold a big birthday bash for the three of them. Obviously, Qrow, Taiyang and his family were invited over to celebrate with them.

Taiyang, Yang and Ruby showed up pretty early and explained that Qrow would be awhile. However, he didn't showed up until it was 3 in the afternoon. He was drunk, singing about a drunken sailor and worst of all, he was wearing a white skirt covered in alcohol.

Needless to say, he was given the beating of a life time from both of Magna's parents.

While Magna was reminiscing, he felt someone tap his shoulder as a voice that desperately tried to hold back its laughter muttered, "W-wait! I-is she being serious? Please tell me she's being serious! Do you have any pics? Can I see them!?"

Magna quickly snapped to her as he said, "Now is NOT the time! I'll show you the pics later so can we please get everyone together?"

Emerald was a little surprised that Magna raised his voice while Amber frowned. This was an important turning point in remnants future and Magna did not want to screw this up.

He decided that, since he's already messed up the original plot, he might as well keep going. Sure, he had hope that the future wouldn't change too much but he held that hope with a grain of salt.

Calming himself down by taking a couple deep breaths, Magna wryly smiled as he sighed, "Sorry... Just… please get everyone together. We need to prepare for what's coming and we don't that much time left."

The pair watched Magna groggily walk into the other room. Once they were sure he was gone, Amber leaned next to Emerald and whispered into her ear, "Is he ok?"

Emerald sighed, "I don't know…"

---

In the lounge, everyone sat down in shock as Magna, with the begrudging consent of Qrow, explained what happened.

He told them how he followed Emerald and somehow stumbled onto a devious plot in the making. His mother was both appalled and ecstatic.

She was appalled that Magna followed a group of shady people just because of a hunch and ecstatic that his hunch was actually right. She treated Emerald like one of her own and her kidnapping actually affected her alot.

Anyway, once everyone got over the shock of Magna's big reveal, Emily shot from her seat and brought Emerald into gentle yet strong embrace. With tears in her eyes, Emily couldn't even form words as she was just too happy.

Even though it's been years since she last saw her, Emerald couldn't help but cry as she embraced her. While they were cry out years of frustration and longing, Qrow slowly made his way over to Magna.

Looking up at his mentor, Magna noticed the hidden joy on his face as Qrow heavily patted his shoulder and said, "Thanks Magna."

Magna was slightly confused by this until he noticed the glimmer in Qrow's eyes when he stared at Amber. He could barely stop himself from smiling when he saw how Amber looked at Qrow with the same look in her eyes.

He wanted to poke fun at him but stopped himself. This was the only time he's ever seen Qrow like this and he didn't want to ruin it.

Deciding to ignore the pair that were acting like middleschoolers, Magna opted to sit next to June. Emerald shortly joined the the pair as the adults went to work.

The plan wasn't anything major. They just needed to buckle down and fight until reinforcements could arrive.

Somehow, Cinder and her group had scrambled the scroll communication system, showing just how prepared they were.

Sadly, their evil plan was doomed to fail from the moment Magna arrived as he still had the communicator. One call was all it took for Ozpin to send in reinforcements.

He was also slightly annoyed at Qrow for spilling the beans on Remnants darkest secret but forgave him due to the circumstances. Plus, Amber kinda went ballistic when Ozpin started berating him so he had no choice but to forgive him.

Anyway, there was one downside to their plan. They had to hold out for 30 minutes. Even though Ozpin pulled some strings and called in a couple favors, the airships won't be ready for at least another 30 minutes.

Suddenly, Magna felt a chill travel down his spine as he grabbed the girls next to him and ran at the group.

Accidentally tackling Raven, Magna didn't have the time to be bothered by her glare as he roared, "HOLD ON!!!"

Magna knew that Sanji had basically zero defensive abilities so he quickly switched to another, someone who only had defensive abilities.

Thrusting his arms out wide, Magna groaned as he rapidly enveloped the group in a huge pink ball. Just as he finished the ball, a fiery explosion tore the building apart and sent the ball, with them inside, flying.

Magna struggled to keep the form of the ball as every time it took a hit, it chipped away at his aura. After a few seconds, silence returned to the room as Magna sighed.

Just as he thought the attack was over, a barrage of bullets and rockets ignited the room and smashed against the ball.

Once again, the rockets seemed to die down yet this time, the hail of bullets never stopped. Cracks appeared on the surface of the ball as Magna started to tremble.

He's never felt so… drain before. Each time a crack appeared, Magna would usually patch it up. However, with the sheer amount of attacks hitting the ball, Magna's aura couldn't keep up with the expenditure.

Not only that but he's slightly exhausted from the changes done to his body. While Emerald was stunned and dazed by everything going on, she caught a glimpse of a gem stone underneath Magna's shirt.

She was about to ask him about it when Emily grabbed her shoulder and shook her head. She knew that Emerald had so many questions she wanted to ask but now was not a good time to ask them.

