The Emperor's Tale

With much trouble, I was able to evade the Killer Bear's attacks. With a loud thud, the trees and branches around us broke like fragile glasses. With that, I started running again towards the inner forest.

I felt like even more bloodshot eyes are staring at me. And besides, the bushes around me shook suspiciously.

Sure enough, a pack of Blood Wolves pounced and chased after me. The Killer Bear also happened to notice the wolves and began swinging his big arms towards the pack. A wolf was hit and was sent flying. The poor wolf wasn't able to get up again, it was actually like being hit by a truck.

Due to the sudden wolf attack, I was able to get away from them and went running into a cave.

Some wolves however separated from the group and then went chasing after me again.

I flung myself across the cave's small entrance then pushed a stone to block the wolves from coming in.

Exhausted, I dropped into my butt. My hands were trembling and I was now left in the dark.

Just now, I almost got killed…countless times.

After settling down from the shock of being killed, I look at my surroundings which was pitch black. This cave must be far away from the town because I have no recollection of encountering such place.

…Then I must have unknowingly crossed the red line, that explains the Blood Wolves attack. The red line was the boundary between the human realm and the forest beasts, so as long as you stayed behind it, you'll still live long. The only thing that confused me is the Killer Bear's emergence. By the time we were attacked, we were far from the red line. There was no way the Killer Bear would go out of his way just to hunt us.

With a Poof, System emerge again.

[I really believe in host's ability to survive.]

Her green eyes sparkled in the dark.

"What are you? a sadist?"

I sarcastically asked while evading her body who was trying to flung herself towards me to give me a hug. She stumbled face down.

"I still haven't forgotten what you've done."

[If waz a welcome 'ome gweetings fom' meh! (It was a welcome home greetings from me!)]

She was grinning cheekily, pinching her bloody nose.

"Whatever, you sadistic System. "

[Host's too cold.] She said with tears in her eyes. [But there was no denying that a system always had the best decisions. Therefore, we are transmigrators' best ally! ]

[Honestly, it was just an introduction to you, as my host, that this world is a dangerous place. In a way, it would help you grow stronger and would help you had a grasp of what world you were in! ]

The system had a point there… Feeling satisfied, the system strolled past me. Pointing her hands towards an empty space, she gathered mana and created a fire. The fire ball was suspended in mid-air. The cave's entrance was closed making the temperature decrease dramatically, with the help of the fire that the system created, a comforting warmth engulfed my body.

The fire illuminated the area, and I only realized that there's another entrance towards the deeper part of the cave.

"Shall we… head in?"

The temperature was once again reduced that we have to cramp ourselves in the fire. The cave's surface was moist and slippery that we have to watch our steps, however there were no unusual encounters yet. We proceeded smoothly until almost an hour later had passed.

"Geez, so cold…so cold…"

[I can give host a hug if he wants to.]

" Not even in your wildest dreams. "

[Host doesn't have to be shy. fufu~]

Her laugh echoed throughout the cave. Her arms however is still wrapped around her body, despite being cold, she still have the nerves to crack a joke. With that, I came out with a bright idea.

"You kept on calling me host, honestly it makes me really uncomfortable. It made me feel like a victim of an invasion. Why don't you call me Lawton instead? "

[Lawton? To call host such nonsense.]

"It wasn't nonsense, it was actually my name. "

[fufu~]

She laughed again, I honestly grew used to her laugh, I mean she really laugh and smile a lot.

[I'm glad that Lawton wants to be in terms with meh~]

"Not with a weirdo."

I brought my hand to my chin and thought for a moment. System noticed my sudden action then tilted her head.

[???]

"I was thinking of what name I should give you. "

For a moment, System's expression turned into confusion, into shock and then into some what a serious face.

[Lawton…]

I pondered for a moment before hitting my palm with my fist.

"Yeah, Juliet would be good! "

It came from a novel from earth. Satisfied with myself, I urged her to move forward.

"Let's go, Juliet. "

[Lawzon~. (Lawton~)]

Juliet's eyes were brimming with tears.

[Lemme serve thou for all eternity!]

"Please, Don't. "

After so many twists and turns, we finally reached a large room. Across the room is a coffin surrounded with old bookshelves. Aside from that, a treasure chest, which glowed faintly beside a throne and was covered in thick layer of dusts. However, the most eye-catching thing, is the white Tiger asleep who was still unaware that there are intruders around.

[fu~ Judging by the looks of it, this place must be about a hundred years old!]

"That white tiger..."

[Ah, yes, yes...he was an Immortal Frost Tiger. Obviously, he was left by his owner to manage the place. Cute~♡]

Juliet said with a matter of fact tone.

"He?"

[Obviously, he was a boy. Can't you see?]

"No, I was born completely normal."

[And what do you mean by that?]

"Anyway, lets get outta way. "

*Crack*

"…"

[ *Sweat drop* ]

Juliet just land into a binding curse.

That startling noise echoed throughout the room. Normally, it's won't be left unheard because the room's atmosphere was abnormally quiet.

The white Tiger flew out of his slumber, glaring at the intruders with his light blue eyes. His body was wrapped in blue flames, and his presence causes the surrounding temperature to drop significantly. The flame Juliet created was distinguished however the white tiger's frosty flame was enough to illuminate the whole throne room.

I felt chills run down my spine.There was no way I would be able to fight him. I was just a fifteen years old teenager who was just about to learn magic, who had a useless system trapped in a binding curse.

The white Tiger looked down at me with his majestic eyes while taking a step forward. The ground below was immediately frozen, thin sheet of ice was visible. Then another step…

I wasn't able to move my body due to pressure, sweat drop profusely from my forehead. Even Juliet, who was currently cursed, was unable to move nor make a sound.

…It was dead end.

However, the next scene was unexpected…

"…"

[…]

The White Tiger bowed down.

"I was waiting for you, Master."

"Eh? "

"I, your servant, is very happy to see you again."

"…"

"I knew the Emperor would regain his memory."

"Just what is happening? "

Seems like the Immortal Frost Tiger was Emperor Garth's servant serving him for almost a century now. Well technically, he was my servant.

A century ago, Garth Heather Vandell was defeated by the Empress of Rosegalle, Stella. What those story books I have read weren't able to mention is that the Fior Empire (Garth's Empire, demon empire) was able to find a way to revive their emperor. However, it took decades to fully distinguish the curse and to fully revive their Majesty's body. When he was finally revived, he once again turned into a kid, without a trace of his past memories.

Due to excess use of magic, it was fortunate that the Emperor didn't go insane, only causing damage to his memories. However, the Emperor's past glory was long forgotten, his mana reaching zero once more.

He was driven out of his own Empire, without a memory of who he was. That's when the Immortal Frost Tiger took him and was forced to live in a cave. However, without any knowledge on how to take care of his dear Majesty, the Immortal Frost Tiger took him to a town nearby.

…that's when I, an ordinary person, took his place and was reincarnated as him.
