Clichés 15: The Heart Remembers

"You're not Jun— he's gone. He died years ago," Kim countered stubbornly, her eyes filling with hate. "After all these years, I've already finally accepted that he's not coming back." 

As if her words took every ounce of her energy, Kim slowly slumped towards the floor, the anger on her face replaced by pain and resignation. She looked very exhausted. 

"No, I'm here— I know everything now. Let's fix this. Don't leave Kim," Henry begged as he too slumped on the floor and gathered her in his arms. 

Kim did not fight him off this time. She was truly, utterly defeated that she had no more strength to even push him away. 

"I'm so sorry I did not listen— that I refused to acknowledge what my dad said at the hospital. I was so angry at that time. I didn't mean to…" Henry paused, thinking of a better word to say what he did.
