Xuanmei slept at an inn that night, waking up at three as she went out to hunt, bringing a basket with her.
Bringing back ten boars, thirty chickens and twenty five fishes from her journey, she took more from her Pagoda as she laid it on the table.
"You know how to prepare them, right? We'll do a live preparation of the animals in the shop."
Bluey groaned.
"Why me?"
The first shop has now been opened. Asking for Bluey to stay there and tend to the shop since there will not be many customers in a new shop, Xuanmei, still having her mask on, left to the auction shop at about two fifty, arriving right on time.
The manager smiled lightly, "Have some tea."
His sinister undertone not escaping Xuanmei, she declined as she sat back.
"W-Well, we are here to talk business, yes? In order to appease you, I have brought you all of my slaves, and you have the deed which I ordered my assistant to hand over to you, right? Then, would that be able to pay you off?"
"I'll buy your last auction house. One million."
"B-But..."
"One million and a half."
"W-Well, t-"
"Or do you want to be exposed for the liars that you are?" Xuanmei glared at the three managers in the room. "If not, hurry up and sell me the auction house, or you'll be disgraced for the rest of your life."
"Y- You..." The main manager looked down at his hands as he slowly stood up, and shot at her.
"Die, you mannerless, unruly bastard!"
Xuanmei sidestepped him as she lifted a foot and stepped on him.
"Foolish. So disgusting, ungraceful. How inelegant."
Looking down on the main manager, her face full of disgust, she clicked her tongue.
"Now, give me the deed and I will fulfil my end of the deal."
With shaky hands and a horrified look on his face, Manager Yu's trembling hands passed over the deed.
"Now scram! Don't even think of assassinating me. If you even so as to try, and I survive, don't think I wouldn't dare to expose you people's malicious actions from the past few years."
"Robbery, killing, bribery... All you have to do is stay loyal, mute dogs, move away, live quietly in the mountains, and nothing will be revealed."
"Y-Yes!" The two managers Yu and Zi fled immediately, ignoring the cries of help from their main manager, and skedaddled away.
Xuanmei shook her head. "How pitiful."
Those people had done horrible deeds before, but leaving a friend, or what seemed like one, someone of companionship?
Xuanmei chuckled, kicking the manager.
"Go back. I know you're just doing this job so you can provide to your family. Trickery for the three auction houses, still wrong, but I understand you were at the end of your stick."
The main manager looked surprised but he smiled slightly afterwards, getting up from the floor, "Man, you don't know how tiring it is to see attendees punch the slaves. They weren't mine, but I felt really bad."
"Well, I guess I'll go back to my wife. She'll be glad that I finally 'stepped down',"
