After the repairing of his [Father's Will] was complete, Aloph picked up the knife he dropped on the ground and returned it to the pouch on his leg. He then looked deep into the forest with eyes that showed determination. Aloph then let out a yell as he suddenly ran into the forest. "Here I come, Spirit Wolf!"
Aloph, with his new sword in hand, sprinted through the forest with great speeds. Occasionally he would run into a [Brown Forest Rabbit] and with the application of his killing intent it would freeze the rabbit in place and with a swift swing of his sword, the rabbit's life would end like that. This had gone on for some time and when he had stopped to rest, he had already killed 14 rabbits. Totaling 14 Exp.
Aloph looked up at the sky from the forest floor and saw the sun hanging overhead, noticing that it was only noon, Aloph calculated how much time he had left before the Spirit Wolf appeared again.
"Spirit wolves only appear at sunset and before dawn, so I have about 4-5 hours before it appears, which easily gives me enough time to rest."
Aloph sat down against a small tree stump with his sword close beside him. Aloph watched his surroundings in silence, but in his mind, he was anything but silent.
"Ever since I've entered this forest, the only animal I've seen is the rabbits and the spirit wolf, but that isn't considered an animal. But, why is it that when I entered this forest again, the carcasses of the rabbits were gone. Another animal? But he never saw it. Oh, speak of the devil. Another rabbit."
As Aloph was thinking to himself, a rabbit passed by him, ignoring his existence. Aloph just let it be and continued resting. Soon, he would close his eyes out of boredom and by making that foolish mistake, he was forced to sleep by his ten-year-old body.
1-5 hours later.
Aloph, who was currently sleeping while leaning against a tree stump would suddenly be awoken because of a chill that ran down his back. Quickly grabbing his sword, Aloph would enter a battle stance and look at his surroundings. Unknowingly, while he had slept, a fog had covered the forest. His vision was now severely impaired and although he had the Body Strengthing Technique, he didn't think himself invincible and that idea was even more correct when he couldn't see past ten feet.
Not making the same mistake twice, Aloph opted to leave the Forest and return tomorrow. Wasting a day was better than potentially dying due to useless pride. Aloph then began to slowly walk the way he came, making sure to not make any unnecessary noise. As he moved, he would constantly look around, making sure there was nothing near him.
Slowly, he made his way through the forest. Then, as he turned his head to the left, he spotted something move. Instantly, Aloph crouched and stared at the movement he saw. Walking in a fog was a huge detriment right now. Squinting his eyes in an attempt to make out the figure, Aloph only managed to see a slim body measuring two meters tall.
'System, what is that?' Aloph asked within his head.
[Ding! The system can not provide an answer since the owner does not fully see the figure.]
'Shit!' Aloph swore before mentally shrugging his shoulders and moving forward. Since he couldn't get any information from the system and potentially kill the creature, he didn't bother it and moved along, wanting to get out of the foggy forest.
Though, as he moved forward silently, Aloph would receive a sudden chill down his back and without thinking ducked and rolled to his right. One-fourth of a second later after he ducked a dark tail flew over his head and hit the tree which had been previously in front of him. That tree, when hit by the tail easily snapped in half.
After he recovered from his roll, Aloph looked up at his attacker which he assumed was the previous figure he saw. After seeing his attacker in full view, the system sent him a display with the creature's info.
[Corpse Devourer/Spirit Python]
Rank: Tier 1
Description: A Spirit Python. Once a normal Python, but after devouring the corpses of already previously slane beasts it's soul had changed and became mystical. Upon its death, the soul of the Python did not move into the wheel of reincarnation. it stayed on the living plane and became a Spirit Animal, gaining several new abilities.
Since Spirit Animals were naturally damaged by the sun, it was forced to spend a tiny bit of its energy in order to create a fog that surrounded it. This wasn't a detriment to the Spirit Python as any corpse it devoured easily allowed it to recover any spent energy.
Length: 26 Meters.
"Another Spirit Animal?! Holy shit, what kind of forest is this!? and it's a Corpse Devourer too?!"
Although he complained, Aloph quickly took a battle stance and watched the Spirit Python in contemplation. He couldn't run away from this. At the same time, after the spirit python noticed it missed its target, the python recoiled its body before jumping forward like a spring under pressure with its mouth wide open and It's fangs extending out.
Although he saw it coming, he could only put up his sword as a defense and parry it. Before python hit his sword, Aloph moved slightly to the left and when they did collide, the power that came from the python transferred through the sword and into his body. With their collision, Aloph was thrown back two meters and landing on his ass.
"Fucking jumpers, I swear."
Aloph grumbled as he rolled forward, narrowly dodging another pouncing strike from the python. The moment he finished his roll, Aloph made a swinging motion backward, attempting to hit it. Obviously, when he heard the sound of the python hiss in pain, he knew it was hit. Turning around, he saw a tiny piece of the python laying on the ground. Then, a second later it disappeared.
The python was clearly not happy at this development as it didn't attack again and instead stayed coiled in its current position, watching him with newfound caution. Aloph did the same. That was when the staring contest started, which one would make the first move?