Minutes passed by as Magna held on by a thread. With sweat pouring down his face, Magna panted as he muttered, "Is… is it over? I don't-"

He cut himself off as he collapsed to his knees, the protective orb around them shattering to pieces. Switching back to Sanji's abilities, Magna forced himself to stand as he covered Emerald and June who were behind him.

If he could, Magna didn't want either of them to fight just yet. Emerald was still recovering while June was still not ready for combat.

Taking a deep breath, Magna fought Sanji's urge to smoke as he slowly walked over to Qrow and the others.

Everyone was surprised that he was standing up to fight and wanted him to rest when he angrily growled, "Diable… JAMBE!!!"

His legs ignited as he shot to the air. Even though he had practically no aura left, that didn't mean he couldn't fight. You see, Sanji's star cluster was very similar to Rintaro.

Sanji's abilities were martial arts based, meaning it consumed a whopping 0 aura to use his skills. The only ability he had that used aura was haki, and the consumption rate wasn't even that large.

In fact, the rate at which haki consumed aura was just under the recovery rate so technically, Magna could use haki forever.

While Magna was high in the air, he spotted Cinder's group as well as the whitefang. The grunts all held an assortment of guns ranging from pistols to rocket launchers.

However, Magna ignored all of them as he zeroed in on one person in particular. One of the three biggest threats, Hazel.

He couldn't remember what his semblance was but he did remember that he total overpowered Ruby and her friends in the anime.

Cinder and her group all looked to the sky only to see Magna kick off the air and disappeared. Almost instantly, he reappeared infront of Hazel with a head of wavy blonde locks and glowing red eyes.

As Hazel's eyes widened in shock, Magna's blonde hair ignited due to Yang's semblance while his leg burst into a torrent of uncontrollable flames. It was so wild that Magna could feel it burning his leg.

"COLLIER!"

With a single whip kick, Magna slammed his burning foot on the back of Hazel's head, sending him sprawling to the ground.

Magna wasted no time as he quickly kicked out at Hazel's shoulder as he roared, "ÉPAULE!"

The force behind Magna's kick forced Hazel off the ground as he tried to launch another kick. Hazel, after being thrown around, quickly refocused himself as he casually deflected Magna's kick.

Seeing his kick get deflected, Magna clicked his tongue in annoyance as he disappeared. Hazel didn't panic at the disappearance of his enemy as he said, "This is a worthless fight. No matter what you do, you will nev-"

Reappearing above him, Magna glared at Hazel as he stomped on his face, "SHUT UP!"

Hazel stumbled back a few feet but his face still remained the same. His passive and slightly bored look irritated Magna as he continued, "As I was saying, you will never defeat me. Due to my semblance, I no longer feel pain. You, however…"

Right as Magna went to kick him in the chest, Hazel easily caught his foot even though a sickening crunch came from his hand.

Hazel's brows furrowed slightly as he switched to his other hand and slammed Magna against the ground.

A small groan escaped Magna's lips as he coughed up a small mouthful of blood. Hazel looked down on him and sighed, "I tried to tell you. Your moves may make you powerful but your body is still human."

Suddenly, Magna smiled as he softly muttered, "Idiot…"

Yang's semblance was kicked into high gear as he burst into a pillar of flames. Magna coated his free leg in haki and brutally smashed it down on Hazel's hand, breaking it as Magna leapt to his feet.

Just as he was about to kick Hazel in the chest, an explosive round shot past his head as a cocky voice spoke, "Well, I can't let you have all the fun Hazel. I still owe this punk for the kick."

Magna turned and saw Mercury. The prideful smirk and arrogant walk made Magna want to kick him in the face. Once Mercury and Hazel stood side by side, Mercury looked at his partner and hissed.

"Wow Hazel. This guy really put you through the ringer. Maybe you should wait for your wounds to heal before you get back into the fight, maybe even use the 'You-know-what'. I'll keep him busy."

Hazel silently nodded at Mercury's advice as he pulled out a vial filled with a black liquid.

Magna felt his the hairs on the back of his neck stand up and was about to attack Hazel when a bullet zipped past Magna's neck and destroyed the vial.

Both parties turned back and saw Qrow as he slowly made his way over. His walk wasn't arrogant nor was it overbearing. Yet Cinder and her group could feel a sense extreme danger coming from him.

Their instincts, no matter how hazy they were, screamed at them to retreat. Cinder calmed her mind by remembering how many people she had at her command and sneered, "Give up and let me kill the maiden! We have you out numbered!"

No matter how much Magna hated to admit it, she was right. They had them beat. He wanted to change to Naruto's cluster and even the odds but he couldn't because he didn't have enough aura to summon enough clones to match them.

Suddenly, a shadow passed over Magna and landed infront of him. With the calming scent of tea and lavender lingering in the breeze, Raven slowly unsheathed her blade and smirked, "You may have us outnumbered but we clearly have you outmatched."

Cinder obviously didn't take well to that as she grinded her teeth and roared, "KILL THEM! KILL THEM AND BRING ME THE MAIDEN!"

Magna slowly raised his leg and was about to take to the skies when Qrow turned back and smiled, "Oh, no need for you to get ready Magna. Rae and I got this."

