Chapter 19: Awakening [2]

Xylem. A subcontinent from the major landmass of Arxon Continent. It consisted of Six Interdependent States originally called District. Any migration or emigration to this kingdom could only be carried through Over ships, the largest type of Airship.

The nation in the Axon Continent which directly faced Xylem was nothing less than 500miles, to begin with, but yet, they too were disturbed.

Fortunately, they were allies to Xylem. To them, embarking on a journey to Xylem should take about seven to eight hours. But due to the looks of the sudden situation, they arrived thirty minutes after the earthquake. Not just because of the sake of allies was what made them present only but also because they felt a minor tremor in their nation too as well. They couldn't just sit back and allow whatever caused that tremor to destroy Xylem them later come to take their nation too. If something could cause the earth to shake from about half a thousand miles away, then what would it do when it comes into their Continent?

..

After searching for whatever clues they could find to get more information, Admiral Gabriel decided to leave the search party to report back to the kingdom's top hierarchy. Taking back half his cavalry of white armoured soldiers on silver plate horses, they rode back to the district as quickly as possible.

This time he didn't appear at the onion-shaped building. This matter was a kingdom's priority, not just a Seraphim Hand issue. He needed to talk with the kingdom's big guns.

..

Few Minutes Earlier…

Just after Admiral Gabriel left for the District's outskirts, three astonishing fast flying ships swarm above the buildings of the First District. It kept its pace steady as it moved, ignoring all pandemonium the Land-Dwellers posed to sanity.

It didn't stop till it got to a building. This building wasn't like any other building, the outside was extremely large with resplendent flowers and very tall trees. It had statues of three mighty people taking different posses and stance near its entrance. There was more than enough space to accommodate the moving Airships so they landed on a good spot.

A colony of 300 soldiers alighted from these ships with each having a man dressed in an overall black cloak. They matched to the entrance of the building where they were greeted by several other Xyleman soldiers wearing ring mails.

The other soldiers were the Kingdom's Escort. As if they knew of the unintended visit, they stationed outside the building waiting for the foreigners.

'Greetings, Prince Kazakhstan.' a warrior in the middle of the Kingdom's Escort spoke first.

A man in overall black cloak amidst the three others sauntered closer to the Kingdom's Escort warriors while his entourage waited behind him. His overall cloak hid his hands which were currently clasped behind due to pride. 'We came under the little time left. In request to speak with your Lord.' he majestically said.

'My apologies, but Lord Kendzrich wouldn't be able to join you.'

'Why so? This matter is of great importance. I suppose you are aware of the reason.' Prince Kazakhstan said slightly impatiently.

'The Kingdom's Forces are all on the case My Prince, rest assured.'

'Then I guess it would be unbecoming of me to ignore such an important conference.'

The Kingdom Escort warrior exposed an imperceptible smile but quickly dispelled it and gestured for the Prince to go in.

The Prince raised his chin and majestically walked pass the Kingdom Escort warriors. To him, they should be kneeling when talking to him.

The entrance to the building was a large fifteen feet door protected by two guards on ring mails. When the guards saw the Prince walk close, the nodded at themselves before pushing the door forward and revealing the inside.

Prince Kazakhstan slowly came in, drawing attention to himself.

He was greeted with an army of guards stationed at every corner the eyes could see. Walking past all these guards, he took numerous turns and was greeted by a long hall in each. The building was like a castle, guarded by mainly Kingdom's Escorts. It took almost a minute to reach his destination, funny, he was the one leading his crew.

He stopped his journey after he arrived at a door with two black armoured guards at the side just like the outside entrance. As the guards saw him they opened the door, letting him through.

Coming in unconventionally drew attention to himself. Every man and woman turned around to see this person who could disrupt the meeting of entitled generals in their fields.

In Xylem, there are five Kingdom Forces and presently there are five armoured people in this room, each having a cape that signified the head of their forces.

..

After the noise and the minor earthquake, Bobby as a Squire had a job to protect the ordinary people of the first district in as much as he wasn't up to that level yet. He couldn't just sit in his room and wait for everything to be back alright if he couldn't at least act. He left the society and headed for the district, helping families rescue their lost children, providing shelter for the ones who were caught by the earthquake and even help retrieve lost livestock like cattle and horses that panicked during the earthquake.

Who would've thought the city would need his help this much, despite the Seraphim Warriors and other Kingdom forces controlling the frightened crowd.

While running here and there, making sure the people were safe Bobby swiftly ran beside a very familiar figure. At first sight, he couldn't recognise this person but something inside him ignited a strong flare of emotion as he dashed by. Widening his eyes in shock and instantaneously stopping in his tracks, his expression turned into that of grave shock as he slowly turned around.

This person wore the padded armour of a Squire and walked in slow steady steps, like a zombie, each foot at a time. Same red hair, same height same age as the dead person in Bobby's memories. Bobby was too enthralled to say this person's name. He just stood there trying to utter its name but he couldn't. Like a terrified puppy, he watched. Even alerting the awareness of this person so the person turned to his back and revealed his face.

His face was thoroughly pale and dried up. His lips were crumpled and his eyeballs were sticking out from the sockets. What terrified Bobby the most was seeing the torn part of the chest region on the padded armour. This view shattered his mind and everything he believed in. It was just like before.

Managing to walk close to this person, he extended his hands to the person's face. Feeling every inch of the face and ruffling the hair. He then gently touched his forehead with the person's as he ruffled the hair. Swiftly bending around, the took this person up from the ground and to his back before making a run for it.

..

Mordecai managed to put his mother to rest after the disturbance of the minor earthquake before then heading straight to where it hit the most.

The city was just recovering from the sudden tremor. Civilians were being directed by numerous Kingdom forces and the casualties were taking care of. The only thought coming into his head was the whereabouts of Bobby. He quickly ran as fast as possible to the Ascension Society, hoping to find Bobby.

It was only moments Mordecai used to enter the Ascension Society and dashed past the terrified Squires along the cloister. When he got to Bobby's room door he kicked it open and called out.

'Bobby!'

There was no answer. This was due to Bobby was sitting quietly close to the bed with a very familiar face on it. When he saw who laid on the bed, his countenance changed from that of worry to complete disbelieve. He pointed at this person with an open mouth as he stared at Bobby unwilling to accept.

Bobby gently nodded to him, signifying the problem was under control. Mordecai's rubbed his hand across his face and over his hair.

When he calmed down he muttered to Bobby, 'How?'

Bobby whispered back, 'I don't know.' shaking his head.

Cautiously, Mordecai closed the distance with the bed and Bobby. He was careful not to make any sound to disturb this person.

But even at that, this person yanked open his eyes suddenly and drove his hands towards Bobby and Mordecai's neck instantaneously. Exposing a pair only utterly white eyes and Gripping them hard to the wall at their neck to the level they choked and almost passed out.
