Warm Feelings (Chapter 3)

Time to head back to MAS I guess. All my items were packed, I was ready to head out. Yanagi amd Aden took the train, I took the cab. The journey was quite long, kept me asleep.

A sudden pat on the shoulder woke me, the view of the frontdoors of MAS kept my eyes wide awake. I paid the fare and dashed out into my dorm, which was in the Vek region. We have 3 campus regions, Vek, Ra, and Ko. I lived in the Vek region, the so-called "Smart kids" region. Vek had individual rooms, which im quite grateful for, because I wouldn't want a noise roommate or as we say dormmate.

I opened the door of my dorm to find my dorm clean as a whistle, like the day i left. I decided to lay on my bed for awhile, before changing into my MAS uniform. (Yes we have uniforms..) It was 4 PM, so dinner would be out soon in the Cafeteria, I set my clock ready to alarm me when to head out. They start dinner services at 6 PM, so 5:30 PM should be fine.

At MAS, students are Categorized by classes.

Magi, Vancer, Bladesmen, and so on. Well im not quite sure about Vancer and Bladesmen, probanly those are elite classes, but Vancer is just spell casters and Bladesmen is just for melee-lovers. Magis or 'Magus' is a special case. They're a combination of those two. Yanagi and Aden both are in Magi class, but Yanagi lives in Ra, which is the girl's dorms.

Sunset begins, the sun settles on the training ground. I change into my uniform after a shower. My next door dormmate, Takaii, starts grunting loud and banging the walls. "AAAAAAHHHHH!, WHYYYY WHYY WHHY!". I step out from my dorm to check him, seems like he's having trouble. He can't seem to memorize his spells. His book of spells or known as " Spell Kumedia" is quite thick. Energy drink cans all over the place. He apoligized for his behaviour. I kinda like dormmates like him. Responsible, makes me and him easy at dealing with each other.

Takaii is quite the strategist, one would suggest he seems useless in a battle, but he has trump cards everywhere. Takaii is also quite shy around girls, and originally, he wanted to be a Magi, and Bladesmen, but his former MAS examination known as "The Tarrior Test" didn't seem to agree well to his decision. He had pretty high marks on memorization, but physically he was weak.

"You're going to be late for the dinner service buddy, get something to eat will you?". "No thanks dude, I can handle it all by myself hihi". I left his dorm and walked for the cafeteria, when a thought crossed my mind, "oh..tomorrow is the field test.." which meant i have to have as much rest as i could before i could continue. I walked into the cafeteria, familiar faces of past classmates and current classmates caught my attention, when suddenly Yanagi and Aden invite me over to a table.

"Ready for tomorrow buddy?" "Not really..This isn't a lost auros battle you know? it's going to get abit tougher". We sat down and talked about tomorrows test. We all ate the hot served canteen spaghetti, which was said was the best meal of the academy. Turns out Aden, Yanagi, Takaii and I are on a group or "team". Tomorrows test is basically, the school will drop us off in a facillity somewhere in the heart of Remoria, the city of Azhall, where we will experience real-time combat. Since im the only Blade-esper user, I had to prepare something, because I will be leading the team.

The bell rang that indicated it was time to leave, we all headed for our dorms, when I came across Takaii. "You went for dinner service?" "Of course dude, I wouldn't want to miss Spaghetti haha". He has quite the humour. "He would make a great friend" I thought when I first came here, And I thought right.

I reached my dorm, and took off my clothes, and changed into my pyjamas. I stare at the blank ceiling thinking "If I pass, im a certified Magi, and a Esper user".That made me want to work harder. I closed my eyes and pulled the blanket to cover my body. I was excited for tomorrow, but I know I will be nervous too, because the test also is one of the tests that evaluates our Opus system.

Opus system: A system by MAS where once a student has gone through real-time battle tests, it will determine the suitable battle class for him, such as Warrior, Rogue, Swordsman, Archer. Certain MAS classes which are Bladesmen, Magi and Vancer do play a role to acquire a battle class.