Raven slowly lowered her stance as she focused forward and grinned, "I hope you haven't gotten rusty, baby brother. You can't blame me if you get shot, you know?"

Qrow rolled his eyes, "And I hope you still know how to fight as a team. Years of relying only on yourself might make you mess up."

The pair snorted at each other. Magna almost thought that they were gonna end up fighting each other when Qrow shot forward like an arrow.

Obviously, the whitefang members were locked and loaded as they aimed at Qrow and fired. However, Qrow just grinned as he leapt backwards.

The moment he moved backwards, a red portal opened infront of him and swallowed everything. Bullets, dust rounds, rockets. Everything ended up being swallowed by Raven's portal.

When the clicking of empty guns rang out, the portal closed as Qrow shot forward at an even faster speed.

Qrow quickly closed the distance between him and a grunt and easily took him down. Just as he was about to attack another, Tyrian snuck up behind him.

A bout of psychotic laughter bellowed from Tyrian as he slashed towards Qrow's back. However, Qrow didn't even turn back as he quickly slashed another whitefang grunt.

And there was a reason he didn't turn back. Just before Tyrian's 'claws' could tear apart Qrow's back, a red portal opened infront of him as a hail of bullets forced him to defend himself.

Once the rain of bullets stopped, Tyrian charged towards Qrow once again only to be forced the ground as Raven's sheath brutally smashed against his head.

From there, the whitefang grunts were like lambs to the slaughter. The Branwen twins move in near-perfect sync, easily destroying the enemy in front of them.

Whenever anyone with actually skill tried to join the battle, Raven would send a hail of bullets from her portals while Qrow would curse them with bad luck.

In only 20 minutes, hundreds of whitefang grunts had fallen to the birds of prey. Cinder and her group were obviously shocked by the twins performance but she also took note of how exhausted they were.

Cinder opened her mouth to order Mercury to attack when a shroud of smoke covered the field. Seeing the smoke, Cinder tried to signal everyone to group up when a soft voice echoed from within the smoke.

"Wind Style…"

Suddenly, an ear piercing screech screamed out as the wind instantly picked up.

The smoke was blown away by the raging winds and revealed the voice within the smoke to be Magna. However, he was glaring at them with intense hatred as a violently rotating windmill made from aura rested gently above his palm.

Cinder and her group stared at him with fear and shock in their eyes as he launched the attack at them and roared, "RASENSHURIKEN!!!"

"MERCURY!!!"

"ON IT!!!"

Though she panicked, Cinder quickly ordered Mercury to try and block the incoming attack. Everyone, even Qrow and Raven, could feel the threat that Magna's attack possessed so they needed to act quickly.

With one swift motion, Mercury kneeled down and loaded a huge amount of dust into a little slot on each of his boots.

Violent winds suddenly burst out from his shoes as he smirked and disappeared in a flurry of dust and wind.

While Mercury charged at the incoming whirlwind of death, Cinder pulled out a large crystal of raw fire dust and crushed it.

Normally, the dust crystal should've exploded but instead, the pieces flew around her as they shot everywhere.

Everytime the dust shards landed on something, they exploded. However, that was exactly what she wanted as pieces of superheated debris flew towards the rasenshuriken.

Just as Mercury and the debris arrived in the path of Magna's attack, Mercury smirked as he deeply inhaled before letting loose a fierce roar.

He knew that he couldn't contest with Magna's attack because that would just be suicide. So, he didn't try to block it but rather, he tried to redirect it.

Mercury grunted as his foot connected with the bottom of the rasenshuriken. In that moment, he knew that he wouldn't be able to move the attack with force alone.

Needless to say, the debris Cinder was controlling also tried to help Mercury but every piece ended up being swallowed by the violent whirlwind.

Mercury knew he had to do something so he roared once more as he pumped every ounce of aura he had into his legs.

The dust crystals in his boots went into overdrive as a miniature typhoon burst out from his boots, forcing the rasenshuriken to move slightly upwards.

Cinder and her crew thought that they won the battle when the rasenshuriken harmlessly passed over their heads and turned to see the look of despair on Magna's face.

However, what greeted them was a huge smirk laced with contempt. And in the next few seconds, they learned the hard way why Magna dared to look at them that way.

Even though the rasenshuriken missed it's intended target, the attack collided with a nearby tree. Then, it expanded. And expanded. And expanded. It grew so large that it made Mercury's typhoon look like a gentle breeze.

Since Magna had warned everyone beforehand about the power behind his attack, everyone was already prepared for the aftershock yet they still struggled to keep themselves from being sent flying.

Let's not even mention Cinder and her group. They made zero preparation due to celebrating too early and were sent flying into different regions of the 4 seasons forest.

After a few minutes, Magna's rasenshuriken finally died down. Looking over the destruction he caused, Magna whistled as he silently admired the power of his attack.

He smiled as he turned towards Qrow and the others yet he instantly froze when he saw that no one was there.

As a tumble weed slowly bounced by, sweat dripped down Magna's forehead as he silently muttered, "…Shit"
