Rea, the Florist of the Church

"Hey there, how are you doing, little flower?"

The girl brushed the leaves of the small flower growing out of the pot.

"Today's sun is quite bright so make sure you get all the nutrients that you need," she said with a soft whisper.

The bright sun was blocked by a looming shadow.

"Rea."

She turned around.

"Father Rick?"

"There are people wanting to see you."

She stood up, brushed off the dust on her dress, and followed Father Rick.

"Who wants to see me?"

"They are people from the Southern Kingdom."

"What do they want from me?" asked Rea.

"They request your ability."

"But aren't they the bad guys?"

"We don't choose a side, Rea. And aren't we taught to help those who are in need regardless of who they are."

"I just don't understand. I still think they are the bad guys. They are the reason so many children becoming orphans. Why God wants me to help them?"

"God is a mysterious person. Why not you ask him if you get the chance to see him?"

"Will God even talk to me?"

"Why not? You are helping people. I pretty sure God will like to talk with you."

"But I still don't like healing those people. I hope God will punish them soon for their actions."

"I guess that's is up to God to do. For now, let's do what we can."

They arrived at the hall and there's a group of men wearing armor waiting for them. They don't look friendly. Some of them have scars on their face. A man wearing a decent robe walked in front to greet them.

"So this must be the child."

He adjusted his glasses to take a clearer look.

"Those eyes brimming with life, I am sure you are the real deal. Nice to meet you, Rea. I am Kutz and I come from Sol, the kingdom of the Sun. We are here because there is an urgent issue that only you can help us."

"What is it?" asked Rea

"You see, our prince is suffering from a fatal disease and it will be troublesome if he would pass away so sudden. Our king would like to invite you to our capital to treat the prince."

"Why should I use my power for people like you who make other people die?"

Father Rick coughed and Rea turns quiet out of embarrassment. She realized she had stepped out of bound.

The soldier standing beside Kutz twitched with anger.

"You brat!"

"Enough," said Kutz sternly and the soldier retreated.

"I see you are well aware of the current war that is going on."

"Of course, the orphans told me their story. That you people burn down their villages and kill their parents."

"You are correct! we did do all of that. I supposed it is not wise to lie in this place. But what we have done is not something a child like you can understand yet. We have our reason for doing it and I will advise you to put aside personal sentiment and aid us in our situation."

"Why should I help someone who would later kill more people?"

"This girl, I will cut off her head," shouted one of the soldiers.

Kutz throws a strong glare at him and he retreated. Rea could felt it. The atmosphere has gotten intense.

"My apologies, my lord."

"Now, would you kindly lower your hostility towards us, Father Rick? That would be helpful. Let's not shed blood here in this holy sanctuary."

"Oops, sorry about that. An old man like me tends to have high blood pressure from time to time. It's quite hard to control. Ah, but you people are definitely energetic and fiery as your soul made you be."

"Of course, we are people from Sol after all."

"My, my, what do we have here?"

Two of them were surprised.

"Lady Emily, what are you doing here?"

"I was going to the garden to look at some flowers but then I felt something is going on here and aren't these people from Sol?"

"Yes, there are."

"Nice to meet you guys, I am Emily. I am sorry I can't stand to bow or anything."

"Pleasure to meet you."

"Sister Emily!"

"Hi Rea, are these people scarring you?"

"No, they are not."

"Lady Emily, since you are here, I would hope that you can convince her to help us," said Kutz.

"But I don't want to help them!" said Rea.

"Rea," said Emily in a soothing voice while patting her head.

"They destroy people's homes and kill people. I don't want to help someone like that."

"Rea, do you remember what I said about your abilities."

Rea nodded her head. "It's to help people without caring who they are."

"Yes, you are correct."

"But…they kill people…I don't like them."

"But it is your responsibility. You are chosen to bear this gift by God and as a chosen one, you must not let your personal feelings interfere with your duties. Human lives are all equal. It does not matter how other people see it, it is how you see it. You are not helping the enemies, you are helping another human being who is just as helpless and suffering like the others do. So would you do it?"

Rea nodded her head.

Kutz sighed and his shoulder dropped.

"But I will help under one condition," said Rea. Her voice echoed the hall.

"And what is it? What do you want little girl?" said Kutz.

"I want you guys to stop killing after I am done healing your prince!"

The soldiers were annoyed but they kept their temper. They don't want to anger Kutz anymore.

"Ah, that will be a bit difficult," said he while pushing up his glasses. "But it isn't really impossible. But you have to heal the prince first before you can do that. He is the prince that will become the future king of our country and whether or not we go to war or live in peace it's up to him. It's not something a mere lowlife like me can promise you now, little girl."

"So I just have to talk to the prince?"

"Technically yes and the king as well."

"Fine, then it is a deal then."

"Do you think you can fulfill your condition that easily?" asked Kutz. "You haven't even met them yet and yet you are saying as if you are confident with yourself."

"God taught me that everything is impossible if I set my mind to it. So I believe that it will happen."

"Hahaha, you certainly amused me. Oh well, my job here is to just mainly escort you to my kingdom. Anything after that you are by yourself."

"Fine then."

"Then let's depart shall we."
