55 Survive

*It's one day to the competition and I just wanna say, I haven't really trained. Welp, it's time to say my prayers and hope that I do not fail too badly. A week more to the other competition and yet...

*My sight isn't even right and I keep getting string slap for no reason, and, agh. Just... I'm going to die out there. Wish me luck (and a happy afterlife)! Oh I am regretting my life. (´;ω;`)

The heavenly fire classes had continued, and slowly but surely, both of the elements that Xuanmei were looking forward to improving had done exactly that.

The bond between Xuanmei and her three roommates were improving as well. Somehow, somewhere in between the lines of chasing Yuxuan out of the kitchen before she burns the whole house down and forcing Yuanze to cook, she found people she could trust.

"It seems that we have to gather in the hall today for some important announcement. Supposedly, it is about an annual event where people hunt in some crazy forest." Yuanze informed Xuanmei.

"Oh really? Sounds interesting. For what reason though?" Xuanmei asked her informant, her main inform information broker.

"No idea. Possibly to determine potential, maybe?"

"Huh. So this is a year end assessment?" Xuanmei asked.

"Apparently. Nothing was really specified, though." Lixing replied.

"Oh..."

"By the way, you didn't know because it was announced in curriculum, when you were dozing off." Yuanze said, half jokingly, his passive aggressive tone reaching Xuanmei.

"Ah... That... Explains a lot." Xuanmei admitted.

"When is it?" Xuanmei asked.

"Man," LiXing muttered, "I knew you didn't listen to class, but..."

Lixing sighed, as Yuanze waved her over.

"Where are we going?" Xuanmei asked curiously.

"Clueless number two. God, what have we done with our lives and why won't you help us?"

Lixing started saying prayers for the clueless girl as they headed towards the hall.

"About when it is... How about the answer, 'Now'?"

"Wait, it's today?"

"No, Sherlock." Yuxuan said sarcastically.

Xuanmei looked increadously at Yuxuan.

"No. I didn't pay attention, but I know about it. Woah. So shocking, I know. I, myself, find it shocking too."

"It's just stated so many times and its importance is just so blatantly obvious, that it somehow got nailed into my brain." Yuxuan easily provided information and straightened out the facts into the table.

"Well, what is it about?" Xuanmei asked as they, almost as if on cue, reached the Hall.

"So, dear students, you must be thinking about why you're all here."

"Well, there is just one simple reason. To get your licenses."

"Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, to the Survival training. If you decide to become mercenaries or guild leaders, you must learn these basic skills. Don't worry, though. It won't all be for naught."

"That is, if you survive these few days. Don't worry, there aren't many death counts at all."

*Small reminder, there's probably no update on Friday, Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday because I'm going to be gone for fourteen and a half hours just because of this stupid competition.
