Back in the Forest

As Aloph stepped out of his house, he put his pouch of copper coins, steel ingots and storage ring into his subspace. He couldn't exactly wear a spatial ring out in the open when he was only a mere ten-year-old child. He'd be swarmed with people asking for it, through kind or rude means. He would bring it out when it was needed.

He opted to carry his new sword, [Father's Will] since he never knew when he might need it, besides, he would be repairing it later anyway.

Now, all he had to do was remember the specific rune he had to draw on the sword to repair it. In trying to remember something his mother, the sect mistress, had taught him.

"Aloph, an artifact is categorized by the number of runes it has. One rune equals a Level One Artifact and two equals a Level Two Artifact. Also, the runes themselves have levels. The levels are determined by the number of runes on a single space and for every rune added, the difficulty dramatically increases. There is a rune for every single element, but some are unknown due to the records lost in the war, simply forgotten or just lack of competent artificers. So, the more powerful elemental runes are forever gone.

To draw a rune is very simple. First, gather the energy of your concept within your hand and carve the rune into your item. Then, when you're done carving the rune, imbue the rune with your concept energy and you're done. Of course, there are other methods to imbue the rune with energy. Placing it upon an altar of a certain element will do and also using the blood of a child, but that is deemed as a demonic act. So, do not ever do it, Aloph. Do you understand?"

As he remembered that lesson, he figured out which rune he needed to draw, but that would be for a little later when he wasn't in view of others.

As he walked to the forest with his new sword, others who saw him would look on with shock. Aloph was going back into the forest! The people who recognized him quickly ran up to him to stop him but were simply told that he was going on a journey. If they didn't believe him, they could just simply ask his parents. Of course, the people asked his parents which gave them the same answer.

After that little situation was resolved, he soon entered the forest and once he was sufficiently deep enough, he stopped and took out the 2 steel ingots. For the five sticks he needed, just simply looked around for a few minutes to find them. Once everything was collected in a small pile. He gently placed down [Father's Will] in front of the pile of ingredients. He then took out the knife from his leg pouch and positioned it above his left index finger.

But, before he started, he let out a sigh and lamented to himself.

"I'm sorry, mother. I'm sorry that I have to disobey you and use this technique."

Then, he made a small cut on his finger. Blood was quickly seen exiting the cut and dripping to the ground. He put the knife on the ground and placed his left index finger against the sword, a bit to the right of the other two runes. He drew a cross with a tilted midsection. The cross symbolized nature and need. The instant Aloph finished drawing the rune, his blood turned bright and he got a system notification.

Suddenly, Aloph felt weird. As if he had lost something, but that didn't matter at the moment since the repairing of [Father's Will] was almost complete. A few moments later he received a prompt.

[Would you like to repair [Father's Will]?

Y/N]

He clicked [Yes] and in a burst of light, the two steel ingots and the five sticks disappeared leaving only the sword behind that looked almost brand new. Aloph smiled and picked up the sword and checked it's description and stats.
