"well done mam. The baby heartbeat is nearly back to normal, your blood count also climb up to nearly on the normal range. Tomorrow you can start to have a walk and we will see if no more bleeding" the doctor came to do late afternoon check up before she went home.Nick and Alice were delighted.
At 6 o'clock Mrs Feng came to deliver dinner with her husband. Not long after, the family who used to gathering on the living room now huddled together on the small hospital ward. Alice told them the last diagnosis from the doctor.
"That's good" Mrs Feng was very glad.
"Eldest sister, you nealy gave me heart attack" Josh said.
"Bro, Lets have some dinner I am starving" Sean asked Nick.
"Go ! have dinner" Alice smiled to her husband. Nick nodded. They went out together with Mr Feng joined them.
They went to the italian restaurant close by. They had dinner while chatting. Sean initiated the topic "They stayed on the same hotel where she had lunch yesterday. I have the room number".
"I'm going to visit him the earlier the better. Alice condition is stable now, so I am thinking to do to it tomorrow morning" Nick scooped his food.
"I'll come with you. I'll pick you up at 9" Sean said.
"I'll be find" Nick didn't want to bother his brother free time.
"Sean is right. Let him go with you. I am going to ask Cacha to come in the morning so Alice won't be alone. Your mother and I will come earlier with her lunch" Mr Feng was unease to let nick go by him self.
"Well. I need you to get an envelope from my room. It is on second drawer of the right bedside table. This is the key" Nick passed his car key to Sean.
After they finished their dinner they went back to Alice ward. it was alreay late so they went back home.
"Remember, what ever happen you should be polite to him. He is your father in law after all" Mr Feng remindes Nick when he send them home.
The next morning, Nick took Alive to have a stroll. It was only 8.30 when he took her back. Alice was stunned to see Sean and Cacha were already in her room "You are so early".
"Mum asked me to bring your breakfast" Cacha smiled sweetly.
"And new clothes. well, I need to borrow your husband for while. I promise you, I'll give him back in the afternoon" Sean grinned.
Alice twithed "Take him. I don't mind"
After taking a quick shower and steal some food, Nick went with Sean while Cacha stayed.
They arrived on the hotel and when to hotel desk. "Excusr me, will you able to contact the guest on room number 2602" Nick asked politely. The front dest officer made a call "Sir, he asked who you are"
"I am Nick Feng. Husband of Alice".
"He is ok for you to come up to his room".
Chairman NG was in agony for two day.
On thurday, he couldn't even close his eye to sleep, the bloody scene from the noon haunted him. The next day, he went to hospital to check his daughter condition. He didn't dare to enter the room but just peep from the glass window on the door. He even hid when his in law came. He was greatful that his in law family treated his daughter well but he was afraid they would ditch her if they found out her past.
He was stunned when the front desk called to tell him that Alice husband was down stare and wished to see him. He sat of sat there excitingly but also anxious at the same time. it would be his first time have a proper face to face discussion with his son in law.
"Sir, they are here" He had ordered one of his man to wait for his son in law outside.
Nick and Sean came in side, they bowed their head and sat down as chairman instructed. Not long after, the room service came with pot of tea and few tea cup.
Nick was a bit nervous as chairman NG observed him closedly. Chairman NG scanned Nick face and clothes and shoes. His son in law appearance was neat and good looking even with out expensive clothes, the glasses that Nick wore that day made him look smarter. He stared on the rmwedding ring on Nick left ring finger Nick for while before he smiled and nodded with satissfaction toward his son in law.
He witnessed how Nick looked after Alice, he knew he loved her deeply. In top of that, his daughter smiled happily when Nick was with her. He really could not find any reason to make his dissatisfied with his daughter choice. He event praised her taste of man silently.
"Have the tea. Do you want anything else" Chairman NG asked.
"Ee are fine. Thank you" Nick and Sean drank.
"How is Xinxin ? Is she better ?"
"She is fine now. But she is still monitored closely"
"It's our third time to see each other but first time we speak nicely" Chairman NG smiled and took a sip. He was relief to hear directly from his son in law regarding his daughter well being.
