A little trip
A week after Gid accept Ace as his disciple, Luffy finally woke up and he immediately looking for his brother Ace, afraid that his brother is also gone like his other brother Sabo.
"AAAACCCCEEEEEEEEE!!!"
Luffy screaming on top of his lungs, sparing no effort to run around the forest to search for Ace whereabout despite his weak body. Unknown to him Dadan's men were panicked looking for him as he was suddenly gone.
"WHEEEREEEE AREEE YOOOUUUUU?!"
His tone is desperate, he runs and runs as if escaping from something. No, he really wants to escape. He wants to escape from the Nightmare of losing his sworn brother.
"AAAAAAACCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!"
His voice got hoarse from the sheer number of his scream, his lips trembled, tears continued to stream down on his face.
Finally, after dozens of minutes of running and screaming, Luffy saw silhouettes of two peoples from afar and he recognized one of them as Ace.
"ACE!!!"
Luffy immediately dashed toward him and tackled Ace to hug him.
"YOU'RE FINE!!!"
"Wai- Luffy, No! Don- ah!!!" An unclear word came out from Ace's mouth, it's not like he's not happy seeing Luffy. But the problem is...
"The water is spilled, run another five lap around the forest and take another two buckets of water from the river then get back here." A voice suddenly emerged from his side, it was full of strictness.
Ace got no choice but to comply, he flicked a finger toward Luffy's head and admonished him.
"Yo, crybaby! look what have you done! I was training and you just have to interrupt it, nice, now I'm punished. Just get back to Dadan and rest, your hat is also with her."
"Ah?!" Suddenly realized that his hat is nowhere to be seen, Luffy immediately dashed back to Dadan's house While Ace continued with his training.
"My Hat! Dadan give me back my hat!!!"
'Thank God, Luffy is alright...' Ace let out a sigh of relief and run around the forest with a small lead weight tied on his shins.
While Gid still in his horse stance with both of his hand holding a bucket each filled with water to the brim, with each arm stretched to the side. Several dozens lead bars tied on each of his limbs and he wore weighted clothes on his body.
'Basic is important' is what he thought.
while at it, he keeps trying to sense his surrounding to train his observation Haki and reciting the things he learned from back then to train his memory. Three birds with one stone~

Meanwhile, Luffy, after he knew Ace was fine, he retrieved his hat from Dadan, eat to fill his stomach and continue to sleep.
In spite of his sudden outburst to run around the forest and continue to scream, he was very weary both physically and mentally, so when everything is fine, his body immediately went to rest.

Seven months passed since Luffy was awakened from his unconscious state. Two days after observing Ace training, Luffy asked Gid to train him too. Since then, they trained together and Gid taught them martial arts but not Haki, well not yet, because their body is not strong enough.
Ace showing signs that he awakened conqueror Haki thought, and he half-awakened his observation Haki already. Only when their basic is solid Gid will teach them Haki.
Similar to canon when Luffy saw Ace's death, his growth becomes astounding when his emotion was in turmoil, that went for several months until he becomes fully calmed down and his growth slowed down. Maybe that's the period when he perfected his gomu-gomu moves?
Well, most of them were no more though. Because in Gid's eyes they are full of opening and contained too many wasted movements. So until present Gid taught Luffy mostly about Silat, Boxing, Muay Thai, and taekwondo to stop his bad habit when fighting and compliment his duke-it-out fighting style.
While Ace was more well rounded and mostly taught about Mix Martial Arts in general to compliment his all-rounder fighting style, and his future devil fruit too of course.
Today, they were prepared for a little 'exercise' to hunt a few pirates to compare their strength. Both Ace and Luffy was very excited, it's their first time set sail to hunt pirates on their own, besides this, the only instance they rode a ship was with Garp using a marine ship.
"I'M GONNA BE A PIRATE KING!" Luffy yelled out to express his excitement, he's grinning widely and laughing with his 'Nishishishi' laugh.
"Shut up! get on the ship now before Big Bro get angry!" Ace couldn't help but reprimanded Luffy, all this while Gid has been both their strict master and protective older brother.
Hearing that, Luffy immediately jumps onboard while retaining his grin. He's fantasizing about his future mate, what kind of crew his future pirate group will be? he was excited to begin his own adventure!
"Cease your daydream, y'all way too young to start sailing on your own." Gid suddenly appeared on their back, but Luffy and Ace were not surprised as he was doing that often.
"Oh really, you're also not any bette- Auch!!! What was that for?!." Ace whispered under his breath when suddenly Gid's fist hit his head.
"I'm stronger than you, and I'm way faster than you. Besides I am two years older than you, and four years older than you." Gid said while pointing his finger to Ace then to Luffy. He then took out two wanted poster and unfurled them.

"See this? this is both of y'all targets." Gid said while showing them the wanted poster.
"This one is your target, and this one is your target, don't lose them." He handed the One-eyed Captain Tim poster to Luffy and Silver Hook Weasley to Ace.
"Okay!" "Yes!" Both Ace and Luffy answered with great enthusiasm and big grin filled their face.

Meanwhile, somewhere unknown...
A blonde haired kid with one missing teeth wearing a patched suit woke up from his sleep.
"Why do I have the same dream again? I can't see their faces nor I hear their name. But they feel Important to me..." He's clutching his head, feeling a bit dizzy and tired from the training given by his teacher, Mr. Dragon.
"The same dream again?" A girl wearing a shirt and shorts ask him with concern.
"Yes, Koala. Same as usual, that dream again..." The Boy said with a sad tone, a helpless smile showed on his face and a sigh escaped from him. He grabs his hat beside him and stands up to set his bed.
"I'm sorry I can't help you..."
