Stand Off

In the Forest of Doom proclaimed as such by Aloph, two figures were staring down at each other with killing intent. A Spirit Python and a human child. That human child was Aloph. Ten Meters away from him, staring down at him with anger was the silhouette of the Spirit Python. Each didn't dare to make move as each had the bane of the other.

The Spirt Python could directly bypass Aloph's Body Strengthing Technique and he was able to cut the Spirit with [Father's Will, so they were currently at a standoff, waiting for the right moment to attack their foe.

Staring at the python, Aloph had begun to sweat nervously. The last time he was here, he had almost died because of the Spirit Wolf and that was in the open without any fog to block his vision, but here? His vision was handicapped, allowing him to only see 3 meters ahead of him and he was facing a Spirit Python that was able to make jump attacks, It didn't help that when it moved, there was barely any noise from it and to make it even worse, the Python could clearly see through the fog with ease.

Swallowing the spit that had accumulated within his mouth, Aloph decided it was now or never. He readied himself and was about to make his move when both he and python heard the howling of a wolf.

AWOOOO!

That howl could only come from one thing...The Spirit Wolf! It sounded close too.

Hearing the Howl, both he and Python grew tense. Neither he nor the Python could take their eyes off each other in fear of the other making a move, so as the two kept their staredown going, both would use their hearing to check their surroundings for sudden noises.

As Aloph used his ears to try and listen for sounds, he noticed that he couldn't hear anything, but his quick heartbeat. The air was deathly still, no rustling of leaves, and crunching of sticks. Nothing. When he noticed this, he remembered something her mother told him.

"If you're ever out taking a hike and the surroundings suddenly become silent, that usually means a predator is nearby. All the animals will stay still in an attempt to hide their presence, even plants will do this. So, if you ever encounter this Aloph, make sure to stay silent and not make the first move. If you're the first to make noise, the predator will signal you out and make a run for you. Be careful Aloph."

Remembering this, Aloph did as he was taught and tried not to move a muscle. Of course, one of them would have to make a move some time, but both were equally determined to not be the target of the wolf. So, they continued staring down at each other in dead silence. Seconds passed, and soon became minutes.

Roughly 8 minutes had passed and Aloph was reaching his limit. Surprisingly, staying absolutely still and silent in front of a Spirit Python with a Spirit Wolf nearby as well was quite the task. So, Aloph decided it was time to end this and he knew just the way to do it.

'Although the Spirit Python is intelligent, it's not at the level of a human. It is still an animal at heart. If it's just as tired of this staring contest as me, then I'm sure this will work.'

Once he made the plan, he waited for a few seconds before making a sudden grabbing motion towards his knife pouch. Seeing this, the Python was forced to act. It coiled itself fully before blasting towards Aloph in a jumping attack.

Though Aloph reached for his knife, he didn't actually plan to use it as it would be useless here in a battle against Spirit Animals. No, he forced the Spirit Python to act as it didn't know whether the knife was also able to hurt it and if it did, it would be forced to move or become a still target for Aloph to throw the knife at it.

So, the moment he saw the Python make a move, he swiftly rolled to the right to avoid the attack. Unfortunately, while Aloph did avoid the brunt of the attack, he was still hit by the tail of the Python and flung back into a tree.

Letting out a sharp gasp from being hit and thrown into a tree, Aloph would then fall onto the ground letting out several coughs. Because of that, Aloph had let go of his sword which caused it to be roughly 4 meters away from him. Looking up with his hand held against his chest, Aloph watched as the Python slithered towards him with it's gaping maw wide open.

Seeing this, he simply smirked. He did it, he baited it.

Suddenly, the Python would turn it's attention away from Aloph and to the left where the Python's field of vision would be filled the appearance of the Spirit Wolf with its jaws wide open jumping towards it.

The two spirits would collide with the Wolf biting down on the Python's body.

"An enemy of my enemy is my friend...hehe," Aloph said as he let out a slight chuckle as he would slowly crawl towards his sword with his attention still on the two spirits.

Of course, a python will do what a python does best, constrict. The Python, with its massive length coiled around the Wolf, began squeezing. Though, as it did so it would receive the multiple attacks from the wolf's two claws and suffering massive damage. Spirit Animals did not bleed but instead leaked energy. With each claw attack, chunks of the Python would fall off and disappear into nothingness.

The Wolf wasn't the only one to deal out damage. As the Python squeezed the Wolf, it would sap some of its energy away from it and into itself.

Watching the two Spirits battle, Aloph had slowly crawled to his sword and upon retrieving it, began hiding behind a tree. If he wanted to gain anything out of this, he'd need to wait for the right moment.
