The Hunch (Chapter 4)

Sunrise, I sit up. The sunlight beams into my dorm, bouncing off the mirror. Im still tired. I had quite a dream last night, kind of bothered me for a while. I decide to keep it for myself. I get to the shower and quickly change my uniform, the exam starts at 8:45 AM and its 7 AM now.

I walk past the dorm hallway and walk towards the academy hall. The lock doors on Takaii's door indicates that he left earlier. Made me seem like a lazy person for some reason. Other students showed up at the hall, in their uniforms, ready for the exam. We were said to take vehicle A02, to the Vechon Fields, where there were several wild encounters there. It is said certain facillitators would be there to peek on us, to see our battle experience. My group was ready, Aden, Yanagi, Takaii and I. We waited for A02 as the facillitator guided us through the maps of the fields. I could see expressions of nervousness portrayed by each of us.

A02 came to a final stop, and its doors opened. The smell of pure land grass and forests were present. The four of us anxiously looked around. "Alright, listen well. 'Tis to be alarmed that battle can proceed anywhere. Protocol everyone mmkay?" said the facillitator. We roamed the forests for a few minutes. Twigs and branches started falling from trees, when all of a sudden, a creature approached us.

This creature had was an auros. We could see it by its eyes. I quickly draw out the Aestus blade in a stance in an attempt to scratch it. Yanagi was ready with her trident, and Aden was, with his Basilisk. Takaii took out a spellbook casted some sort of freeze spell on it. The creature was in a stance where it could only breathe, and we could see each breath inhale and exhale. Aden decided to fire the creature with a shot, the creature shattered.

"Bullseye! Ya-Ha-Ha!" he shrieked. Me and Yanagi were up next. Yanagi saw a figure, cloaked perhaps. She tried to poke the figure and it stood up. "Oh, m-my bad.." she said. The figure was an auros. The creature suddenly whipped out a blade. The blade was as clear as ice and glass. "Hold on..this isn't a Auros, it's....Vorhes?" said Aden. He was right. Auros have no control over weapon wielding and over stable battle stance. The figure stood upright with it's ice clear blade on his shoulder. It decided to swing its blade. I quickly rolled over to him to get a quick cut. The creature bounced back. Yanagi swung her trident at the figure but all of the hits missed. I used my Esper to launch my Aestus blade. The creature wasn't penetrable.

"Uh oh.." said Takaii. "Takaii, use a spell, quick! We can still do this!" I shouted. Takaii casted a flame spell to burn off the figure's cloak. It was immune. I had enough. I swung my sword several times on it but it kept moving back. Aden fired a few shots at the figure but it didn't budge. The cloak almost fell off as it moved back. There was a strange logo on his neck. It was like a symbol. The figure then dashed at me while I was offguard. I quickle swung the blade and the figure was stuck on the blade, which sliced him right in the stomach.

The blood began to flow, so I took it away from. The blade came out clean and neat. The figure then collapsed and fell down. I glanced at it for a while as it turned into ash. Although into ashes, it's ice clear sword didn't. I picked it up. I used Esper to equip it, and now I have 2 slots empty for weapons. The journey continued and it seemed pretty smooth. Im confident about it alright. On the journey, I kept thinking about the logo on his neck, it was quite unusual around here.
